I was also hesitant to shop online at first, especially because I've heard so many stories of some people being duped. But really, ebay is a very good place to find almost anything. Just make sure to check the seller's reputation (feedback) and only transact with those whose feedback is 100% positive.

Oh - I've gotten really burned a few times! One, for example, was that I bought a wedding dress on there. It said it was a size 2, but when I received it, it was a size 4. BIG difference. Once I contacted the selling, she said it fit her like a 2! I asked for a refund for the item AND shipping, which was refused. SHe charged $80 for shipping (which she said was actual shipping cost,) but actual shipping was $35. I obviously didn't want to be out $80+$35 just for paying shipping, so I kept the dress. I obviously was VERY pissed about the situation! I also don't think ebay does enough to protect buyers in situations like this. Paypal started a discussion, but the seller never responded and the case was closed.

I will shop any where I can get the best deal. With ebay though you do have to becarefull. There are frauds every where. When you buy on ebay make sure you keep good records. CHeck their other auctions to see what other people have to say about this person. When I make a purchase from ebay I make a copy of the letter ebay sends me telling me that I won. I also write the seller and get the mailing information and then I copy that. I also ask that the seller email me when they have mailed the item. I copy that. I do not deal with people who have negative feedback that has to do with not sending the item they bought at all. I do not deal with people who have more negative feedback than positive. I have bought off ebay and been cheated out of money and the item I bought. Ebay is much better now with security and fraud. I think ebay is a good place to make purchases. Just remember good records keep you safe from fraud.

I've been buying and selling on ebay for years. So far most of my experiences have been good ones. Carefully reading the auction and checking the seller's feedback can make your chances of good transactions be better.

eBay is one of my two favorite places to shop online. I have been buying and selling on eBay for several years now. I do check a seller's feedback and if they have negatives, I read what they are- sometimes you can see the buyer is just being difficult. Sometimes, the seller's responses to said buyer will tell you alot about what type of person they are. I rarely buy from someone who won't take Paypal- any other form of payment is a pain for me and like oneandone said, Paypal provides some protection. I have never been burned on eBay- oh a few non-paying buyers here and there, but certainly never any major issues with sellers. Read the listing closely. Check out the photos closely. Factor shipping costs into the price you are paying- they add up quick! (especially if they are overcharging and many do.) And know your retail value of stuff- it isn't always a great deal once you add in the shipping.

My husband and I have been buying on ebay for the past few years and have never had a problem. The main thing is to make sure that they have the payment option you want to use, ask questions if your unsure about something and I always find out the shipping before I buy. I'm in canada so alot of times I have to ask the seller! For any Canadian ebayers out there if the item you buy is over $20 you have to pay duty. So we don't buy things over that amount. I love ebay too. I've gotten some really great deals there!

I don't mind buying there at all... I have actually sold there also. I do know you have to READ everything reall well... and if you have any questions make sure and ask them. Also, check the persons feedback. That is very important! Hope I was able to help you! :0)

Feedback ratings are essential! Also make sure they have a return policy in place. lastly keep track of all communications and lastly if you mail your money instead of use paypal use some kind of tracking in case they claim they never received payment. I usually don't buy big ticket items off ebay mainly because they are more likely to be frauds etc. Hope this helps
