I see the same girl every time I go to the hair dresser. About 4 cuts ago she wasn't in and I went to one of the other girls. I just needed a trim she can't screw it up too much right ?!? WRONG!! My husband is not one to notice when I get my hair cut but he did that time! He was like "Don't do that again" lol. Hey at least he noticed. After that I call before I go to make sure my girl is in. She's going on matertity leave soon and I don't know what I'm gonna do in the mean time. I guess my hair will have to grow for the 3 months.

I have 2 girls I go to. I have been happy with both of them. And they work at the same place. Which is very nice. If one is out, I can usually get the other one, If not we leave. THey are also the only 2 I let touch my kids hair. I learned from bad experiences.

Isn't it the pits you find someone who does a great job and she is not in so you trust the other person to do a simple cut and they make you look like Morticia.I have had that happen to me too the gal who did my hair was new and I thought perhaps she would be really up on things. well wrong she cut my hair longer on one side than on the other and on top of that instead of the usual fifteen dollars she charged me twenty one for a lousy looking cut. of course eventually it grew out but I made it a point to come only on the days she worked. Now shes moved to a newlocation and I did not get her phone number woe is me

No I switch up from time to time. I have curly hair and there's no one in this area that I know who is really good at cutting curly hair. I think next time I'm going to Memphis (about 80 miles) to get my hair cut. They have people there who are suppose to be specialists in doing curly hair. I go to Memphis every few months anyway so I might as well get my hair cut while I'm there.

well, i too would say that i go to the same hairdressing salon everytime though it is not that often. but for me, i think there are about 3-4 girls who have done my hair so they more or less know my boring style. grins it's the same salon though with different people doing who basically know what i want.
i too once went to another one with my friends. it seems they go to that one more often and i had my haircut. but the fringe was a bit too short and my hubby was not that pleased though i felt that it gave me a different look and i was fine with it. but still, i felt uncomfortable going to a new salon so i still visit my regular one.

I had the same long hair for a LONG time. Then my Mary Kay director said to me "Erika you really need a change" I didn't look at it as a bad thing she really was trying to help. So I searched the internet till I found a few cuts. I asked my husband which one he liked and then got the cut he DIDN'T pick. He loved it after a few days. My hair went from being down the middle of my back to above my sholders with a real "style". It didn't help my Mary Kay business but it was a needed change.

haha i wonder what your style is. it might come in handy for me too. grins, i agree sometimes, we really need the change though i'm sure my hubby won't approve of it at first. that was funny, saying that you picked a style that your hubby didn't pick. hehehe

i used to just go to the local hair cut places in town, but when i went out of town with a friend so that she could get her hair done from her friend/hairdresser, i decided once to get my hair cut too. and i have never looked back. it's so nice to be able to sit in the chair and say "do whatever you want" and come out looking fab-u-lous!...even if it means travelling 4 hours out of town...

i guess i'm pretty lucky that i don't have anything that stops me from getting up and going whenever i want (that is as long as i don't have to work)! so as long as i can keep doing it, i'm gonna keep doing it..yay me!

oh, and we don't just go to get hair cuts, we also do some shopping and visiting and whatever else we feel like doing when we're there...so it also means a chance to get away from home-which we take every opportunity to do...

I see the same girl also. I made the same mistake you did last time and popped in without calling first to verify her hours. I thought that it would be an easy task since I have a simple cut but the girl totally cut mine too short. I asked for it to be left long enough to put in a pony tail. It wasn't. I was pretty ticked off. I'll always wait for the other girl from now on. I learned my lesson the hard way, as you did!

LOL I have a rough time finding someone to cut my hair the right way so when I do find them I tend to stick to them like glue. I finally found one the last time I had it cut and hopefully she will be around for a long time.

I have had long hair most of my life. About a year and a half ago I cut it all off. I'm talking about 8 inches in just the length. It was a HUGE change. I have kept it short for that year and now I am going back to long. Hubby wants it long again so I'm willing. Plus I have found that long hair is easier you can just throw it up if you don't feel like doing it. Thanks again for sharing!

I just went the opposite way...I had long hair for the longest time and have recently started keeping it short. I like it short b/c it's so easy to take care of...Hubby likes it long though...so we compromise. Long in the winter and short the rest of the year. It works out.

It depends on where I am. Usually if I'm in my home town, I will see my regular hair dresser. But if I'm traveling i will do my hair myself until I'm able to see my regular hair dresser again.

Yep,
I go to the same hair dresser everytime. It took him about a year to convince me to even let him touch my hair and then once he convinced me he moved like 500km away to another city, needless to say I take the trip to go & get my hair done. The people who I work with are always ragging me about going out of town to get my hair done, but yet they are always complaining about their hair-cuts guess they don't see the same person....lol

Yep! my sister cuts my hair. She's had her license for about 8 years now, and I would never let another person cut my hair, she's never got it wrong. But I only get my hair cut once or twice a year [I love it long]. That sucks to hear about your hair getting messed up! I would hate having to see someone else to cut my hair 'cause they don't know how I like it. You could say half an inch and they cut two. And I wouldn't be happy with that. Goodluck waiting for your hairdresser to come back, haha.

I do now. When I first moved to GA, I lived in the Atlanta area and once I found someone I liked, I stuck with him for a couple years. Then I moved to metro Atlanta and went to see him a few more times but the distance to get to him was not worth it. So, I looked for someone new out by me and about 2 years ago, I found her. Now, as long as she is around, I will stick with her.

I go to three salons (not at the same time lol), so when one is not available, I still can go to the other ones. They have different styles in cutting hair and I think they are all good. Aside from that, I'm not that meticulous when it comes to haircut. I also try to visit other salon to check out what's new with them. If I'm not impressed, I don't go back to them.

Yeah, I usually go to the same person. I decided to try someone who was a little less pricey, and he totally screwed up my hair! SO, I went back to my previous hairdresser to fix it. I've learned my lesson!
