I wanted to ask all the mylotters here what they think of people who only want to date/marry a certain race/races(whether their own race and/or a certain other race/races). Do you think it is racism? Personally, I think one should always look for love in a relationship irrespective of race, colour, etc because very few people are fortunate enough to find their true love and one shouldn't discard it on the grounds of racial preference. But I also believe that some people may have their own preferences when it comes dating/marriage because they find certain attributes of certain race/races more appealing than others. I have seen people who are perfectly fine being friends with people of all races and working with people of other races but only want to date a certain race/races. Would you call such people racists?

I do believe that its entirely dependent on the preference of the person. I really don't think its racism or anything. Like in my place Chinese, Spanish are what they called elite group of people in our society. But lately they have started opening up to the masses soon I do believe that these classes of people will mixed with the common people and their class would never be differentiated at all.

Hi Supersach, I can't call such people racists. If they were racists they wouldn't even want to make friends or work with people of all races. My personal opinion is that it's always better to marry our own race :)

Might not be racism as long as they accept people of different races as friends. But I'm sure they are narrow-minded if they think that only a certain race can make a good marriage or date. In reality, any person, by any race can disappoint if these people expect this much from one only race. They might not get what they expected if they choose somebody only by race.
