When my husband and I moved into our new home three years ago I did not have a place to put my teapot that I collect. The boxes of teapots where put up in the gargage loft. When my twin was visiting in October we got all the boxes down. I now have my teapots on display. My husband has had to put up shelves for display. My entertainment center is full of teapots around my TV, VCR, DVE, and sterio. I have over 200 teapot and not two alike. I buy the ones I like, I do not have money to buy expensive ones. What do you collect?

I collect snowmen and women, firefighting stuff and law enforcement memorabilia. I figure I will count my snowmen when I put up the Christmas decorations, I've added several more this year. My s/o was talking the other day of building me some display shelves for all the firefighting stuff I have. I have shelves in the computer room for the law enforcement stuff and shelves for his harley collectibles.

Teapots on a shelf in front of window. - My dog has to be in all photos so here is Petie and more of my teapots. I do not have one of my snowpeople.
I should send you photos of my three snowmen/snowoman teapots that I have. I love them I just unpacked them today because they where with the christmas items. I think I will keep them on display with all of my other teapots. Here is some more of my teapots that I have on a glass entertainment table. My dog Petie has to be in all photos so here he is. I have had to move the table out from the window some because Petie kept climbing in the window to see out and knocking over my teapots. My front window is only 8 inches off the floor and goes almost to the ceiling. I love looking out the view. I love most of all coming home and seeing the dog and the cats at the window looking out.

Those are lovely, my mom loves tea pots also. I would love to see your snowmen teapots. I would leave them out with all the others. I usually leave my snowmen out til March, since it's cold up here til then.

When I was younger I use to collect rocks. I had a really good collection until my mom decided she was tired of having "dirty" rocks in her house and she got rid of them. Now I don't collect anything because I don't really have the time. I'm a college graduate student and doing school work is my main hobby now. Maybe later in life I will be able to collect something interesting.

I did not start collecting anything until I was over the age of 40. I was to busy with raising a family, working and going to school. Now that I am older I have the time to appreciate my collection. I also do not have to worry about little kids breaking the collection.

i have collected many things over the years from cobalt blue glass (remember the old vicks jars?) to antique books to flower frogs (they are glass globs with holes in them that they used to put in the bottom of vases so make the flowers stand up straight) to salters (salt dishes prior to salt shakers) to salt and pepper shakers. currently i am collecting post cards. i was give about 10 or so from the late 1930's from the detroit (michigan) area that were sent to my aunt here in ontario (canada) from her sister.

How wonderful you collect so many varied items. I did not know what the things where called that you put in the bottom of vases. I now know they are flower frogs. I thought the salters where called salt cellers, or sellars. Do you have the spoons that went with the salters? My friend has several salters, she has a collection of salt and pepper shakers that is over 2000 and growing. She has them displayed in china cabnets. I have helped her put the salt and pepper shakers in place. What work that was. One time we packed them up so she could get new carpet and then had to help her unpack them. Never again!

I mostly collect "vacation" stuff. When I go on vacation I always get a shot glass. I have about 30 shot glasses still in storage somewhere (I think at my mothers). Even though I have some shot glasses from the same place, I know who I went there with and what happened on that trip. I also collect playing cards - and I use them too - when I go on vacation, but they're not a must-have like the shot glasses.

Cool, I collect Hotwheels cars and have about 300 or so, some are rare's called treasure hunts and others are boxed sets. My nephew loves them and has started a collection of his own as well. So now its sort of a family thing. The other thing I collect is bonsai tree's. I buy them as young saplings and hope to keep them alive and growing for many year's to come. At the moment I have three different types.

I only meant real cats, not the other animals... LOL. I understand that giraffes can be pretty mean, got that from a guy who worked at a zoo who was attacked by a bull, the electric fence was the only thing that saved him.

I love collecting wooden masks. Most of my collections are handcrafted masks from Africa and here in PI.My hubby and I will be moving to our new home next year so we made the exotic masks as its theme of our new home with the lighting effect on it.I am getting excited and can't wait to see the result.

Wow how wonderful to be able to build a home around your collection. Our home has archways that are great areas for teapot shelves. This is where some of my shelves are. I have lots of archways to go. Oh how I can grow my collection. How exciting.

Love the pic. Kitty is adorable. I would love to collect tea pots. I've got a couple, but my sister has some extravagant and expensive one's; so I lost interest I guess. When I go to our cabin in Northern Minn. I collect walking sticks: The beaver chew them clean and to the right size. I like to collect musical instruments that I play. When I was a child I played a wooden recorder, then learned how to play a flute and piccolo. I have a dulcimer, but I don't enjoy playing it. I have two violins on which I enjoy playing fiddle music. I bet I could think of more, if I tried! Thanks for reminding me of all I can be greatful for.

