I'm pretty sure that's how it goes but hey I'm sure if I'm wrong someone here will let me go...
Ok, bit of a 'rant' here but I certainly do feel like I've been getting a lot of lemons the last few days (week really).
Great idea came to mind for increasing my 'work from home' income... As some of my friends here know over the last year I was paid to write a series of e-books on "Internet Marketing" - well, I decided if I could do it for someone else why not for myself? Yea right - haven't had an hour to work on it.
We've had snow snow and more snow and I HATE DRIVING ON BAD ROADS.
I joined a few new traffic exchange sites (links are on my blog which is on my profile if your interested) but haven't had time to do any 'surfing'.
My daughter finally let my ex and I have the kids for a couple days and nights after not letting us have them for almost a month but I was so tired from not sleeping good I barely enjoyed them.
And, the worst thing of all is I'm not getting my email notifications from myLot again... This has happened in the past and usually straightens out on it's own but it's driving me crazy...
Ok, how do I get lemonade out of all of this?
Got tons and tons of hugs and kisses from grandson & granddaughter,
Although not totally healthy I'm alive and not in the hospital or under doctor's care - just soooo tired.
And, today the sun was shining.
So, my question to all of you - When you get served lemons do you make lemonade?

Hi faith,
When life gives you lemons, send them back and move on, or hand them over to God and let Him handle it.
When it's time for you to get busy nd increase your work load, it will be Him who leads you into it, and through it.
I know you know that.....
Are you taking care of yourself? Are you taking vitamins? How about an energy drink every now and then to help you out? It doesn't hurt to get a little extra boost now and then.
Praise God, I don't get served lemons too often, but when I do, I know there's a reason for it......

I love you, I love you, I love you - thank you so very much for reminding me. NO, I haven't been taking my vitamins and told myself before I went to bed last night that I was going to start doing that but as usual got up and started running without taking them.... Just a second....
Whew horse pill but I took my multi - thanks dear now if I can keep this up :) Now to figure out where to send these lemons to - I like that idea :)

You can lay the lemons down at the foot of the cross. The trick is - - - not to pick them back up again. Wipe your hands of the ordeal and believe that God has sent his ministering angels to deal with the lemonade.........They are all around you, today, as always.

Rant away all you want...LOL...I'll rant with you :)
Well I've had my share of lemons too, and since you know some of the things I've been through let's just say I've made A LOT of lemonade myself...LOL
I too have had a lot of grandiose ideas about really hauling my buns and doing more work, yet haven't done nearly as much as I should be doing and have to admit I've fallen into the dreaded procrastination when I should be focusing more on my work...and like you I wouldn't mind writing e-books...I hear all over the internet how people can really enjoy a nice income from that so heck, why not? Thing is I haven't a clue how to really start...maybe you could give me some pointers??? (You can privately email me about this)
I'm trying to get more serious about my photo work..I've just added some more images, mainly my black and white images on my photo website--now that I had figured out how to scan my B&W negatives, I AM admittedly having a field day working on my images.. I also just emailed some companies for hopeful bites that they might use my photo images--need to look at all my former list of contacts....yeesh, it's hard to self-promote....but then you've probably been there yourself and know what I mean...maybe not photos but your writing abilities.
Soooo...maybe the biggest barrel of lemons is just the fact that I haven't done all the work I've been promising myself to do...I just have to do it, if I'm ever to realize my goals and dreams becoming a reality...so...off to make some more lemonade--do you like yours with a lot of sugar and ice? hehee

Oh goodness, compared to your lemons in life I've just been getting little bitty ones - you could provide lemonade for half of myLot :(
'self promoting' that is exactly what is getting me so frustrated - I know how to do it, what and where - it's finding the time to do it. Everyone else seems to be regualating my time these past days and that drives me crazy. I want to just lock myself in a room for a week and do what I need/want to do.
We won't even discuss my own book book that I want to write or the 5000 digital photos I've take (amature that I am compared to you) I would love to figure out something to do with. I love taking pictures but am my own worst critic and nothing seems good enough.

That's funny in a way how you said that you just want to lock yourself in a room...yeesh, today I didn't even want to get out of bed...Yesterday it was lightly snowing, but then later at night it turned into rain, and it rained, and rained and rained...all day today...so one of those lazy kind of sleepy days for me. Think rainy, dull days affect me so I was tired all day too, even though I did sleep well. But nonetheless I did haul myself out...I'm just not used to being lazy, I always feel like I need to do SOMETHING...so I guess making a few contacts and emailing companies, some of the former ones that used to publish my work wasn't exactly nothing..and then like I said I added some more photos to my site

LOL - I had one of those days a month or two ago - I got out of bed for food, drink, and bathroom that was it. Really nice though I have TV, radio, phone, and laptop all within reach of my bed :)

Faith,
I have always tried to do just that. However, it seems to me that the older I get, the less I deal with stress in my life. To be honest, lately I am very concerned about this great country of ours. The choices for President are just scary.

LOL - same here, the older I get the more difficult it seems to be able to make lemonade.
I agree on the President thing all my adult life there has been at least one that 'impressed' me but this election I seem to be seeing 'concerns' about anyone who is running.

