Please everyone be careful and inform your family members and friends about this.
Taken from some girl:
Please take 3 minutes and read this...then pass it on.... When I think
about it...I probably would have believed him and opened the door.....
Know what money you are carrying. You will see why as you read.
Be sure every woman is aware of this M.O. Share it with your wife and
daughters. Know what money you are carrying... This was the first I
have heard of a scheme like this..... I wanted to pass it along. Be
safe! Something very serious to pay attention to.
Criminals are coming up with craftier, less threatening methods of
attack, so we have to be extra cautious.
Read on...
I live in Alexandria , VA , but I often work in Lafayette , LA ,
staying with friends when I'm there. As you know from America's Most
Wanted TV program, as well as the news media, there is a serial killer
in the! Lafayette area. I just want to let you know about an "incident"
that happened to me a few weeks ago, and could have been deadly.
At first I didn't go to the police or anyone with it because I didn't
realize how serious this encounter was. But since I work in a jail and
I told a few people about it, it wasn't long before I was paraded into
Internal Affairs to tell them my story. It was approximately 5:15 a.m.
In Opelousas , La. I had stayed with a friend there and was on my way
to work.
I stopped at the Exxon/Blimpie Pie station to get gas. I got $10 gas
and a Diet Coke. I took into th e store two $5 bills and one $1 bill
(just enough to get my stuff). As I pulled away from the store, a man
approached my truck from the back side of the store (an unlit area).
He was an "approachable-looking" man (clean cut, clean shaven, dressed
well, etc.). He walked up to my window and knocked. Since I'm very
paranoid and "always looking for the rapist or killer," I didn't open
the window.
I just asked what he wanted. He raised a $5 bill to my window and
said, "You dropped this." Since I knew I had gone into the store with
a certain amount of money, I knew I didn't drop it.
When I told him it wasn't mine, he began hitting the window and door,
screaming at me to open my door, and insisting that I had dropped the
money! At that point, I just drove away as fast as I could.
After talking to the Internal Affairs Department and describing the
man I saw, and the way he escalated from calm and polite to angry and
volatile...it was determined that I could have possibly encountered
the serial killer myself.
Up to this point, it had been unclear as to how he had gained access
to his victims, since there has been no evidence of forced entry into
victim's homes, cars, etc. And the fact that he has been attacking in
the daytime, when women are less likely to have their guard up! , means
he is pretty BOLD.
So think about it...what gesture is nicer than returning money to
someone that dropped it?????
How many times would you have opened your window (or door) to get your
money and say thank you.... Because if the person is kind enough to
return something to you, then he can't really be a threat....can
he????
Please be cautious! This might not have been the serial killer... But
anyone that gets that angry over someone not accepting mone y from
them can't have honorable intentions The most important thing to note
is that his reaction was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! A total surprise! But
what might have happened if I had open ed my door? I shudder to think!
Forward this to everyone you know...maybe they can be as fortunate as
I was!
P.S. Ladies, really DO forward this to EVERYONE you know Even if this
man wasn't a serial killer, he looked nice, he seemed polite, he was
apparently doing an act of kindness, but HE WAS NOT A NICE PERSON!!!
Men, send it to all the women in your life. What you do today is
important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. Make
it a good one!

Just wanted you to know I have already recieved an email regarding your horrible experience and I have not only forwared it on, I have asked my partner to tell his work mates so they can pass it on to their wives. Just wanted to finish with complimenting you on your intelligence and bravery. I have been through similar situations and I am forever amazed at how unaware people are and also at the fact when I warn them - they look at me as if I'm being melodramatic but thanks to your email they are now taking me seriously. One further IMPORTANT POINT I would like to add if I may is that these criminal type of people RELY on the element of surprise sure but the other side of the coin IS that people go into shock within 60 to 120 seconds and that is when one is most vunerable and makes it so easy to be attacked, grabbed etc. We are not normally taught or told this as this is a normal human reaction. I was made aware of this by one of my teachers of self-defence. Once he explained this to me, apart from making sense it has not only made me even more aware but in some way better prepared if need be. Hope this will help.

Thanks for the reminder. I had received this story in an email a while ago but had forgotten about it until seeing your post. Isn't it scary to know that the most polite well dressed person could be a serial killer. Makes you wonder who you can trust in this world.

this is something to make us all think. The fact that the man got so angry over her not taking the money should make anyone pause. that is the last responce you would expect from anyone so be warned. Many a good looking man has been a killer. They sure do not go around with some sort of sign proclaiming killer on them. thanks for this warning. I will pass it on to my women friends.

Someone else told me this isn't true, but it shouldn't stop us from realizing that something like this could happen to anyone at any time.

Wow... You are really lucky you did know how much money you had. Imagine if you didn't know... I may not be reading this post right now and you may not be reading this reply...
One question: Did they ever find the serial killer or the person you encountered?

Thanks for the heads up!! I remember telling my daughter at a very young
age that stranger danger was not always a creepy looking person. Many times
he can be realy nice, clean and normal. Unfortunately, he can be someone that
everyone normally trusts as well. That warning was to include teachers, fire-
men, policemen etc. Because bad people come in all shapes and sizes something
we all tend to forget.

We just had a similar scare here in Phoenix, where someone posing as an INS agent was trying to get into women's houses. The news told us that they never come alone, they always show up in pairs, so that probably helped out alot of people.

I have heard of this before. But it is always great when someone else shares it again..
It is a great reminder and great for those to read that have never heard of it before.
Keep up the good work of sharing what needs to be shared with others!

Its definately a good reminder but I have to say that ppl should always be aware of things like this...Serial killers ARE more often "nice, polite, helpful" ppl. Just like child molesters dont wear a telltale face, neither do psychopaths of certain types..

I have been told that this email is a hoax but so what - it is still a wake up call as being attacked by this method is still a possibility and we all need to be aware of our surroundings and the possible dangers in order to protect ourselves! Well done for sharing this sweety and I hope that people take notice! xxxx

Yeah I read this before a while ago! It defeniatly is scary to think of all the new ways these kind of people are getting their victims. I would never open my door or window for a stranger, especially when I was in aa dark secluded area.
Even if the money had been my...it's 5 dollars! I would have just told him to keep it and took off! Very scary situation!

I hasn't heard about this until it was forwarded to me today. Most people would trust the guy because they would have thought he was doing a good deed. It would have been easy to fall for.

I probably would have thought that he was telling the truth...honestly, right now I can't say for 100% I wouldn't have opened the window for him. But I don't think I would have; I might have told him to keep it for being honest or something...but I may or may not have opened the window--I can't say for sure right now.

Things like this happen all over the world. Its not just significant to the United States. After all why do they have police in other countries, if this is the only one with crime.

You are welcome. From what someone told me on this post, the story turns out not to be true, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen and that we all need to be aware of our surroundings.

I may not see that guy in my lifetime since I live somewhere else but thanks for the info. The news said we have our own serial killer here in Antipolo City who victimize women and children but I don't know of any update if he has been nabbed already by the cops. He had killed not less than 3.