My son is musicly talented like you are. He can pick up most insterment and play it with a little practice. He plays the drums, gutiar, piano, organ, and more. He works full time for the Amazon.com company but in his spare time he will play coffee houses. He sings also. I admire people with talent like that. I am good at needle work. I do not sing I think I am a bit tone deaf and since 2002 I have been deaf in my right ear that really puts a damper on what sounds I hear. I also do not hear in stero. Oh well enough about me. I admire your talent keep up the great work.

I love my teapots. This weekend we had company and my sister in-law could not believe how many teapots I have. I have around 200. I have not counted. She was supprised that my house is not kid proofed. I think that is silly we have not kids who come to the house. We have not grandchildren yet. She has two grandchildren living with her. One is 11 she is raising and one is 15 months.

I was looking at all the different photos you posted here of your teapots...they are beautiful!! How long have you been collecting them..you didn't say. I particularly love that one photo you posted where Petie has to hog the attention..LOL Question: Do you ever get worried that Petie or your kitties might break them? As for me, I guess the only thing you might say that I'm a collector of is books. I've tapered down over the years. I used to belong to every book club imaginable and then it dawned on me, that in most cases if I want to read a fiction book, just to go to the library and get the book out. But for some books I insist on having my own copy...like all the Harry Potter books, I even have a collection of the first three HP books in French! In general some of the Law of Attraction type books I buy as well. I began seriously collecting books during my college days, and believe it or not still have many of my college textbooks. I have books all over the place..even my linen closet that only has one shelf devoted to "linens" while the rest are storage for the books I just can't fit in my bookcases. The majority of my books, are sciences, history, philosophy, --let's put it this way I must have at least one book on every subject going. Now the question that pokes in my mind...will I ever have time to read all my books...LOL One thing I do miss. They used to have fantastic book sales at the library...practically had to have a truck to bring them all home..I mean who can resist books for only a buck?? Well they stopped the sales about a year ago...drat!

Ive been collecting for about 10 years. I started with one teapot from ebay and I was hooked. Yes I am afraid of the pets knocking over my teapots. the photo of Petie, that shelf I have had to move away from the window some so the pets can get to the window to see out without breaking glass. I have bought books at the library I did not know they stoped selling them. What does the library do with all the used books?

My most expensive teapot that I have bought was $60. I have several hundreds of dollars in my collection if you say every pot cost an average of $7. I buy what I like and if it is too expensive I will not buy it. My most expensive teapot I dropped in the sink cleaning it. My friend took it and glued it back together. You would never know it has an accident from a distance. A lot of my teapots where gifts and there is no price tag on a gift.

I love teapots! I collect them too, I think they're so pretty and make me think of girly things like tea parties. I only have a few so far, I can't afford expensive ones either so I go to consignment shops and get them there. My favorite one is shapped like an English brick house. I also collect silver trays, which I've gotten from consignement shops also. And I have a collection of Mother & Child nativity porcelins and art. I have the nativity sets as well but I prefer the ones with just Mary and the Baby Jesus, I think for me it just feels more natural as I was raised by a single mom. I used to have such a huge lingerie collection, I had to buy a special dresser to hold all of it. At one point I had over 200 pairs of underwear! I don't collect it anymore though.

I've been so fat for so long that if I had over 200 pairs of undies I would not be able to open my bedroom door. You know how big size 10-13 undies are? I am smaller now but still hate buying undies so I do not think I will ever collect undies. Unless I collect the ones that I have stretched out and have wholes in them. LOL

I collect toys. Right now I have two big boxes and one small box of Littlest Pet Shop toys. I thought they were so cute. They are all still in their packaging. They started out as mine, but now I am just waiting for my daughter who is almost 2 to get a little older. I am collecting them for her now. I really really want to buy those die-cast cars from the movie Cars. But I know they will end up in a box too. My boys are too old to care about them, and I am afraid my daughter won't like them when she is bigger. So far I have refrained, but I want them SO bad!

I collect sea shells. I love to collect sea shells and put them in my front yard of my house where all the plants are. I put stones in the front of the yard too. I had some really big ones and I have them over the fireplace of my new house now, because I love the ocean and I have one from every ocean I've ever been to around the world and some pretty stones too!