Agree with you 100% utuluk and keeping these thoughts in mind anyone should be able to make lemonade from the lemons of life - making something good from a bad situation.

Well I have heard...when life gives you lemons make some lemonade...but I personally like this saying alot better because it will put you in a better mood...when life gives you lemons...just add tequila and salt and you'll have an even better day lol But I mean there is always an upside to each and everything that life throws at you..you just really have to look at the situation and figure out what good can come out of it...and at the end of the day if you don't find anything good that can come out of it...take my advice...when life gives you lemons just add some tequila and salt lol that will brighten your day up alot lol Hope that I helped!!!

Man I can relate with this one right now. There just always never seems to be enough time in a day anymore. And then when you do get sick, it makes it even worse, as you fall even further behind on all you want to try and get done. For me, it does seem like when it Rains it pours, and I wonder how I will ever dig out from under it. But we just need to continue to be Strong, and know that it will be worth it all in the end.

I try real hard to make the best of each and every day. Am glad when I wake up knowing this is another day I am here and can enjoy my family even though I don't see our kids everyday. We talk on the phone and email each other. I look forward to going to work, only 3 days a week right now, but love my job. Not knowing how many more years I have to enjoy this life, I take it to the fullest each day and am thankful for everything and everyone in my life.
I haven't had any problems lately with email notifications but it generally happens about once a month. It's myLot's way of pms-ing. Eventually it turns around and is back to normal.
I sure hope things get better for you and soon.
Happy Valentine's Day,
carolbee

Happy Valentine's Day to you also - I was right, my notifications are working today, working and when I woke up I had a ton from the last few days. May have been a glitch in my e-mail account too - although I've been receiving all my other mail.
I make a point of each day no matter how bad it seems finding one thing to 'be happy' about. It is hard some days but even the similest of things can bring great joy.
Another great day of some sun today - overcast but oh so much nicer than the snow, sleet, and rain we've been having.

it does not mean that if you got lemons you have to make lemonade out of it. there are various ways to make use of what you have, you either take it as it is or creatively do something about it. or just simply throw it out the window if you do not really need it. you know most of the time it is simplier to take things as it is and let it pass because there are always days like these and you do not have to tackle each one of them if it comes your way. give yourself a break and have a kitkat!

Hi Faith, well life gives me lemons pretty much here lately.Like today for instance,i have been in such a blah mood,I do not feel sick in my body but i am tired, and really feel sorry for me..I really do not know what is wrong..Its like some heavy cloud hovering over...Then of course i get down because i do not see my kids so much, they are not pouting ,just distant, and those things don't help..When life gives me lemons,i really do not know how to make sweet lemon ade..I just feel like i am just sapped of entegy, and very tired but cannot sleep...All i can say is "I do not feel good"but really cannot identify why..I just hope in a few days thos mood or whatever it is passes....

I think I have been the queen of making that kind of lemonade for the last ten years, my friend.
I'm actually getting a bit tired of all that vitamin C
But the truth is that if I can't make lemonade off all the lemons I'm getting then I will go crazy so I have to keep trying until this lemon tree dries up or something.
I"m not sure of what to tell you, I know how it feels but don't know how to make it better, other than offering the "it will have to get better at some point". I"m sure that it will for both of us, after all there can only be that many lemons in a person's life :)
Hugs to you, the sun will keep shining and things will get better :)

ah to make lemonaide - bring to mind thoughts of Holy Job... The Lord He giveth, and the Lord He taketh away - blessed be the name of the Lord.
Think of all God suffered - and combine your lemons with those He was served and He will create for you the most delightful lemonade imagineable. Thank Him for all He sends your way - especially those precious lemons which permit you to unite yourself in some small oblation to His Cross.

yup, but sometimes it's easier said than done. for instance i am having this runny nose now and when i wear a jacket it makes me feel all stuffy and warm. and when i don't i feel cold.
didn't help that there was a huge lemon this morning in the form of a freezing cold rapid train carriage. it just doesn't feel like the tropics when they make the air conditioning so cold! what's the point? they should really save energy.
and now there is this renovation going on in my office. so noisy and full of strangers walking around our cubicles. and dusty. which sure doesn't help my nose.
so what's my lemonade in all this? a super long lunch out in the sunshine. yay.

I've never understood the airconditioning thing either - if it's hot outside why on earth would you have it freezing cold inside. It's a major shock to your system when you change locations. I'm sorry to hear you have a runny nose - sounds like it could be a cold coming on.
How wonderful that you were able to enjoy a long lunch in the sun - these days I'm thrilled if I see the sun but too cold to be out in for more than a few minutes.

Faith so sorry you've had such a difficult time. Sometimes it's hard to slow down when it all hits at once. But I don't really know "how" I get through it or if I do make lemonade. I do fuss and complain a lot, I think it's helpful to speak it out loud, you know get it off your chest. I can't keep these type things bottled up, I will just feel like exploding if I do. I also can't just sit around and let others walk all over me, they try sometimes. I think that setting limits & don't try to overextend your time. WE all have those days though, when it seems it just keeps piling on. Hope things have slowed down for you and maybe just smile...sometimes that makes it all better.
