Do You Get Excited about Weekends?

Hong Kong
March 7, 2008 6:42pm CST
I am working now and I definitely look forward to my weekend - when I could totally relax and meet some friends of mine. But when I wasn't working, weekends or not don't seem to matter to me too much! What about you? Gosh! It's finally Saturday here, and I got so excited that I got up at 6am (freaked my mom out) and start my day with mylot. Then I am going to go in the evening to meet some friends. I couldn't think of a day better spent than this! *Laughs* Maybe I am a really easy satisfied person!

actually for me, my weekends are just like my weekdays. I am a stay at home mother of three and my husband is overseas, so i don't get a break at all from my children. Granted, my two boys go and see their biological father every other weekend, but i still have my two year old with me all the time. When i worked i enjoyed the weekends because it meant all my time was with my kids, but now that all my time is with them every day of the week and weekend my days really just seem to run together now. LOL! I do love being a stay at home mom, but i kind of miss working. made me miss my children more and was ready to be home to be a mom. there are occasional days where i would just like to have a weekend to myself, but that never happens so i just deal with it until my hubby comes home, which is in two months. can't wait! thanks for posting and God bless

Oh I understand how it must be for you (even though I am not a mom). I hope you would manage to have some spare time for your own to relax a bit when your hubby comes home!

You deserve to relax and have some fun with friends after a week's work. 9-5 type jobs really used to drive me up the wall and, in fact, whenever possible I tried to get other shifts, even working at nights to avoid having to have the same routine as everyone else. Here it is not quite the weekend yet as we are in a different time zone, but since we are retired we do it more or less backwards, at least I try to do more housework and that sort of thing on Saturday and Sunday to free up time to go everywhere during the weekdays when the younger folks are captive.

Yea when I didn't have a job, I go everywhere on weekdays when everyone is working (I sort of felt the joy of being free). But now, I have to be packed with everyone else who works from 9-5. My weekend has been movies, movies and movies so far, but I will go out and catch up with friends later, so that's something to spice up the weekend! You have a good one too!

calendar - looking forward to weekends
I always look forward to my weekend! Though I need to still work on a Saturday (at least for this semester), I am still happy about how my weekends are. This is the time when I can do a lot of things like take the dogs for a walk, go places with my boyfriend, go to the mall without worrying so much about how much time I have and more!

I am not working anymore so the weekends don't mean a whole lot to me, except that my husband is home and not at work. If anything, he is a pain when he is at home because he is a bore and doesn't want to do anything since he is tired from working all week. I treat the weekend like any other day and just work on the computer here in mylot and reading emails for money. Today we did go for a drive and went to Tim Hortons for a coffee and bun. But usually we don't even do that so it's a trat. I do my housework on Saturday mornings and my grocery shopping in the afternoons, but that's about it. Boring!

when i started working i dont feel any excitement when weekends comes unless i have plans of hanging out with friends at night. now that excites me! haha.. well, i go to work even on weekends.. how i wish hospitals could close on weekends but sad to say they cant and never will until it is decided to close down. haha! even on a holidays we work. some even work on holidays instead of spending it somewhere else with family or friends because when you work on holidays, you get to paid double. what excites me is when my boyfriend and i gets to go out together and enjoys every second of our time...

I am working five days a week and rest on Weekends. So, definitely, I never miss getting excited about weekends. The best thing about weekend is, we can do many things like short trip, wake up late, and settle things we won't be able to do during working days. So I usually go for late night movie, playing games or travel back to my home town. But it's really demoralizing on sunday night, thinking of going back to work on Monday morning. LoL.

I can fully understand how you are feeling. I just passed my mba last year and started working in an investment bank. We have a five day work and so no working on saturday sundays. I just look forward to weekends because the work pressure is so much during the week and on the weekends u just want to rejuvenate. For me weekend also means meeting up friends as during the week its next to impossible to meet them. And i just love reading so one day i keep for relaxing at home and reading any new book. It helps to relax my mind. I also like watching movies. Yeah i know you wil think gosh its so much for two days. But so i just look forward to the weekends and try to do as much as i can. :)

I absolutely do! The weekend makes the whole week complete and prepares me for another week. I look forward not only for the freedom to do anything for the free hours but a time to do something that we always love to do. I used to be an outgoing person and the weekend is an opportunity to get along with friends and visit some nearby amazing spots. Now, that I am starting my own independent life and everything seems to be taken cared of, I love to stay at home. To read books and magazines that will help me with my career, to browse over the internet for their related topics and make some action plans so I could use what I read plus I visit sites I regularly visit to interact with some friends. Mylot is an option if my mood seems different. Interactions changes the mood and makes some dull moments right. Weekend is really a time to relax and re-earn the needed strength that will fill the next upcoming weeks.

I agree whatever you said above. well i am very new to mylot and its my first day and logged in to it just before few minuts. i am not that good in discussions yet but i agree that weekends are always exiceted and all should enjoy a lot in weekends with family and friends. after all we all do a lot of work and we do not get weekends to relax and enjoy then life would be so boring and more hectic.

I am really exacted about the weekends. It is weekends that I can relax from all the tensions of my work and recharge myself. I love to go to beaches during the weekends. I also like to spend time watching television. Sometimes I go for a movie during the weekends. I also take food from outside during weekend. I also get a chance to meet my friends who are working during the weekends.

I look forward to the weekend if I am not working. However, if I happen to work, I dread those days as they are very busy. I will be glad when it warms up so that my kids and I can ride ATV's on the weekends! It will be a lot of fun as we just recently purchases several acres that we can ride on. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your weekend!!

I am a working mother, so I look forward to my weekends. That not only means I can have a day off, but also I will have my family time. I like to go to the park with my son and cook something nice for my family.
