Postage stamps are going up again!

dont ya get a raise every year its been a year since stamps went up if they do it in may again!

They said you can buy the forever stamps, they are stamps for first class mail without the numbers on it. You can buy them now and after the increase the post office will still honor them. That would be great to save some money if you have lots of out going mail.

The mailmen that have to deliver mail door to door deserve an increase. They deliver in the good, bad and ugly weather. It's not an easy job. But I also think the government gets enough of our hard earned money. I still mail bills by snail mail because I'm uncertain if I want to pay online or not. Don't feel real safe paying bills online. So guess I am stuck paying the increase to get my bills where they belong so I can keep the electricity on so I can continue to play on myLot..lol

I read about this as well, estherlou, and am sooooooooo happy I pay all my bills online. I write/mail maybe 2 pieces of mail a month with 4 being the max. I just love rubbing it in whenever someone complains about the stamps going up when they have internet and can avoid stamps 98% of the time just by paying their bills online. Besides, with my bank bill-pay, I earn points every time I use it or use my debit card which I can convert to cash whenever I want.

i'm surprised they just don't flat out raise it to .50 and get it over with-i'm sure that's what they're edging towards. pretty much why i email more often than send letters anymore.it doesn't seem like much,but if you send out a lot of mail it does add up quickly.

Boy, I haven't mailed anything out for a very long time. Nowadays I don't think a lot of people use the postal service anymore. I pay all my bills over the phone now so I don't need to mail out checks anymore. I send out emails to my friends so I don't mail letters anymore. I send out packages by bus or plane so I don't mail them anymore. What else is there to send by mail? I can't think of anything else I would mail out.

That figures, everything else is, they might as well too. It all is except for our pay.

I heard this on the news today. I understand why they had to raise them this time and it is the only time I have ever understood. With gas the price it is now. I dont see how they could keep from raising it.

What in the world??????? My goodness what do they want us to do? Why pretty soon it will cost like a monthly bill just to buy stamps..I might have to just call my bills in and avoid the high cost of stamps...I guess my husband was right he said stamps will cost a dollar each just to mail a letter...soon....

Aren't the Feds wonderful?! I can remmber when stamps were a whole lot cheaper. The mail was not any better then than it is now. My husband works for a construction company and does not get any raises! The way the country is going it just shows that the people with money are better off than those of us who dont. I wonder what the price of overnight mail will now be? Pretty soon it will be just as cheap to send things UPS.

mailing letters is a luxury these days. here in canada it is 52 cents to mail a letter! no wonder people use email more and more!

It figures that they would be going up again. It is a little annoying, but in a way i can see why they are. With the cost of everything else going up it would be impossible for the post offices to keep their heads above water without raising the price. At least it is only 1 cent this time.

Just use email for all personal letters. The only things you ever need to send in the mail anymore are forms and packages. Even cards can be given to people using the internet, so just do what I do and save money by using email.
