With the advent of new technology, we can now download and watch new movie on internet, we can just also rent DVD/VCD or even buy and watch movie at home instead of going to movie theater. But still there are some who still prefer to go to movie theater.
Do you still go to movie theater? How often and for what reason? If you would be to choose, which would you choose watch movie on theater or watch movie at home?Me I still go there because the screen is big and you will be satisfied watching the movie. But unfortunately, in our place, there is no theater, only in big cities, so I only watch very often, if I go to big cities for some important matters.
How about you guys?

Hello Chiyosan,
Thanks for responding, well before there is a theater here in our place, but the owner is not able to finance the maintenance of the said business so have the lot sold. I use to see many teenagers with their partners going on theater. My elder sister too go on theater with her boyfriend. Usually, teenagers here who are in a relationship, prefer the theater to be the dating place. hehehe. But me, during the time theater here is functioning.

we only watch movies on the big screen when 1st: the movie is a blockbuster, 2nd: the movie has this super big banner/poster that you can pose beside it and take your pictures looking stupid, lol, 3rd: if we really, really love the actor, or it is highly recommended. other than that we only watch it on HBO or dvd. i dont download movies on the internet, just series!XD

Me, I can't watch in movie theater, everytime I want too because as I have said it is far from where I am. HBO is just one of our favorite channel and I always look for the movie being scheduled, if there is one that I would like to see, I would wait until it is time for the show of that certain movie. I also don't download movies on internet, because it takes time, and I don't want to wait longer time, it is making me bored, so I just watch movie trailer instead.

The only time we go to the cinema is if there is something really big and exciting like mine or my husband's birthday, and then we really do not like it because usually there is someone getting in late and his head or their head appears on the movie screen. If they made the seats so that it does not happen, I would not mind. I did like it years ago when the theaters were bigger and arranged better. But I prefer to watch at home. We do have our own wide screen Tv and besides no one is going to pop up their head in front of the Tv. The only thing I like is getting out, and maybe going to a restaurant, but that does not usually happen as my husband likes popcorn.

I haven't been in a long time because I can't justify the cost. Blockbuster nights are so much cheaper, and then we can pause the movie to use the bathroom. For the price of popcorn and tickets at the theatre, we can have pizza, movie, popcorn, candy and soda at home!

I dont need to go to a movie theater. I prefer watching my movies at home. So I can do whatever I want without limitations and rules to follow, No limitations on drinks and popcorns. With the one you love watching with you that would be very nice.

I don't remember the last time I went to a movie theater. Theaters are too expensive, and there isn't one near where I live. I would rather just wait until the movie comes out on DVD, and then I'll just rent it, or buy it, if it's really interesting.

yeah it is too expensive and watching movie on DVD or online via internet is affordable and just practical, but many still want to watch some time in theater as in theater, you can watch on big screen, the contentment is much felt, that is for my opinion.
Thanks for the response, Danish. Have a good day!

Never I get Netflix and very occasionally use pay-per-view on Comcast cable. It is way too expensive to go to the movie theater.

It has been a while since I last went to the movie house, maybe 2 months back.
I haven't really had that much time to go watch a movie, though I would want to. Good thing nowadays I am quite occupied with English series that I can watch when I get home from work.

I remember when I was in college, there is literature subject, we always watch movie related to the subject, and I enjoy it much with classmates around, later we do discuss the movie and it made me understand well the movie after hearing discussion.

It has been years since I went to the theater. I like to watch movies on my DVD. That way if I have something to do while I am watching the movie I can just pause it, go do what I need to do and start it up right where I stopped it. I don't like to watch movies online because of the size of the monitor that I have. We have a 36 inch television.

That is part of my thing, too...I rarely ever just sit for two hours and watch a movie. I am almost always doing something else while I watch.

I sure like watching movies in the big screen, especially if I like the reviews of the movies. I do download old movies though, or the ones I missed due to my busy schedule. Even if we do have a cool entertainment system, nothing beats the feel of being inside a cinema. Less distractions, I guess.

Yeah, there is less distraction as most of the people inside the cinema are focus on watching the movie. The only loud sound you can hear is coming from the movie.
Thanks for the response.

I go to the movie theater about twice a year. The only time I go is if there is movie my son wants to see really bad. It is cheaper to just wait until the moive comes out on dvd and rent it.

Yeah it is cheaper, but chances are, children will not be as excited for it to watch, because they would have already hear the story from other children. But it would be more practical.

i watch films (mostly old) that i missed on dvd. but my wife and i love watching movies on big screen. it makes the film so real added up with super boosting sound system. sometimes we bring our kids with us. we watch movies almost every week. most of the time, we ran out of films to watch coz we've seen them all.

That would be a family day. Here in our country, we consider Sunday as a family day, some do go out and eat, visit zoo, go to beach, while some others those who are in big cities do watch movies in theater. It would be a great time, but it would cost much if done weekly.

I only go to the theatre when I can't wait for the movie to come to DVD...I'd rather be in the comfort of my own home...If I need to do something I can pause the movie and come back to where I left off...I do enjoy going to a drive-in in the summer time...

If I watch movie, I don't want it to be cut in the middle and watch again later. So I always set time, where I will not be disturbed so I can watch the movie in full and continuous. I will enjoy it more. The thrilling increases and I will not be bother thinking what will be the next scene, just like when you are watching soap operas.

I always like to go to movie theaters. I can't just find the right time to be there. Before, as I can remember, I go there almost every weekend. Whenever I'm stressed out, it's so nice to hang out in cinemas with very dark and cold ambience. I wish I could go there this weekend. I miss the thrill of watching movies in cinemas.

You must be in an area where there is a theater. Lucky you. But me, I have no choice but to wait until I can have the chance to go to other cities. It would be very expensive and impractical to travel far just to watch movies. But yeah, the ambiance of movie theater is really nice, I feel comfortable when I am inside theater.

Hi there! I don't go to the movie house anymore but that's because we don't have any movie house here in the province. I think it's more practical if you'll just wait until the movie comes out on dvd or vcd or just download it or watch it online. We only go to the movie house, my husband and I when we're going out on dates.

Well, I guess I am more practical than yours because I watch movies only on TV, lol. We don't have DVD or VCD at home, so we only watch movie on TV or online.
I only watch newly release movies if I go on movie theater and that is very rare.

that would be good for you to have DVD, me I don't have, so if there is a movie I really like to see, I just watch the movie trailer on internet.

Watching at the movies is an experience, it's something nice to do going out with friends and it's much more fun to see a movie at the cinema. I see movies at the cinema only every so often, just a few times a year - because of the money. The only negative thing about it is that it's not exactly the most sociable thing to do with friends - but it's definitely the best way to see a movie!

Yeah, I agree with you, it is best of watching a movie, the screen is big and sound system is of quality, the ambiance is good and you can eat while watching. There is a big chance you could focus with the movie, because lots are there to really watch the movie and all will be engross, unless you go to a movie with your love one for a date, that is kinda happening here.
