I was sitting here and my 3 year old says Kalubs {the boy I sit for} nose is bleeding. I was like ok what happened. He says nothing its bleeding. I thought maybe just a little. Nope it was a fair amount of blood. My 3 year old is telling him its ok keep your head up! LOL. My little doctor! I cleaned him up and hes fine. He didnt hit his head or fall so maybe its just a nose bleed. He didnt really even care that it was bleeding. Do you or your kids get nose bleeds?

My son does if he gets overheated or gets too hot. It's happened a few times over the past several months and have had him checked. Doctor says he is ok. It actually runs in my family as I often get nose bleeds if I am wayyy too hot!

I didnt know you could get them from being overheated. Thats intersting. I wonder why? Does the blood get to hot and need to get out?

Actually with my son is a combination with being overheated, if the air is very dry and his allergies as well. A cold wet facecloth on the nose with his head bent forward seems to make it stop, not immediately but after a few minutes.

I use ot get nose bleeds all the time when I was little from dry air. It was never really a big deal. I would just be sitting in front of the TV and it would bleed. I think it bother my mom more than it bothered me, even though the Dr said it was normal during the winter when the heat was running.

i never have a nose bleed at all until today and i hope i never will... but both my brothers and my hubby ever have nose bleed... whenever my hubby has a nose bleed, there is a lot of blood come out from his nose and i am really scared... his father says it is because he is stress or his body is too hot inside... so i try to watch out what he is eating now... less fried food and more veggies and fruits... he is fine now...

Wow! I hope everything is alright...the 3 yr old is such a good helper...I had taken care of a young boy about 4 years old..One day while he was napping his nose started to bleed..He had a huge amount of blood and large clots coming out onto the pillow..The pillow was soaked with blood..I called his mother and she says that happens all the time...I was like, you could have mentioned this to me so that I would have been aware that it could happen...Poor little guy..

Even if it is not dangerous it is so scary to see a child's nose bleeding or blood on them. I get so nervous in such situation. i know we should be more strong and see what really happened. Take care.

My 5 year old daughter has had them pretty consistently for about the past year. I think hers has something to do with her allergies and more so now that she takes prescription nasal spray as I have noticed they are more frequent even though the doctor assures me everything is fine. Of course I too had them extremely bad when I was a child. In elementary school I could barely get bumpe in the nose without it gushing every where.

My daughter gets nosebleeds from time to time. Usually its because the air is very dry, although I have no idea why this makes her nose bleed. You might try using a humidifier if this is the case for Kalubs.
Also, a little known fact that I picked up in Medical Assistant training. If a person has a nose bleed you should tell them to hold their head DOWN, not up. This way the platelets (the things that make blood clot) collect faster, therefore stopping the nosebleed sooner.

Yes I had never had them before and was woken by my cat sniffing my face. When I got up I discovered I had had a nose bleed. They continued all day so I made an appointment for my doctor and was told I had ruptured a small vein in my nose. Ir was caused from blowing my nose too much due to hayfever.
My stepson gets them all the time, but that's because I reckon he picks his nose.
