Im a semi finalist in contest

I never blieved my poetry was that good. But i guess the people at poetry.com thought different. I entered a poem I wrote into a contest at poetry.com and I am a semifinalist for the $10,000 grand prize! Please hope I win. I need the money to help my family.

I know this site is not a scam. I have found people who have won and gotten the money. But thank you for warning me.

The cynic in me says to watch out though. And another thing. DO NOT hand over any money (that's a tell-tale sign of scams, if it is one).

they did not ask for any money to enter. it was completely free and i have copyright to my poem.

that is soooo cool! congratulations starry wonder! oh i do hope you win the prize. too bad poetry.com is not open to the rest of the world.
as for myself, i have yet to win a writing contest, though i have been joining some. need some money too.

Just try your best and hope you win. Every time I think about the contest I tell myslef I am going to win instead of putting negatuve thoughts into my head.

All I can say is be careful about this site. Don't shell out any money on it. There are other writing sites that you can join. I'd love to share with you a great site where you can be critiqued for your work, join forums and contests. You can also possibly earn through referrals. Let me PM you the site, just let me know.

The people who warned you about poetry.com are right. This is a well-known scam site. Its only purpose is to make money from the "winners."

Hello Starrywonder,
I aslo had deal with poetry.com before, and I had many notices saying that I am a semi-finalist. I had to agree with the last commentor, everyone who entered received the notice. I had read and heard on the new about their scam.
The next step they will have you do is booking airline ticket and hotel for the convention.
I don't want to burst your bubbles, but be very careful about doing it. You already don't have money, and you don't want to chase after that with a debt. Take care!
