Today my sister and I went go shopping for a wii. We have been saving up for one quite a while, and figured it may be best to see if the stores had it on sale on Black Friday. Well, we went to 10 different stores all over town, and could not come across one. We even checked Curcuit city and Best Buy online stores, but they are even out of stock there! Wow, the wii is very popular.

Must be all those old Mario fans out there. I am a bit too old for it, but I love Mario. I wonder if a sixty plus lady will not look silly playing one? I hope it is available up here in Winnipeg. I think it still is, because the last time I was in Future Shop and Best Buy CA it was still there.

No one cares how old you are when playing videogames. If they do, they should just mind their own business. The point is to do what you enjoy with your freetime and not worry about what other people think.

The Wii system has been chronically sold out for over a year now. The only way to get one is to call every electronics store every morning to see if they got a new shipment, then go immediately.

The Wii is popular but unfortunately it is a gimmick gaming system. I have a feeling that in another year or so people will tire of it. My brother recently got one and he and his friends already figured out that you can sit down and play all the games. What a waste! BTW If you are looking for a Wii many of the whole sellers have them still.

Don't play video game like that but yes they are hard to find my son has PS2 and he is very happy with it I just don't see no sence in spending all that money for a gaming system but i guess it was cause we didn't have them growing up

I was just talking to a friend of mine yesterday, she was planning on buying a Wii for each of her six children and stepchildren (they are all grown and some have families of their own, so it would be a gift to each family, really). Anyway, she had been buying games througout the year, but then couldn't find the systems now that she was ready to buy them. She kept checking stores and was at Sam's club (or BJ's or one of those type stores). The store sold the games but usually doesn't sell the system. Anyway, she saw several of the regular employees there but they were out of uniform and she asked them waht they were doing and they said "shopping." Then one came close and told her in a low voice that they had gotten a surprise shipment of Wii's and to follow her to the back of the store. There were about 50 of them in a pallet in the center of an asile, but no big sign or announcement had been made. So, she snagged her six systems and off she went. Someone at the checkout questioned weather they should be allowed to sell her 6 at one time, but the manager said that there was no sign saying that there was a limit per customer, so she was able to get them all. So, take heart, there are Wii's out there you just have to keep looking. Also, you could just wait until January and buy one then once the stores have a chance to restock. I know an "IOU one Wii" card under the tree isn't as exciting as the real thing, but it is far better than getting all stressed out or paying black market prices for something that is not exactly a necessity of life.

The wii was just as popular last year as well. I tried getting a wii and everywhere I tried was sold out. I was calling stores everyday. I was able to get a wii last christmas but it did take me standing outside in front of a store all night to get one. I do hope you get one, good luck on your wii hunt

This was predicted, according to that news report I once encountered in yahoo. But, like what someone else had responded in this discussion earlier--nintendo doesn't intend to meet the demands, that's why wiis will be sold out. I do hope you and your sister will manage to get your hands on one, it's really a worthy investment.

I have heard of them selling out everywhere. My husband and I plan to get one after Xmas into the new year sometime. We have wanted one for awhile, but keep hearing about how they sell out everywhere. I wish you the best of luck and hope you're able to come across one soon!

My Dh is a manager for GameStop. If you really want a Wii, contact your local store and ask what time they usually get shipments. They never know when the Wii is coming, so call EVERY DAY at that time until they say yes we got them, then RUN down there. Patience is needed, but it will pay off. Especially if you are a friendly, polite person because then the employees will be more forthcoming with information and maybe even hold one for you. Good Luck! I got mine the day it came out and I love it.

Oooh still have a supply issue with the Wii, eh Megumi. That's too bad. *Continues playing Wii Sports* XD sorry I had too! I do hope you somehow find one though Megumi. Its best just to repeatedly check all the stores out. Even ones that are a little outside of town. Make calls first though to check it out.

My husband and I bought a Wii as our joint Christmas gift this year. The reason we already bought it is because the guy at Fry's told us that they would be sold out right after Thanksgiving if not sooner and would more than likely remain that way until after Christmas. I've been trying to mention that to everyone I see wanting to buy a Wii for Christmas. I'm sorry that you and your sister got stuck with that and weren't able to find one.

It seems to be picking up in popularity these days. I didn't think it was going to be that popular with the XBox 360 and all that craziness. My husband and I are looking into getting one, but it won't be until after the holidays for us. Have you tried the gaming stores like EB Games, Gamestop or maybe even Radio Shack? There is usually one in your local mall. They may be a bit pricier but you can at least get one. Also, sometimes you can sell your old games from your other gaming systems and they will credit you with store credits and that can help you save money towards your Wii. That's what my husband does. He gets rid of his old games he doesn't want, they give him store credit and he saves it up for awhile until he finds what he wants and he saves money that way.

If you want to pay less for a wii wait until the supply and demand drop. With the Wii being popular I am sure Microsoft and Sony will do what it takes to compete against them. When the wii becomes less popluar that is a good time to get it. I did go to Coscos and they didn't have any wiis there. It seems they aren't selling any wiis but they are selling xbox 360s. Gamecube and Nintendo 64 weren't ever as popluar as Wii. I wonder why.

Oh wow. My brother and I were thinking of getting a Wii. Maybe it was just sold out today because of the Black Friday sales? Hopefully there'll be new stocks before Christmas though...

Your best bet is probaly going to be ebay if they are sold out everywhere. The problem with that is they are going to sale for a higher price on ebay since they are sold out everywhere! Maybe the stores will get some in before Christmas. Good luck finding one.
