What is your hair like? Are you happy with it?

My hair is very dark brown. I sometimes wish it was lighter. When I was younger I used to put henna on it. This gave it a slightly ginger glow that I liked. My hair is straight and I wish that it had some wave or curl. In the 1980s when flicks were a popular hair style my hair just flopped. I like to grow my hair quite long but I notice many split ends when it gets very long.
If I could have different hair I would choose very long, wavy ginger hair. It would have quite a thick texture and a lovely shine to it.
What is your hair like? Color, length, straight or curly.
What would you choose if you could have different hair?

Uhm, I don't really like what my hair has turned out. When I was really young, I had straight, shiny hair. But I think I kind of abused my hair. When I was in fifth grade, I think the trend at that time was really short hair like Irene Cara's, I think, short hair but curly on top. So I had that done and what happened was my hair was overly permed and the result was I had a really tight curls. Yucky. After that my hair grew out but it kind of damaged my hair a bit. My hair went coarse and a little wavy. Then during teen years, I had them curled again, then straightened, and so on and on. So now I just don't want to do any thing with my hair and just tie it. I have really long hair now, its wavy, sometimes frizzy. My hair black and its my natural color. What would I choose if I could have different hair? I'd like to have long, really shiny and healthy and straight hair.

I do like my hair, thankfully. It has taken me time to adjust to it though.
I had long hair until I was 13 (too my knees). Cutting that was freedom!! After the birth of my first baby, I cut my hair and it grew back sort of curly. I dealt with that by cutting it into the Audrey Hepburn Pixie Cut, which I wore for years. After the birth of my second baby, it came back super curly, so I have learned to deal with that, haha!
So now I have mid back length, curly, dark brown with natural red (and grey, lol) highlights hair that I straighten occasionally for fun. It is very thick, so I have to get a trim and a thinning about once a month for it to stay under control. I am finally happy with it, so I wouldn't want to have different hair. If you would like to get some shine in your hair, there are some great shine products that you can use. Got 2 B makes a nice shine spray, just don't use too much or it makes your hair greasy. It you are having issues with split ends when you grow it out, put conditioner on the ends or your hair (about 1/3 up the length) and cover it in a plastic bag. Leave the conditioner on the ends for about 30 minutes and then rinse it out. That helps, as well as getting trims regularly, depending on how fast it grows, up to twice a month. Split ends can also be caused by the bands you use to put your hair up with. Never use rubber bands, they are super hard on your hair.
I hope that you will grow to love your hair one day :D

Not so much now because I have my hair nice and short and that's the way I like it, but when I was a teenager I was always changing my hair, I've had it all spiked, highlighted and even bleached blonde. I would love blond hair, I had blond hair up till I was four then it went dark brown! The only thing I haven't done with my hair is grown it shoulder length!

I am glad that you are happy with the way your hair looks. Teenage years are often a time for trying out new styles. It sounds like you tried most styles. My nephews and nieces all have fair hair when they are born and then it gets gradually darker to end up almost mid brown.

I have a black hair which is very long and thick..it will look like a silky hair and i never change my hair style nor colour it because i like the way i have my hair and wish i could keep it safely..i do suffer from hair loss when iam sick and take immense care later to keep my hair good..i wash regularly with mild shampoo and apply little oil because my country is a humid one...If i could wish for any different hair it would be curly because it looks great..

I have long hair, half way down my back, with a short bang. I curl my bang every day with a velcrow curler and blow dry it just to get it hot. I then let it cool before I take it off and then I get a little uplifting curl. My hair color is dirty blonde with a few streaks of a lighter blonde, which are natural. I have just a tad of grey in the bang. But it looks good so I don't try to hide it. My hair is pretty much straight. I used to get a perm but not anymore. The perm is almost totally gone now, just the ends have some still.
If I could change anything I would like my hair to be thicker and fuller, but there is nothing I can do about that.

At the moment my hair is probably a shade of yukky grey or even white, but nobody will ever know since it is very skillfully coloured with one of those new hair dyes that varies the depth of colour and it really does look very natural. The colour is supposed to be blonde, but this is the third time I have used this particular shade and my hair has come through the whole procedure resolutely mousy coloured!
I had the hair cut slightly shorter this time and the result is a sort of shaggy bob type style but it took about ten years off my age so that was just fine by me.
When I was a child I desperately wanted curly hair and I went through agony, sleeping with curlers in my hair, having rags tied into my hair and trying to sleep with those pulling at the roots, but my hair was always rats tail straight.
Now I am older there is a slight kink to the hair, and I use a conditioner which comes with the hair dye and it leaves my hair wonderfully soft, bouncy and shiny.
I think it is fair to say that at 50 my hair looks and feels better than it ever did during my younger years. I always used to think that I wanted long curling hair like Rapunzel but actually this style and look I have now suits me the best of all, so I suppose I had better be grateful and get myself a ladder if I want my partner to come rescuing me from upstairs rooms lol.

