I didn't use to believe in PMS. (pre-menstrual syndrome) I thought it was just a lame excuse for being a snotty b*tch. The older I get the more I can see a relationship between my moods and state of mind at the same time each month. My hubby is the one that can tell when my time is approaching. I am now a believer in PMS. Of course my cave man co-worker says it is all a myth. Of course what does he know he is a 40 year old bachelor! What do you think?

Hello whywiki,
PMS is a fact. It is a slight behavioural changes occur in ladies, because they undergo hormonal changes everymonth. The symptoms are anger, irritation, lethargy, stress and even depression. All these symtoms disappear once they menstruate. Again from the fifth day of the new menstrual cycle they undergo these symtoms until next menstruation.
I have posted a separate posting on PMS and asked the men to be more helpful at that time to their wifes or understand their behaviour at that time.

Different women act differently during that time of the month. I heard one woman don't do anything different during that time of the month. I also heard that some women crave certain foods during that time of the month.

Even though I have a hard time recognizing my mood changes, I believe in it. Most of the time, I think I'm completely justified in calling my boyfriend and crying on the phone for no reason or getting upset over nothing. He's the only one who notices it, probably because he's the only one I take it out on. But ever since, he always mentions it and I'm a believer. I'm better at controlling it now that I can recognize it.

I never used to get it when I was a teenager but now that I'm older, I can feel it more!! I do feel a lot moodier around the time of the month and people around me notices and stay away!

PMS is definitely real. Fortunately, I don't get it too bad, most of the time. But occasionally it is bad, and I don't even recognize it as such until after the fact. I guess when you feel sad or moody you don't think logically. Then when the time comes and I realize that is what it was, I feel better. Just knowing that there is a solid reason for feeling the way I do is a comfort. And you are right, what does a 40 year old bachelor know about PMS? Hmmmmm, I wonder why he isn't married?!?

I have my period too right now and am up and down with my moods I keep arguing with my husband and have even fallen out with my mum I get such bad moods. I am usually alright throughout the month, but before, during and after my periods I have the most horrendous pms. I really believe it is due to my periods.

I do have it. Though I also too thought it was a myth I started to see that my mood and physical body would alter just before I got my period. I used to always get in fights with my mother and get kicked out of my house and sure enough a day or two later I would get my period. It isn't a myth in my book.

I do believe that PMS is a fact.
I'm a girl so i can say that. There many times during my period that I found my mood really swings. I get more sensitif, I get moody. Actually I'm still moody when I'm not on my period but when I get it it gets worst.
I can't explain that, but I often heard many guys think it's just a myth and they says how girls just using it to get tolerate for her behaviour.
Boys...?!

I also was a non-believer in the PMS myth until recently. I am now 32 and have began to notice a pattern in the depressive moods, the abrupt mood changes, etc. I was also diagnosed with Depression recently, but had to do a med change to help with the PMDD symptoms.
