Ok.. this rant is for both new and OLD users who do this. If you start a discussion and people actually take the time out of their day to respond to it... RESPOND BACK. It's really anoying when you see users start discussions and then NEVER RESOND BACK to those who post a comment. Stop being lazy and actually return the respect and answer those who've answered your damn post. If you don't want to respond back to the people who've responded to you then DON'T POST A DAMN DISCUSSION. Thats the point of a DISCUSSION.. for a back and fourth exchange of ideas and thoughts. I'm not saying you have to respond to everyone but at least respond to your damn dicussions. It's one thing not to be logged on after but its a whole different to start discussion after discusion and never reply to the people who've replied to you.
If you're that hard up for money... GET A DAMN JOB.

While I do try to answer my own discussions, sometimes I just can't. Sometimes I read a post and don't have anything to reply, and seeing that my posts are fairly unpopular, chances are I won't get a chance to reply to another comment.
But I do try to answer them all , it's just..sometimes the electricity in my brain is turned off :(

Very well said!!!!!! I feel the same way. I know when I was new and was still learning. I had this bad habit. But now I try to go back to my discussions and answer them. Sometimes it might take me a few days to get back to them. But I have made it a point to always do that now. The only reason that I can think of that people do this is because they just want the money. I mean why start a discussion asking for advice or anything for that matter and not taking the time to go back and reply back to those who have responded to you. It is just stupid!

I know I don't always respond to everyone in my discussion but mostly cause I feel no need to go to each reply and go I agree or I disagree. I do however reply to my discussion especially if someone says something that I feel deems a reply. (kinda like now) There are some discussions of mine that yea there's a page or two where I didn't comment to people but through most of it I've replied to a vast majority lol.

Well I feel privlidged (however you spell that word) that you responded to me. LOL! Just kidding. But I know what you mean. A lot of my discussions from when I was new are like that and some I believe I never responded to anyone. One of these days I plan on going back to those old discussions and replying back to people. I hope you weren't one of them that responded to me and I never responded back. If so, I'm SORRY!!!

i agree with you in some aspect... i also expect people to comment on my response after i respond to their discussions... i also always make an effort to reply to people who respond to my discussion... may be not all... but majority of them... i think it is just a courtesy to do that...

Yea I think its only right that we try and make an effort to reply to people who've taken the time out to reply to us. I just don't understand starting tons of discussions and never answering the people who took the time out to reply to them. To me it seems kind of rude.

Hehe! I believe that we have the same thoughts about this, I've also started a similar post way back. People are too busy posting and posting, starting their own discussions then leave it uncommented. I don't know what's on these people's minds, mylot was not like this before.
It's really frustrating to see our well-thought opinions being ignored by these members, so I decided to not respond again on their post. I don't care if I get less postings a day, at least I know that I didn't wasted my time and effort on posting on their worthless posts!

Thats pretty much why I'm only at like 800 post and I've had this account for about a yr. It's becoming harder and harder to find discussions where the orginal poster actually replies to their discussions. I don't like replying to people who don't reply back to their own topics and nor do I like responding to discussion where the poster hands out best response within the first few hours they started it.

i understand what you feel. i too feel that way specially during the first month when i joined mylot. i felt that sometimes people dont like what i said or something. commenting back inspire you to look forward to log on mylot. i am always excited everyday on opening my email to see how many people has cmmented back on my response to their discussion. i really get pissed of to people who i asked question then just dont care to enlighten me. that is the reason why i asked question because i needed answer. well what can we do some people are really (its up to you to fill in the blanks) i just wish this would be a wake up call.

Well maybe folks will pay attention and start replying to their discussions. If not I think I'm gonna have less and less people on here to talk to LOL.

I understand were your coming from, but I have one question. What if your discussion generates alot of repeated responses (people saying the same thing pretty much), am I suppose to respond to each and everyone? All I would have to say is "thanks for responding"........to be honest I don't have the time to do that to everyone. I do respond back to helpful responses and ones I have something to comment back.

Well like I said before, I don't expect folks to reply to every last person on their discussions but to make an actuall effort to reply to people is all I ask. I don't reply to each and every person myself, normally I reply to those that ask a real question or have something that warrents a reply.

Really I think it's up to each person. If ppl want to start discussions and not reply to each or any response, that's up to them. If they do, that's up to them too. If you don't want to reply to a discussion b/c you don't think that person is going to thank you or chit chat with you, then don't. It doesn't really matter to some ppl and for those that it does matter then I'd suggest sticking to discussions from the ppl you know reply to each and every response.
Personally, I don't care if ppl reply back to me...it's ok if they do and it's ok if they don't. As for discussions, I start them whenever I feel like it...regardless of whether I have time to reply to each or any responses.

Agreed.
I don't start many discussions. Not only because I don't want to ask the same questions that have been asked already a hundred times... I also know I don't have the time to answer all of them to the best of my ability.
When I do start a discussion I do my best to answer the majority of the people who took the time to comment. I do this until I feel I start to get repetitive. I don't want to do that either.

I just wrote a discussion because a friend of mine got criticized for commenting the people who comment to them.
The people who respond back to my 15 minute well thought out comments with a "Thank you for your comment" are just as bad as the people who don't comment back to their comments at all.
I think I comment back about 75% of the people who comment me. The ones I don't have just repeated what someone has already said in a previous comment and since it is against "guidelines" to comment back the same way I just skip over them.
I have about 20 people that I stalk on this site. I comment them, they comment me. It is a nice balance.

LMAO@ the 15 min well thought out comments.. ya know that doesn't bother me as much as the people who respond to my 45 Min well thought out discussion with.. Ok, or I don't understand. I swear those people I wanna just cyber slap.
I think my stalk list has gotten extremely small, especially since those of my friends who use to post great topics have since abandon this place, and they've baned the rest of the users who actually made a difference. So now I'm down to the small group of like 3 people who I actually respond to. Probably why I'm not here as much anymore either.

hi devilsangel I can see your point but I do really try to respond to all who have responded to mydiscussions but sometimes I get a bit behind and sometimes I get discouraged because I think I had a good topic and only a few respond to it. But I do really try to get back each morning and pick up those who have responded lastand make my response to them. they were kind enough to take time out to respond to my discussions so I owe them the courtesy of my replies.

I always try to respond to the discussions i've started. i even try to respond to the responses i get from responding. But there are times i just feel like i can't think of anything meaningful to say to respond back and that's why i sometimes don't respond because I think just saying thank you isn't enough.

lol well done. I understand if you are angry about this. It feels as though you are left hanging doesn't it? I too used to feel the same way until I realised that most people here don't care about whether or not we reply to their comments. I personally only reply to comments that look as though they are really interested in my discussion topic. It shows me that these people will not waste my time if I reply to them.

I am probably one of the people you are pissd off at as I do not check MyLot very often but I try to catch up on my return. So there are weeks on end where I will not sign in.I agree the idea is to exchange thoughts and ideas and that is one of the reasons why I DO return.
By the way,if there are those out there who are doing this just for the money, then I hope they get weeded out as their responses or discussions are probably weak anyway.
Well...I guess that is my rant.
