Ugh, for the past 2 weeks, when I go to the grocery store, I have seen the Easter candy out and I just can't seem to NOT buy the Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs. They are my absolute favorite!!! First I bought a box (of 6) and ate 2 right away. I also took one to work with me, and by the time I got home there was only 1 left - my husband and son each had one. So, this past week, I bought TWO boxes of them. That was Sunday and today they're all gone - I ate the last 3 on my way to work this morning. I could eat probably 4 boxes of them in one sitting, I just love them so much. It sure isn't helping my diet any!!!

At this time of the year, the valentine's candy is still on sale! Up to 75 percent off, and those peanut butter cups come in valentine form too! I know what you mean about those being so irresistible! I make them myself, and to make them more healthy, I use ground flaxseed to add fiber and omega-3. To make them with less fat and calories, I use cocoa instead of chocolate chips.

I have had the ones from other seasons - Christmas tree and pumpkin-shaped ones but they just aren't as good as the Easter egg ones. Don't know why, but I just love 'em!
I don't know about making my own, I'd eat most of the ingredients before it was finished.

The regular homemade ones are easy! Just add peanut butter, confectioners sugar, and cocoa or use melted chocolate chips to make it easier! Some add butter too, but you really do not have to. Maybe that is why you like the Easter ones better, there is added butter in them! The store-bought ones might have transfat, or hydrogenated fat in them. We know it better as margarine or lard!

I have the same problem with Cadbury Caramilk Eggs! I actually gave up chocolate for lent because I ate so many of them. When I purchased everything that was on my tab at work the other day there was a total of about 12 of these eggs that I had eaten in the past two weeks. I am not a very big fan of reeses peanut butter things, especially the peanut butter cups. When I was a little girl I ate three of them and then proceeded to get very very car sick. I have eaten perhaps one peanut butter cup since, and that was only because my sister made me one halloween. They were good! but... too many bad memories haha. I would say that I could eat the entire bin full of caramilk eggs. I eat a ton of caramilk bars too, well I did while i was working in a convenience store. I gained thirty pounds from the time I started working there to when i stopped.

I have recently lost 10 lbs - 30 more to go - and if I keep eating these eggs it'll never happen. I just finished a small bag of m&m's so I'm done with chocolate for another 10 pounds or so!

I can understand why you don't like them any more - just means more for me though :)
I love the original cadbury eggs, but haven't had one in ages. I could eat them up pretty quickly too.
Hey, if it's got sugar in it, I'm all over it. I do have to slow it down though because I've lost 10 lbs (30 more to go) and I don't want to gain them back!

The cadbury cream eggs?! I LOVE those they are SO good! I can't eat as many of those in one sitting as I can the caramilk ones because they are so sweet. I started working in a convenience store and gained thirty out of the fourty pounds I had lost from eatng all kinds of chocolate. But I think I mentioned that in my alst post (hey gotta get my fifty words out!) You are more than welcome to eat my peanut butter cups! I would mail you a slew of them if I had any haha. I gave up chocolate for lent to try to lose some of the weight that I gained. One pound gone, thirty one to go. -sigh-

My favorites are Peeps. I start buying them as soon as I see them on the shelves.

Well, there's no chocolate in peeps, so that takes away most of the fun for me. I don't care for marshmallows either... That's always been one of my least favorite things, so I'll make ya a deal... I'll send you all my peeps, you send me all your peanut butter eggs...

LOL. Okay that's a deal. And you can be on a chocolate high, and I'll be on a sugar rush up until after Easter.

I can certainly understand that ... I eat about as much candy each week as the food in my meals ! I just have a high-metabolism so I burn it off quick. The thing I hate about holiday candy is you can only get certain candies a few weeks out of the year. Well, am sure you don't have much to work on with your diet so hopefully it isn't affecting things too much !

With the bad weather we're having, I haven't been out walking as much - I like to do at least 2 miles a day. I guess I've got to get my exercise in some other way if I want to keep eating the junk :)

The one thing I've never been able to understand is why for every holiday does the candy come out in stores like 2 months early. I don't get it. I am the same wqy though, I buy something in the holiday candy isle every time without fail. I think they do it on purpose.

Well, the earlier they put it out the earlier we'll buy it. Then it all gets eaten up before we need it so we have to buy more. I knew mine weren't going to make it past the weekend!

I have not bought any Easter candy. I am having a hard time finishing off the Valentine candy. I do not crave it at all, but if someone gives it to me, I will eat it. I am more of the type that craves pizza, and cheeses.

I only got one (small) box of chocolates and a bag of green m&m's for Valentines Day, so these things are really just working on me!!!

Sorry to hear about your weakness. My favorite is marshellow egg. I will not buy any because I have to gobble all down in one bite I swear.
I love them and will eat as much as possible. I was good with the valintine candy until the day after the holiday I both a small box of candy that had 4 pieces and it was half price. I saved both ways.

Well you have a way to go before it is actually Easter, so I am sure you will probably have lots more before then. I usually don't buy candy, but if someone brings in to the office, I don't mind endulging then. There is usually tons of it after the different holidays!

No, I'm done, for real. I'll just pretend not to see them in the grocery store for the next few weeks... I was so excited about losing 10 pounds, I want to keep that going. So, that was it, I'm done, I'm going to be strong! (i hope)

I was at the store yesterday and bought a whole pile of it for easter. Unfortunately a box has mysteriously disappeared last night and I fear the supply of goodies will diminish in the next few weeks. I hope to have something left to put out on Easter Morning.
*Never mind looking at the wrappers under my bed, it wasn't me* Honest
HAHAHA

I can remember waiting until the week before Easter to buy the candy or it'd be all gone! My sweet tooth also caused problems at Halloween - I remember having plenty of candy until it was time, then someone it had already been eaten... I never knew how those wrappers got in my car either...

Try and control yourself.
Too much chocolate is not good for you.
It puts on too much weight.
