Most of us strive to have 'quality of life', but what does it really mean? Does it mean getting rich and getting everything that one could possibly want? or is it more than that?...or never that and it has an entirely different meaning for you?

What you do in your life, and how much you do in your life, define your quality of life.

A partly agree with you. However, I also consider that the environment where we live in also affects our quality of life. Thanks for sharing!

Hi cdparazo! I think that having a quality life is when I have a healthy and loving relationship with my husband, my family and my friends and that I get along just fine with almost all the people I get to meet and be acquainted with. That I have enough money to spend and give to those who asked for help. That I would not worry on the health of the people I love and not worry on next month's bills. That I could enjoy every day of my life and that each night i can thank God for all the blessings that He has given me, the peace, strength, wisdom and love He showered me. That my life is meaningful. Just my thoughts my friend. Take care and have a ncie day. :)

I like your definition...because it means there is equal opportunity and availability of resources for one to be able to strive for what one want and enjoy what one like. It also means being happy for just being alive...and the absence of depression. Nice!

Quality for me is just the exact way of living, not too much on wealth and not that poor as well. It's enough for me if we can have food in our tables that we can eat thrice a day, some appliances to use for entertainment and simple pleasures. A money to enjoy spending at whenever we want to go out and travel, as simple as that!;)

For me life is to be happy, to be loved, to be the best, to be remembered. It is in our hands what we make of our life to be memorable or miserable. Live and let live .

For me life is to live happily and make others around us also happy. Life is not about getting rich and getting everying we want. We can't be happy even after getting rich and by getting one thing we want other. Life has different meaning to different people. For me Life is what we make it. It is in our hands to make our life happiest or miserable.I want to make it memorable.

Each one of us wants to be happy and it goes that having a quality life is instrumental to being happy no matter what the meaning of each one life is. There are just basic things that without them, would make our life just not happy.

Well I think it's a sum of things. Economical possibilities, education, weather, activities available, level of polution, etc. But in the end, it's really a subjective thing. Each one of us defines what quality of life is according to what we like and our priorities, so it's hard to provide a unified concept.

It may be hard at first my friend but one thing i have found out is that there is a common ground and there is actually a unified concept based from the responses that I got. We just express them differently. One unified concept that i have gathered is that 'quality of life' doesn't mean being rich but just having enough to fulfill our basic needs and being able to pursue life's challenges and grow as a person. I hope to gather more based on the responses. Thanks for your input!

Hi, Life of each one has their own contributions. Changes in each and everyone is oblivious so as the satisfaction level too. I hope one who get satisfied and were one's wants are limited may be there he finds the quality of life by achieving it through making better contributions to society and to himself and the satisfaction person get through that. Being a better social being with more duties done with happy mind till end.

Life is full of challenges. I feel that therer is joy in meeting challenges and winning. The person who can meet the challenges successfully gets many previlages and enjoys the life. Those who fail are deprived of those privilages . However, for me the quality of life is good if one is satisfied with whatever one has got, One must be enjoy the situation the life has offered and then one's life is of good quality. As long as the wishes are concerned, the human nature is such that there is no end to it. Just as one wish is fulfilled then immediately the newer one comes up. So just the fulfillment of wishes will not improve the quality of life. To sum up, we can say that if the person has all basic facilities needed to sustain one's life and if one is satisfied with whatever additional one is having, then that is "Good quality of life".

You actually put the some of the words of what I feel would be the quality of life.. having all basic necessities in life fulfilled, then some challenges to keep us growing, spirituality to keep us happy and to be loved and to love fully in return.

Everyone has their own definition for their quality of life. In my own term, I want to be able to raise my kids and be with them 24/7. To have my husband and me to raise our kids together. Give them a secure and happy environment to live. A nice big home with everything they can possibly need and also with some wants too (like toys hehe). Be able to go spend quality time and quantity time with my love ones. Last but not least-shop shop and did I mention shopping.

Being able to spend quality time with family and be with them whenever I want is also part of my definition of the quality of life. Having work and being too busy is certainly far from having a quality of life even if that work pays so well...and of course...like you, it also means shop shop and shop for me. LOL!
