With the quicken pace of technology and ecnomic development, the changes that have taken place in our life ,fristly people's living standard has been greatly improved, scondly most people are well paid and they can afford what they need or like.Last but not least more and more people prefer to enjoy morden life. But with the developing some person want to have a quiet life living in country side.
What do you choose?Countryside or Modern city?
For me ,i prefer to live in modern city when i am young,i enioy the exciting life. When i get old maybe 50 or elder.I will prefer to living country side.

I am sandwiched between the two. I hail from a village but no longer stay in a village. My wife comes from a city, we have a own house in the heart of the city. There is no such things as chirping of birds, growing of plants, swinging of the branches of trees with its leaves, there is no free flow of water. It is a life so artificial, I feel like running away towards the village, where people are friendly, helpful and atmosphere is free from pollution. But then how will I earn money for living?

definitely yes to modern life when i am still younger because that's the favorite of all youngsters out there...but when time got to old, you are bored of all those stuff and the only thing you want is to stay far from disturbances like in the country side home you experience peaceful mind.

of course i will choose modern life that full of new technology to explore, new gadgets to play with. But sometimes, i just love the peaceful and quiet environment in the village. But for now, while i'm young, have lot to treasure, i will choose living in modern city.

I think I'd say both. I work in the city yet my home is in a nearby province, about 1-2 hours bus ride. I like the city because everything changes rapidly and you can keep up with this fast changing world. I love the country since its relaxing and easy. Helps out in calming me down after work.

i think i would be able to relate more to modern life. i haven't experienced country life... so imight not stand having not much technology with me.. it won't be my option.. maybe not in a million years as i am soo used to the convenient life in the city.

i grew up living a modern life. when i was on my teen age, one good thing about this is the night life. but then as i reach my early 30's where i got married, i decided to go living into a country life because things are more peaceful and fresh. i would like my kids to have a good health as well as experience beauty of country life but i would also let them experience living in the modern city. its up to them to choose where to leave as the age. as for me, i am now contented getting old in the country side as i reminisce how life was in the modern city.

i yearn for the country life. hopefully, i'll end up on one at least by retirement. i completely understand my father's small hill country town obsession.

As for me ,just the same with you.I must live in modern city when I am young to earn money to surppot my life.
When I am getting old,I just to do some gardennings.
Generally speaking,if I am not asked to earn money,I prefer to stay in the villiage ,it has fresh air, green growings,I think it is a good for our health.

We just recently moved from the city out to an acreage in the country. I do love it out here. It's quiet and peaceful. I don't have to listen to my neighbor's noisy car or lawnmower. I don't hear the freeway in the background of everything that I do. I can walk outside in my PJ's if I want to and no one will see.
I have birds by the dozens in my yard, as well as deer, squirrels, chipmunks, possums, raccoons and all kinds of wild creatures.
We still own the home in the city, but rarely go back there unless we have a meeting in town. The new place is much preferred.

I like both types of life.
I have stayed in the country before.. and I've been camping and also been in the desert. But I have also been to big cities like San Fransico, and also Las Vegas. I think places like palm springs is way more relaxing than other places out there like Las Vegas.
I like to be in a place with lots of space. .and were I can be free. and not have to deal with crowds or stress.

Ya, nice topicof discussion. Even i feel the same. Sometimes its so exciting to face this fast moving world. But t times, i get fed up of work and office. Then i realize that its time for a break...
Often it happens that we get so busy with life in earning money/fame or anything, that we tend to forget to pamper ourselves.
So the best thing that one can do it, make it a point to go on a trip/picnic once in a while with friends/family just to refresh yourself and to have some change :)
I still love the modern life. Only that at times, when work is hectic, i go mad :)

I have the best of both. modern life and country life as we livein a suberb thats just over the tustin city line and in our complex we have modern conveniences while we have the beauty of country living in all the trees, and flowering shrubs and flowers planted here. It is a haven for birds and each year we have the fascinating sight of the wild parrots who come here to winter. they are a gorgeous sight to see and its much quieter here than downtown Tustin yet a ten minute bus ride gets us to all the shops. tustin has a pop. of thirty thousand.

I love the modern life because I think I could not live without the things I am enjoying right now, for starters...Cable T.v., cellphones, laptop, car, internet etc. for now I think I would be bored in a country life if I would stay there more than 24 hours. Maybe when I get old and would not be able to keep up with the fast paced style in the modern world, I would consider living in the country.
