Do you hang all your Christmas cards up? If not what do you do with them?

DO YOU SAVE ALL YOUR CARDS EACH YEAR OR DO YOU THROW THEM AWAY.? Why do you feel this way about it?

We recycle everything this can be recycled, so all our cards after Christmas go in the special crate the council provides us to put in which they collect, failing that a lot of shops have boxes in the stores where you put your old Christmas cards in to be sent off for recycling. That way we are helping the environment. I do save my birthday cards but not Christmas cards.

I usually arrange my cards on top of the entertainment center but have some years hung them around the living room. I save all cards - I still have Christmas cards from my grandparents when I was little - my grandparents are gone but I enjoy reading the little messages they wrote in the cards.

I use them in my scrapbooks. It makes it a lot cheaper to make them and it's a way of using something that otherwise would have been thrown out. I do hang them on the tree until I take Christmas decorations down.

I save the cards and toss them out the next Christmas. We have a few that are used as a part of our Christmas decorations. They are just too pretty to toss out. We do display each card we receive. There was a time when I taped them to a door. I ran out of space and had to use the side wall. Now we don't get as many. The cost of stamps is crazy high.

I have always displayed our Christmas cards on our door. I tape them on each year but last year, we ran out of room on the door.. This year, however, I am going to hang a clothline up and hang them on it. I think it will look cute with red ribbons between the cards.

Hi eaforeman6, When I was a kid, my mom used to string red and gold cord across the wall, with nails at each end. We'd hang all of our Christmas cards this way, and we received 'a lot.' Nowadays, I don't use this method, but stand them up in our entertainment unit, and on the shelves. We don't receive nearly as many, as back then, but I really love to receive them. It's the best time of year, mail wise. I'm definitely a card saver, and enjoy saving the many special ones that I receive, for sure.:)

WE don't hang them up but we do display them on a card holder on the table in our hallway. To get to the living room people pass it and will see the beautiful cards and display my mom created.

I recycle everything including cards. Some I shred before recycling. I like to keep them only for one week or two.

We used to hang all of our christmas cards on one of our curtains in the living room or on the back of the closet door by the front door. Just someplace to display them. And I have cards saved from several years. We always saved them so we'd know who to send to the next year. If someone sent us one this year and we didn't have time to send one back, they'd get one the next year.

I used to keep all of my Christmas and birthday cards from very close friends and family (Christmas is my birthday so they came at the same time!). I still have quite a stack of old ones. I would hang them around an archway in my house and enjoy them through the holidays. A couple of years ago I started scrapbooking and decided that there must be something that I can do with them to preserve them without sticking them in a box somewhere. So I started creating a scrapbook page with each years cards. I put the year on it and take the lovely scenes and make something memorable with them now instead of sticking them in a box. I've also been known to use the parts that I don't use in my scrap book as gift tags.

We get very few cards anymore, I'm sure due to the increasing postage and the availability of calling long distance with cell phone packages. The few we do receive I display on a shelf until after the holidays. Then they are put with my ribbons and the following year, various parts of the cards are cut into gift tags. I feel good about recycling the cards in this fashion. There is no way a person could keep every greeting card they receive!

I tape mine to the woodwork surrounding our door. Afterward, I was donating them to a religious group that took the pictures, used them to make new cards and resold them. This helped orphans. But I'm not part of that religious group any more. I keep them in a box in case I find that group again. I sort through them for decoupage or to make presents in years I don't have much money. Take care

I usually tape my Christmas cards up on the front door as they arrive in the mail. The day after Christmas I take them all down and throw them away. I do this because I don't like clutter. I know, I'm a humbug!

Since I was a kid, every Christmas card we got we would hang on the wall or display on a table or counter. One year we got a little creative and put strings on the wall next to the Christmas tree and every card would be hung from the string. By the time Christmas was over I believe we had the cards on the wall in the shape of another tree. We still hang up every card we get even though it seems the amount of cards we get each year is less and less. I don't know about everyone else in the house but I save every Christmas card I get. I still have Christmas cards I got back when I was in elementary school. I save them because it's always fun to look back at them and remember things from the time any card was given. It's pretty cool the things you can remember just by finding an old card you got 10 or more years ago, you know?
