I work in an office where i have to deal with lots of customers, as well as with workmates, every day. And i love this job, but the problem i am talking about is specifical: How is it possible that certain people smell so bad? I know that a few of them stink like that because of any disorder that might affect them, but in most cases, it's pure lack of personal hygiene....So Disgusting! Some people at least smoke and drink coffee, and even though it's not a nice smell either, it's better than a "haven't showered in 3 days" smell. That really is unbearable...sometimes i've been in the edge of vomiting, i promise. Do you share my complaint about people who don't wash themselves at all? how do you deal with people who smell so bad and you have to be around every day?

I agree. It's disgusting to be around people like that. I also don't like being around farmers that have just come from the hog barn, and go in the store, smelling of pig pooh. Years ago, I worked at Tractor Supply, and we had to smell alot of that. There were also customers that hadn't bathed in awhile, and it was hard to keep from vomiting. I don't know how people can stand to be so dirty, that they stink. It would be extremely uncomfortable, I would think. EWWW

I agree. I work at a trucking company and I think some of those guys are the absolute worst. But what kills me is when they try to mask it with cologne. That mixed with body odor is enough to give me a sour stomach.

Yes there are some people who really smell bad! Before, I thought that only fat people smell bad. But there are some people also who are not fat but they smell really bad. I guess it just depends on the persons hygiene.

I know where you're coming from, it's really disappointing to have a co-worker, especially in the office, who smells really bad. It seems that these people care less about themselves, because they do not know how to be considerate and self-conscious. I once have a co-worker which is like that, our job requires specific uniform so we have a monthly issue new uniforms to be used. The problem is, this guy smells almost the same everyday he comes for work. He stinks, even if work haven't started yet and it seems that he uses our uniforms twice a week without even using it. So I got an idea to check out if he does not wash the uniform, I got a pen and wrote a small line just below his shirt then check if the mark of the pen would still be there tomorrow. To my prediction, it was still there and that he didn't even checked what his uniform looks like. This just shows how they lack in respect for themselves, they don't know how to maintain good hygiene and is irresponsible of his appearance. That could also be the reason why he stinks, aside from not taking a bath..

LOL!! U seem to be caught in an awkward situation... Some people do smell very bad.. Though I don't come across bad scented people everyday, but whenever there's some1 smelling really bad, I just give an ugly glare to him, and then go away.. Even I find bad smelling people very disgusting.. Infact the ugliest thing I find in this whole world is bad odour...Eeeeeeks...

I can't blame you for airing your sentiments over people who fails to give much attention to their personal hygiene, not only it is disgusting but it is day-ruining as well. It is mind-boggling though how a stinky person could stand how badly he smelled & not be alarmed by the trouble he's causing to people near him. Maybe he got immune to his bad odor or giving enough effort to keep his body clean & pleasant-smelling is not a priority to him. Just maintain your composure and pray that you'll be spared from customers whose character stinks because that would be doubly hard for you. Good day!

Yes some people stink! They just don't seem to smell it themselves. 2 examples. In the summer my fridge went wrong. I came home from school with my kids and the repair man was there in the kitchen. As I walked in the front door and up the hall, I could smell this awful BO smell, my son who was 7 held his nose and said 'pwor, what's that smell' my 8 year old daughter held her nose too. As we walked in the kitchen we could smell the man. It was a hot summer's day which didn't help. He reeked, it made me feel sick. My daughter ran in the lounge and my untactful son kept saying, 'what's that smell' and he was looking at the bloke fixing the fridge. The bloke said ' well i's not me is it?' I had to walk to another room from embarrasment, my husband was trying not to smile. When he went we had to spray all round the rooms with freshener. Today, a lady knocked at my front door selling double glazing. She stood in my porch and bearing in mind it is Autumn here in the UK and pretty chilly, she had on a heavy winter coat but she stunk my porch out with BO. She only stood there for 2 minutes. What a stink! I just can't understand how people can smell that much and not notice it.

I was at a bank one time and there was a lady in front of me WOW is all I have to say on that it was my turn after she left and the bank teller pulls out a air freshener and sprays it! LOL. She waited until the lady was gone before she did it LOL. I would not know how to tell someone they smelled bad I guess you could comment on a bad smell and just not direct it to anything or anyone? Or you could start carrying around a little bottle of fabreeze? -Amber
