What's the longest time you've stayed Awake?

I stayed up for almost 2 days working and cramming on the final draft of my thesis. On weekdays, I couldn't work on my thesis because of the stressful, physically and emotionally challenging internship. I swear I almost had a nervous breakdown from all the stress and the lack of sleep. I remember crying because I was too tired and ready to give up. Nowadays, I can last a maximum of 24 hours in front of the computer.

Just over 72 hours, and man, what a long stretch. I would never do that again. I was pretty much mental by the time I was done.

I"m not sure lighning, I think the longest was about 48 hours, but I might have dozed off here and there. It's becoming more complicated to me not to sleep enough, I sometimes find myself dozing off if I didn't. But in the past it was normal for us to leave work on a friday party until sunday night and then go to work straight, sleeping little. I guess now I have to catch up on my sleep :)

Back in college there might have been two instances where I had to stay up all night to finish a report. So the longest that I have stayed awake is probably around 30 hours. Man, I felt like a zombie! I'm sure glad those days are over!

41 hours during a two-day, 48 hour Sci Fiction movie Marathon led by the seniors at the college I attended back in September of 1984. I thought I could hang in the two whole days with just bottled water, some chips or refreshments they had to serve during this but sleep got the best of me and I missed the end of War of The Worlds . . .

The longest time I've stayed awake was when I got really addicted to the online game I'm playing LOL =) I stayed up for about almost 3 days... I didn't really feel sleepy and I'm so excited and busy coz I'm playing my favorite game of course hehe.. =) But I don't do it anymore coz sleeping is always needed to refresh one's energy for the day and I'm anemic so lack of sleeping is one reason for loss of blood , that's what they say

Maybe 26-28 hours. I was young & the body can do things like that then. I would sleep 8-10 hrs, screw up my schedule & have to get straighten out again. I figured out that craming for finals & being over tired just made my grades worse in college, so I would start my prep early, put together outlines of my notes, review them the night before a final, & go to be early. I would review them again before the final. And hope and pray I had figured out what the prof was wanting for info. I did pretty good because I learned what kind of tests he did from the previous exams he'd (she) give during the semester. The only semester I did poorly, I totaled a car at the first of the semester - should've just dropped all the classes, but I was in too much pain to go over to the admin building to do so.

Hi Lightning Strike! I think the longest time I have stayed awake was two days tops. I was beating a deadline formy orders at that time and simultaneously, I had a wedding that I was planning and coordinating at the same time. But after that, I was not able to really have that enough rest and sleep that I badly needed. I remember I only slept 4 hours after that but really had to drag myself out of bed because of other commitments in work. LOL! Take care and have a nice day. :)

Over a whole weekend one time. Two sleepless days during a major project week a couple of weeks back. So about 60 hours or so. I'm looking at your reasons again... it seems like mine are only studying, work, projects. A few times it was gaming, but not nearly as much as the reasons I just picked out. Its interesting to me...seeing this and remembering it.

Hi,there! The longest time that I've spent without sleeping is about 27 hours.I remember pretty well it was the time that we had a graduation party for our university life.All of my classmates went to have dinner together and then we had a celebration.We went to KTV and sang songs loudly there.We also danced happily and chatted with each other freely.That was a wonderful night though might be a little bit crazy.I stayed over night and the next morning wrote another small thesis for my final thesis.So I went to bed at about 10:30am.However,I was not too sleepy that day:) Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day^_^

Hello,Lightninstrike!unless any situation arises i never keep myself away from sleep because seep is most vital for health.during my college examinations continuously i had set in the chair for 48 hours and completed my preparation three papers of economics.during this time i had not taken my bath even.i did my launch and dinners in the chair it self.and after that,i could not stand straight for some time.and for the second time i had set by the side of my father during his last days for 56 hours had no sleep for 72 hours.this time i fell ill for nearly five days.thank you and good luck.

I think mine was 80 hours or something like that. I had this major final to study for and I hardly knew any of the information so I just sat in a room for 3 days straight looking at a book, without coffee or anything. I think I was on some sort of adrenaline rush for knowledge or something. Haha. Strangely enough, I wasn't tired at all during that time, not even during the test! I might have gotten around 1 hour in between there...I can't quite remember! But I here every 15 minute nap you take can last you 4 hours before you start feeling tired!

longest that i have stayed awake was almost for 1 week.. back injury causes this i have been diagnosed with being an insomniac... after i did fall asleep i slepted for 3 hrs
