Cooked Exactly For Five: No Thanksgiving Left-Overs.

I tried my hardest to cook exactly for five people. Yep, I measured it to a T, so to speak. Nothing was left over except for a little bit of turkey which we'll probably devour tonight. We even drank all the Martinellis--pomegranite apple this year. Anyhow, how much of the meal was left over at your table?

A lot of my meal was left over. Of course, i had an 18lb turkey and I was the only one eating it. But it means I have lots of turkey for experimenting. I also had some yams, stuffing, rolls and veggies leftover. I'm thinking of doing a Thanksgiving casserole with some of the leftovers.

there's just me and my dear hubby so having left-over is inevitable :) i guess it would take us 2 more days to finish everything we prepared.

Well I thought I over cooked we had 13 people here and there is only enough turkey left for a small sandwich, 3 helpings of stuffing, and some green bean casserol.

We had plenty left over, but I don't mind that. It takes care of no cooking for a long weekend. We had turkey, cornbread dressing, corn casserole, sweet potatoes and lots of desserts left over.
That's pretty amazing that you had it all measured to a "t"! I'm impressed!

I have always had left overs, but it was only for a day or two. We would make soup out of the turkey or the chicken. We would fry the potatoes a day or two later, and since we had ham, there was ham with hash browns, ham sandwiches, and deviled ham. We would use the salad during the week, because I love salad and always make enough of it. Sometimes I would have some pieces of turkey or chicken left, and then if we had any gravy and we did not want to make hash browns, we would have the same meal a couple of days later. At least we did not have to buy too much for the next grocery shopping day.

Since I worked and my kids went to their friends house, we had plenty left over. I had expected a friend to come in case he did, but he didn't plus my daughter's friend stayed at her house, so we had some leftovers here.

I let someone else do the cooking this year, and there was nothing left at my table.
I got up, fixed my coffee, and walked over and sat on the beach for about an hour.
About Noon, we drove up the road to Hometown Buffet, and had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal(I ate a little of everything)nothing was left at the table, except 3 of my empty plates. I think I will try this more often, there was no clean-up either...

No leftovers!?! That's the best part of Thanksgiving! Cold turkey and stuffing at midnight, now that's what I'm talking about. I have tried to do that before, cook exactly the right amount, but not on Thanksgiving. We had lots of leftovers and I am going to put the whole turkey in a pot of water in a few minutes to make turkey soup. It is soooo yummy.

Yesterday's feast is just about all gone. We had lunch today, and the rest is going into a soup for lunch tomorrow. Oh and tonight I'm having Turkey with Alfredo sauce over pasta with fresh rolls.
No desserts left, no veggies left, no stuffing left, no gravy or mashed potatoes. YEEEAAAAA!! Everything will be gone.
I love leftovers, but a reasonable amount for a meal or two. I don't like having to eat the same thing for a whole week at a time. Sometimes I freeze some, or have guests take some home too, that helps me, and I don't like to waste food.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
Happy posting..
