Yes, do you feel thankful ( for what ? if you do ... and to whom maybe ) ... do you say grace on that day in particular (as opposed to any other day )
What is your spirit for that day?
Or is it just a holiday that is great to gather the family and all eat together around the table ... tht turkey , the dressing
What do you eat for thanksgiving?
We will probably have (as usual) Deviled eggs, turkey and gravvy, green beans , dressings and cranberry sauce, sweet potatoe pie
Pretty traditionnal I guess LOL
What about you?

I have lots to be thankful about. I tend to keep my special prayers private, just between me and God. I dread going to my family gathering. My blood pressure goes up just thinking about it. LOL.
We eat the usual stuff for us. Turkey with gravy, stuffing and dressing, mashed potatoes, carrots, green bean cassarole, yeast rolls with butter and cranberry sauce. For dessert we always have buttermilk pie, oatmeal pie, pecan pie, banana pudding and coconut cake. We eat all day long and take leftovers home.
OH, and we always have the traditional HUGE fight about stuff that happened years and years ago and then the men watch football and the women go shopping at Garden Ridge until eveyone calms down and then we eat again.

I want to say is thinksgiving day is popular in our country. because it is a I meaningful day.
Althouh most of us do not have the habit to eat turkey or celebrate for it.It reminds us to think about some people that we need to appreciate. And we need to treat others kindly.

I love Thanksgiving. I am greatful for so many blessing that are present in my life. I know that these blessings come from Heavenly Father. I try to be greatful all year long but at this time of year, it just seems more powerful.

I am very thankful at Thanksgiving as I am thankful to be alive and am thankful that I have wonderful parents and a wonderful family and friends. I am thankful for having a good job, a decent home and car and now new computer. My family usually says a prayer at Thanksgiving before eating. This year I will be going to a friends house and having dinner with him and his fiance and family. I usually have turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, candy yams and bread.

For me Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for everything that you have in your life instead of taking it for granted and harping about the things you don't have. It is also great if the family can all get together at Thanksgiving but my family lives pretty far away! Spending Thanksgiving with my own family (hubby and daughter) is fine with me too though, and a nice turkey dinner is always something great to look forward too!

It is a mixed holiday for me. I am grateful for everything and everybody in my life and all of the good things but on the other hand as a native 'American this is a day of mourning for us. It represents when the white man took away our rights, our lands. and even tried to take away our beliefs and anything that we had that made us the people. Even now the US government takes away as much as they can. In California after the fires, the native Americans were the last that they even thought of (I am not sure if any help has arrived yet).So how can I think about Thanksgiving as most people do when the white man tried to take away my heritage.

Thanksgiving is great for getting together with family, having a good meal and watching football. But it always reminds me to stop and take notice of all the good things I have in my life. So often, we take what we have for granted, while complaining about what we don't have. But this holiday always makes me stop and think about how my life has improved and how much I really have to be thankful for. My family, my health, my home, just to name a few.

Very well said Sillychick! I couldn't agree with you more. A lot of people take for granted the basics of food, shelter, and clothing but would sure miss it if it were gone!

For me it is a gathering of family and friends.

It is a both a giving of thanks and a practical matter that I'm the one in the family and circle of friends with a really big family sized oven that can fit a proper turkey in.

The Thanksgiving meal is great, but for me it is my family and friends.I give thanks for everything I have in my life. If I didn't have my family and friends, then I wouldn't have anything.
I love the closeness of our family as we gather to share a special meal and memories!

I am very thankful for what God has bless us with. All the people in our lives have been here through thick and thin. They are the ones who help us when we need them the most. As to what do we eat, we have the turkey of course, the spare ribs, ham, fish, cranberry sauce, gravvy and a lot of extra yummy treats. Things we shouldn't eat like pies, cakes, candies, chocolates, and cookies hehe. The kids love them that is why we have them wink wink. I am kidding it's because us adult likes them too.
