Do you use the same cup?

I know this probably isn't very healthy, but I use the same cup all day long, even for a couple days. I'll drink water, iced tea, soda, probably anything but milk using the same cup throughout the day. I think it stems from before I had a dishwashwer. I would use the same cup so that I didn't have to wash 3 or 4 cups for just one person. Do you use the same cup or do you get a clean one during the day?

Hi Dawn,
LOL I use the same one too. Other than my coffee cup in the morning. I rinse it out and sometimes wash it depending on what was in it. If I had tea and getting more tea, then I wont.
I know people that will get a clean one each time. I mean its not like your sharing it with someone else. lol I really hate washing dishes too, so the less to wash the better.

Even with a dishwasher I don't like doing dishes... Sometimes I find that the top is full of glasses, but the bottom is empty.

Standing over the sink too long hurts my back, so I really have to use a dishwasher - but I just about have to clean them before they go in...

I think I dislike emptying and reloading the dishwasher more than I dislike doing the dishes by hand! There is something about the dishwasher that I just don't like!

Do you usually use a straw? My aunt would always drink with a straw and replace the straw a couple times a day.

I use the same cup, before and after work. Coffee in the am. Hot chocolate right before bed. At work, if I drink work coffee, it is a different cup. I take sports bottle full of energy drink with me. After it is empty, I make green tea in it. I do use a paper water cup at the water cooler. I do not know that that is so unhealthy. It would be unhealthy if you were using someone else's cup.

I use the same water bottle at work all day long - for DAYS - I just refill it from the water cooler. A few people have told me that bacteria can build up in the bottle since I don't take it home and wash it out. After a while, I'll bring a fresh bottle from home and start the cycle over again. Or, when I've had a cold I've replaced it more often.

I'm worse than you are. I re-use the 44 oz. cups from Sonic or from the convenience store and fill with my ice water or my coke refills. I haven't used a glass without a straw in years. I'm not even sure where they are! LOL

Nah, I don't.
Usually if I switch beverage, I will make sure to wash it first.
I wash all my cups with detergent. I like to switch around cups too i.e. don't use the same one each drink. =)

I think my husband was like that too, but now he'll use the same one more than once. My "bad" habits are rubbing off on him!!!

No, I always get a new cup for the most part every single time I get something to drink. But, that was just how my mother raised me. She was extremely cautious about germs and so forth so, we always got a fresh cup out of the cabinet and we also always rinse our cup before we pour anything into our cup to drink. Matter of fact we rinse everything before we use it- plates, silverware, cups, pots, pans. Everything!

When I pull something out of the cupboard, I blow in it to get any dust out that might have gotten in there. I usually don't have to bother with that, but it's habit...

i use 1 cup everyday to drink water... and i have to wash it at least one day once... but if i drink like soft drink, milk, honey or tea, then i will just use it once and i have to wash it... i can't mix one drink with another drink using the same glass... the taste is just terrible if i do that and i will have a stomachache...

I've never noticed a taste differnce if I drink a tea then soda in the same glass... But I don't know that I normally do that. Mostly I drink water so there's not really any taste in it if I switch to something else. Then I'll usually go back to water.

I use the same coffee cup all day..I dont use glasses though since I'm a Propel junkie and just drink it out of the bottle...but it drives me nuts when my kids get a new glass every time, though they are getting better with it..My husband will use the same glass though..

Do you use the same bottle all day and just refill it or do you open a fresh bottle every time? When I'm at work, I use the same bottle, just refill it out of the water cooler all day. After a while I take a fresh water bottle to work and start that cycle all over again too.

I tend to use the same cup all day long, heck I have been known to use the same cup for a few days if all I am drinking is water. I am just too lazy to be washing dishes all day over a cup of water. I use those really big 32oz glasses so I don't have to refill too often through the day.

I find that I use the same cup for a couple days too - until I forget which one is mine and which is my sons or husbands. Then I throw them all in the dishwasher. It's funny because someone will invariably say "Where's my cup?"

I see nothing wrong with using the same cup for one day. I use a cup a day. I keep refilling it. It has my germs in it and no one elses in it.
I feel as long as it has your germs in it and not passed around to others there is nothing wrong with it. In hospitals they let a person use the same water cup for 24 hours and change the cup and pitcher every day. They use to give a patient only one cup and pitcher per stay.

Oh yeah, now that you mention it, you don't get a fresh cup every time you take a drink when you're in the hospital. I guess one day is ok then!

It's not difficult, but I'm usually just putting water back into it - the same thing that I just drank out of it. So I don't see any sense in rinsing it out - with water - just to put more water in it. And if I switch to tea or soda, it had water in it first so there's nothing really to rinse out. When I start to think there might be germs or something in the cup, I will get a clean one.

I use the same cup all day as well. Saves space in the dishwasher so I don't have to turn it on everyday!

We usually have to run the dishwasher every day, but there's already plenty of glasses and cups in it even by using the same one all the time. If I used different ones the whole thing would be full of cups and glasses!!!

At least yours are clean every time! I worry sometimes that I've got germs in my cup from reusing it.

I use the same cup all day long, just like you, and I have a dishwasher. I just don't see any need to grab a clean one everytime. I don't know that it's unhealthy. I rinse mine out everytime I use it something different, including milk. I won't use it the next day though. I put it in the dishwasher at the end of the day and take a clean one the next day.

Mostly I just drink water so there isn't any flavors that will mix, but occasionally I will have tea or soda and use the same cup.

Sorry I can't use the same glass or cup. I have different cup/glass for drinking water, tea & any other aerated drinks.

Do you wash it before you fill it with the same thing you just drank? If you had a Coke, would you wash it out before you had another Coke?

There are days that I use the same cup. But I rinse it first before using it again. Like you, I don't like my sink to be crowded with unwashed cups or glasses. So, as much as possible, I try to use just one. But when it comes to coffee, I use my favorite big mug. And I use that mug for drinking water and sodas too.

There are a few things I'll use a different cup for. If I have something hot, I'll get a fresh mug, but I'll use that mug over if I have more. If I have a coctail I'll use a different glass, but if I have more than one I reuse the glass, but only that one night.

Most of the time I drink just water, so there's no problem with taste if I do have tea or soda.

Yeah it's not healthy if you don't wash your cup especially if you're at work you don't know if there's an insects coming around. I use the same cup but i make sure to wash it after drinking coffee or milk.

At work I have a water bottle that I use over and over again. It has a lid on it so I don't worry about the bugs getting into it. At home is the only place I'd have to worry.