It is great that you have been able to color your hair to make it look so natural. The condition you use leaves your hair looking so lovely, with bounce and shine. It is wonderful that your hair suits you. Yes, when I was a child I admired Rapunzel's long golden curly hair. Yes, get a ladder. Ha ha. Many thanks for your wonderful response.

My hair is shoulder length, thick and curly. I have spiral curls so it tends to fall in ringlets if I'm not careful! It's naturally dark brown (well actually it's more grey now!) but at the moment it's dyed red - and I mean red! Redder than I intended but I do like it.
If I could choose any hair I would probably want it to be a little less curly and easier to control and maybe a natural colour that was a bit lighter so it would be easier to change. I change the colour of my hair all the time so no matter what colour it was naturally I would dye it anyway.

I have long dark brown wavy hair.Usually I love it but..I went to my salon Saturday and my stylist wasn't there.Since we were going on holiday Monday I decided to let one of the other girls cut it.Big,big mistake. She tried to duplicate my normal cut but couldn't.I hate what she did to my hair! I'll just have to suffer through until I get back and can get it fixed.

My hair is black with lots of gray streaks LOL and its long. Its fuzzy and thick and I get it relaxed and ironed to get that straightened look I have always wanted. I use to perm it for tight curls and now I relax it. It gets really dry at times too.
If I had to choose it would most definitely be straight black hair.

I think you are lucky to have fuzzy hair because it has lots of body to it. Thick hair looks so lovely as well. Yes, dry hair can be helped with a good conditioner. Yes, I agree straight black hair looks very attractive especially if it has some shine to it.

My hair is long and blond. I am satisfied with my hair the only problem I am facing now is that I think that I am losing too much of hair every day. I need to find something that will help me to stop this process, maybe drink some good vitamines. Other than that I like my hair and the way they look.

I'm an (oriental) Asian woman. My hair used to be black when I was younger, but as I got older, it turned dark auburn - black hair with an auburn shimmer. My own relatives (and just today my own sister) and friends would ask if I dye my hair. They love the color of my hair and no doubt if it was dyed, the relatives would have been interested in knowing what brand and color was used. Length of my stick straight hair is 3-4 inches past the shoulders with a layered, razor cut. The only time I ever dyed my hair was ten years ago, when I dyed it pitched black because I didn't think it was black enough. I never dyed it again because it made my hair dry as hay.
I wouldn't want to change a thing about my hair, but if I were to try something different, I would love to have the same shade of brown as the one in your picture. It's a rich, deep brown - not the non-descriptive, mousey brown that's common. Incidentally, the dark brown makes a terrific contrast with your fair complexion. If you like long hair, go for it. The trick to avoiding split ends is to get a trim every six weeks. I also recommend applying leave-in creme/conditioner to your hair after washing it and avoid blow drying it, if possible. If you must, use the lowest heat setting with one of those "ion" adjustable settings to lock in the moisture.

Welcome to My Lot. Thanks for an excellent response. I think that your hair sounds wonderful. Black hair with an auburn shimmer sounds so lovely. You are so lucky and do not need to dye your hair. You have a given me a superb idea for getting my hair even longer and avoiding split ends. Thanks for your comments about the color of my hair. Yes, I do have a very fair complexion. When I came home from a holiday to the Caribbean my Asian friend told me I looked much better with more color to my face.

My hair is dark brown, and it's not curly nor wavy, even though it's not completely straight either. I do like it, no complaints about my hair. Now all I need is not losing it with age hehehe. Anyway, if that happens, so be it!

Hi,there! My hair used to be straight, but it's getting not that straight and sometimes curly nowadays.I'm not very satisfied with it right now.I had my hair cut two weekes ago but it seems it's not too different from that in the past.I guess I need to change the style now. I'm thinking about that these days. I like my hair and always use good shampoo for it.But I do think sometimes we should change it so that we'll have some fresh feelings and we'll be different somehow:) Do you think so? Have a good day!
