Don't you ever get tired of eating meats?

I am not a vegetarian nor am I a pure meat lover. What prompted me to start this discussion is about a friend I knew who detested eating vegetables. Every time I mentioned greens, he will go all yucky to me.:P
I kept wondering how he managed to keep eating meats without getting tired of it. Coming from a family of carnivorous eaters, it took me quite some time to introduce greens into my day-to-day menu. And the fact that having our daily servings of veggies can make us healthier.
Don't you ever get tired of eating meats? Have you ever thought of implementing some greens in your life? Or are you simply contented to eat meat without veggies? Do share your thought=)

Hi Charms and Welcome Back!!! Long time, no see, my friend.
No, I will never get tired of eating meats, but I will never get tired of vegetables either. They complement each other with all the different tastes. I don't just eat greens though... I eat just about every vegetable imaginable. My favourites are Swede, Parsnips and Brussels Sprouts, but I also eat a lot of Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Broad Beans, Runner Beans and such.
My favourite meats are Pork, Beef and Chicken, but I quite like the flavour of Lamb too. The only problem with Lamb is that it's a bit fatty.
Brightest Blessings.

Yes, I think on the whole, lamb has a better taste, and I especially like it with mint sauce, which cuts the fat a little, the vinegar content being acidic. I do like a tender piece of beef though, which has been slow cooked in the oven, in a little water. Mmmmmmmmm.

Hi Darkwing, nah...I'm just around the corner. Don't know if I will still be here next week, lol. You know me, I tend to hop in and out of mylot.
I love to eat lamb too. If you will let me choose between a beef or lamb steak, I will definitely chose the latter one.

Yes, I am someone who hates vegetables too.
Well, recently, I have already been trying my best to accept them. Like I don't mind eating lettuce in burgers, vegetables (but no tomatoes) in salads, etc.
Personally, I don't quite like meat too so I am not really a meaty person. I take meat moderately and I prefer those that is cooked nice.:P

Meats are okay, in fact, they are very flavorful, but I really like lots of different vegetables as well. You can change up a meal by just changing the vegetables. I keep a selection of frozen vegetable blends in my freezer. I like baby spinach leaves both raw and cooked. I made a salad of spinach leaves, pine nuts, hard boiled egg and grape tomatoes all with blue cheese dressing. Great with a side of soup. I can just see the vitamins and nutrients lifting my body up.

Wow, I admit I can be quite picky with veggies but I surely will never, ever get tired of eating carrots, lol! Frozen vegetables are very rare here in my country. We mostly bought fresh one and you can imagine how many trips to market I need every week.

As far as I am concerned, I always try to choose "the best of both worlds"; I combine steak or poultry with lots of vegetables and salad. Maybe also with soup. Generally, I do avoid pork.
Poultry, especially grilled, with lemon is considered the healthiest kind of meat anyway. I realised that once you get used to a healthier way of eating, incl. whole grain, lots of fruits , salad, fish and light meat, i.e. chicken etc., you have a lot more energie to spare.
Once you get used to it, you will not want to miss it anymore.
So, all in all, in my opinion a combination of veg, salad, fruit & light meat + fish is best. :)

I used to be a vegetarian so now that I'm eating meat again I definitely do get tired of eating it. My mom puts meat in to every meal and sometimes I just want to eat the other things that go with it instead, like the rice, broccoli.. I lovveee my veggies and all that. So when I've been eating meat all week sometimes I really just wanna stuff my face with carrots.

Hi Charms!
I do get tired of eating meats. Sometimes I skip it in meals. But sometimes I also don't want to have veggies, it really varies. Supper is my only regular meal. I try to fix meat, starch, and veggies. But, I don't always eat some of every item that I fix. It goes with mood and cravings.

I have to confess that I eat my meat more than I eat my veggies or fish. But, yes, I do try to eat more of the fruits and vegetables because that would be much healthier too.
As for getting tired of eating meat, well, if there are variations in the cooking, generally, I don't get bored with the food.

me myself don't eat much for meat. not because i am against it ar anything i just don't like it. i like burgers and burger in things but thats about it oh and ham i love ham.
anyway we have a meat, side, and veggie or 2 every night. some night we have a cassarole or pasta. my hubby has to have meat,he loves his meat. veggies is something i have always pushed though with my kids sense they first started eating and now to this day they love them. my oldest loves veggies but is like me with the meat and with my 3 year old it depends on what veggie i make. hes not real big on carrots or peas so them nights he will eat more meat but you give him broccli and thats all he will eat. when we moved back home and we where at my in-laws their grandma asked if they where hungry and my 3 year old wanted broccli. she had to ask me before she made it cuz she couldn't beleive all he wanted to eat was broccli. some weeks he will eat it everyday, that is what he will ask for and how do you tell them no you can't eat broccli.lol my youngest will eat anything and everything.

Hi Aretha. My eldest's all-time favorite veggie is broccoli too. You served it for 2 days and she's contented to have just that. Like you, I also tried to instill to my 2 girls the importance of eating veggies everyday. You're doing great with your kid. :)

Hi there.
I know that getting vegetables (and fruit) in my diet is important but I do love my meaty proteins. :-)
I think that with meat, there is a wide variety of textures, types, shapes and sizes and so someone who prefers eating just meat might not get too bored. There is also lots of ways to prepare the same meat so that can help. But of course eating healthier and balancing meals is a good thing for our bodies. I know someone who can only eat about 2 types of vegetables raw and anything else HAS to be mixed into something else like a stew or something WITH meat. lol.
I personally don't get bored of meat since I never really have the same type (chicken, steak, hamburger etc) in the same week. I usually always try to have at least one vegetable with my dinner so i would get used to it. I even have a pure veggie day sometimes. Yes, there was a time when I couldn't stand some greens like broccoli for example. But like most things, once you get used to it you can get addicted to it!
YUM broccoli :-)

I would get really sick and bloated if I had to meat continuously for days! my systen needs its "detox" periods when I just go on fresh fruits and veggies. those days I make up for the protein intake by eating eggs and pulses.

Hahahaha... I know many guys who detest vegetables and prefer meat. I eat both vegetables and meat (seafood inclusive). All vegetables or all meat are fine with me. However, I do get tired of vegetables if I eat it always at every meals, strictly
vegetables only.
With meat, it's horray to the tastebuds though I am aware having too much meat is "touted" as being unhealthy. How can one be tired of eating meats? When there are many more ways of cooking meat and chefs today are more creative in presenting meats to entice us. Tired of meats? Don't think so. I believe in a balanced diet of greens and browns though occasional meals of eat without veggies is fine with me.

Hi Bighead,
I happened to have meats for about a week. Didn't have time to go to market to buy fresh veggies since I was down with those nasty cold.
It can be pretty tiring to contemplate what to cook everyday. Guess what...I started a new blog which I named "Porky's Special." It will be my personal recipe blog. Very different from my Charm's blog. =)

I love vegetables and want to become a vegetarian but I'm a failure so far and keep returning to meat. I try to have at least one meatless meal a week. I get tired of meat and really don't like it that much but since I am surrounded by meat eaters it seems easier to just join the crowd. One day I will be a vegetarian though...

I eat both meat and veggies but, yes...I do get sick of meat now and then. I find that there are times when I just don't want to eat meat. I eat veggies a lot. I only eat a salad with chic peas (garbonzo beans) for lunch, no meat at all. Then, I most nights of the week, eat some kind of meat for dinner.
So, yes! I do get tired of meat.
