This is one of life's big questions that has puzzled me for years. Thank goodness for myLot! Now I can finally learn the answer to my question. Is soup eaten or drunk? (drank? you get the idea...)

Both! LOL. You eat all of the noodles or goodies out of the bowl first, and then you drink the leftover broth.

I always drink soup out of a mug because I find it easier and I can walk around with it! So I guess I drink soup rather than eat it, it's more of a personal preference and it saves slurping with the spoon!

I wud have to scratch my head really hard to get the answer to ur question...LOL!!! Neways, I think soup is both eaten as well as drunk.. But if u want to answer a phone call and u want to tell what u r doing rite now, then it wud b wise enough to tell that u r 'drinking' the soup...

well never ever thought about this one. This question is same as in my native language where we ask same question but for water... well here i think if the soup is all soup nothing to chew then its drunk if there is something to chew then its for eating.

Well you can't drink veggies and stuff. I think you do both. You eat the chunky/crunchy parts of the soup. the major bulk of the soup. Then you drink the leftovers that are in the bottom of the bowl. you get the best of both worlds.

I generally eat it with a spoon. If it's just broth I'll put it into a cup and drink it, but I prefer to eat it with a spoon. Of course, most soups I make are heavy on the meat, noodles and vegetables. But even if it's just tomato soup, I prefer to eat it with a spoon.

It depends on the soup actually. If its is pure liquid then I drink it..have you ever heard someone eating water? ..^^..If some solids are there like a little bit of crab and corn then I eat it but of course I also drink the liquid part because it's the delicious one.

Dear friend, I mostly have soup and I would prefer vegetable soups like Mushroom Soup, Vegetable Soup, Corn and Pepper Soup, Raw Papaya Soup, Vegetable Spinach Soup, Creamy Tomato Basil Soup, Spinach-Potato Soup, mixed vegetable soup so on. Among this I most is mushroom soup and vegetable soups. In these the liquid is drank and the vegetable part or things which are to be chewed is eaten and other not chewable vegetables are swallowed.

I'd say I eat soup but drink the broth if I like that flavor of it.

I like to "eat" soup with a spoon, even if it is all broth. I guess I feel this way because it is what my parents taught me to do. However, it would work just as well to pour it in a cup and drink it. Probably easier, too!

I eat soup. I've never had those soup at hand things that are in those cup things that you can drink or whatever. The only time I drink soup is when I'm at the bottom of the bowl and have a bit of soup left, but not enough to get the rest from the bottom with my spoon. Besides, some soup you can't drink. What about vegetable soup? That'd be difficult to drink without choking.

If it is not the thick kind, I would guess I drink it. Actually I sip it, but I do chew the small chunks of vegetables and potatoes since I do not have any back teeth and am in danger of choking easily. Of course, there are those chicken noodle soups that you drink the stock and then you eat the noodles. And if it is just a chicken or a beef or a vegetable broth, you can drink it out of a cup.

I eat soup. It's not only water like most people think. Chicken soup for example you can't drink it, the meat chunk can cause you choking if you do. maybe you can drink vegetable soup, but I don't think I've ever seen any soup I can drink

Basically, I think it's a matter of preference, I personally like my soup with lots of vegetables and meat in it, in which case I eat the soup! But I have had numerous occassions, when I was real sick, that I had to drink the "cup of soup"!

I eat it at first..then once it gets near the bottom of the bowl..i pick the bowl up and drink the rest lol. Its a tricky question..i guess it all depends..you dont drink water with a spoon do you? so i dont think it counts as drinking.
