There's Nothing Worse Than A Cold Shower!

Today my husband had a day of vacation so he was home this morning when I got up. Now when I get up in the morning I have my own routine that I do every single morning without fail. I get up, turn on the coffe, take care of the animals, do the dishes and a load of laundry. I like to grab my coffee and then jump into the shower to get myself ready for the day. This morning my little routine was going just fine until my husband decided he was going to jump in the shower before me for a "quick" shower. His "quick" shower turned into a 20 minute leisurely soak. When I finally got in there I had just started to shampoo my hair when it happened. The water went from warm to ice cold and there I was with a headful of shampoo so I had to grit my teeth and finish with a cold shower. It only takes me about 10 minutes in the shower to get everything done but my husband and daughter insist that taking 20 minutes and using all the hot water is just enough time for them to get done. Does this happen in your house? How long does it take people to shower? Am I strange that it only takes me 10 minutes?

Oh my you poor thing, thats horrible, brrrrrrrrrr. I will wait for a little while before taking a shower if someone has just gotten done. I hate it when the hot water runs out. I am sometimes guilty of taking long showers. I start out to take a quick one and then the hot water feels so good its hard to cut it short. Its freezing here and I know its going to be cold when I get out of the shower.

I know what you mean even i I extend the time it's only about five min. maybe 20 if nobody needs to go after me but I can probably counto on one hand how many times I got that luxury last year, LOL!

When it is a shower, it takes me no more than 10 maximum 15 minutes. However, most times i prefer to have a bath and that takes much more time, about half an hour, but its a real pleasure. I turn on some music and lie into the bathtub until i sense water goes colder.

There is no way I'd be able to take a 10 minute shower unless I was really really pressed for time. The shortest amount of time it takes me in the shower if I'm lucky is about 15 minutes. But usually, it takes me about 20 minutes in the shower.

Some ppl can take 10-min. showers while others take longer. When my hair was long, it use to take me 45-min. to take a shower, 15-20 just for my hair. Now, long as I'm not achy, showers only take me 10 min.

Hot water is a real commodity in this house and our shower only stays hot for 7 or 8 minutes... if hot water has not been used up previous by dishes etc. So, no one takes a nice long leisurely shower and we all enjoy them! instead we get in get all wet, wet the washcloth and soap. turn off the water (freeze) wash our hair and body, turn on the water - (thankful for the heat on us once again) and quickly rinse off. It is all very efficient, but some days it would be nice to let the hot water steam up the room as you lavish in it!

No you are not strange for taking a 10 minute shower. I like to jump in and get my stuff done and hop out. I have better things to do than hang in the shower and run up the gas bill.

We have two and a half baths. Our master bath has its own water heater but it is small. The other two share one but it is a very large one. My husband and I cannot take a shower one right after the other. I refuse to take a shower in cold water

no it's not strange at all. for shower I don't take that long, for bath maybe more than 15 minutes depending if I'm tired or not. my husband takes less than 10 minutes for shower, and about the same time for bath if he is in a hurry. I can imagine two people using all the hot water total 40 minutes no wonder you don't have enough for yourself

I love taking a bath too, but I usually do it at night because that way I can take as long as I want so I can relax. Everybody else takes showers.

When I was in the shower a few days ago and after about 5 minutes the water turned from hot to so cold that I couldn't even stand in it! It felt like ice water raining on me. I stepped out of the shower, wrapped myself in a towel and walked shivering into the kitchen where my husband had the hot water on full blast. He was doing dishes, and don't get me wrong I appreciated it! But i had conditioner still in my hair and dripping. I had to wait to get back in because I couldn't fathom stepping under that freezing water even for a minute or two! He laughed and apologized. It's funny now, and I wasn't even mad then...but I was FREEZING!

Hey, doesn't your husband deserve a little leisure? For real, get him to install a quick recovery tankless water heater for the bathroom and your hot water woes will be over.

Yes he does, but when we both have to get ready and he says it will be quick that's what I expected and didn't get.

We usually ask each other too so we can space it out, this morning that didn't happen and WOW what a shower I had. I don't think I've ever showered that fast. It was like I had icecicles on my nose by the time I got out. LOL!

My dad used to do that to me all the time, and when I'm over that my best friend's house she does the same thing. I hate it. They both know I take a shorter shower, but they go first every time. No, you are not weird. I can take a shower in 5 minutes or less if I have to, but it's usually about ten. And that's even when I have to shave and do all that fun stuff.

I know what that is like. I hate cold showers, and when someone eats up the hot water, that is not good.

No, you are definitely not strange taking 10 minute showers; I take that time, sometimes less. However, when my two sons lived at home, they were in the shower for 20-30 minutes! We are on water restrictions here in Australia because of the drought, so I would turn on the tap in the kitchen to make the shower run cold - that did the trick!

We could not take shower of cold water in winter season. We take a shower of hot water in the morning of winter season. We can not stand and bear the cold water in winter cool season. How ever it is possible in hot summer to have a bath of cold water. We do not take morning shower at every day. We do it twice in a week. once on holiday morning and second at mid-week morning. However we take shower of cold water at every morning in hot summer season. cold water shower is enjoyable in hot season of summer. But it is injurious for health in cold winter season and we can not do it all.
