I am sure you have heard of the saying "If It Sounds Too Good To Be True"
What will happen if you fall into the email, you will give them your info, and they just might deposit money or mail you money, when you try to cash the check, it will seem ok, then after a few days, your bank will notify you that it was a fraud and you will be responsible for every penny. Plus out of the money you will have already mailed the scammer. This is a very common scam. I beg of you, do not buy into the email.

This is definately a spam, scam, rip off, or whatever you want to call it, we have had quite a few of these types of emails over the last couple of weeks, they will ask you for your bank details and personal info and then they will clean you out. These people are so cheeky, it doesnt even make any sense, they just hope people will see the amount and get greedy and fall for it.

Just to let you know I get these almost all the time. It's a spam and scam, as soon as you see it throw it away and don't look back. Some people truly have no lives if they do that but they also hope to find someone gullible enough to buy into it.

I can assure you that this is really a SPAM and I have even other proposterous ones like Microsoft Lottery, Yahoo Lottery and many more.
But one thing you can be sure to find is the reply to email address being different from the sent out address. Also, the phrasing used is nearly like those African accounts, where you get in at point A and come out from Point (God knows where). So will your money if you know what I mean.
Somehow, I just wished that the laws for these mails could get tougher as not only do I find them a nuisance but the potential threat to the young and green netizens.
Anyway, we just need to wait and be wary for now. Hope you will take care of other new netizens too yourself.

my friend and I had gotten similar emails with that one you mentioned above. exactly the name Ron Morris. and the Mrs was also Mrs Grace but the rest was forgotten since I have deleted the emails.
just ignore this email. they are fake. I have one email address which had always been spammed with these kinda hoaxes most of times. I don't know where they collected my email address but when I checked the IPs, seemed like they were from the same sender, different names, but some of them still used same names.
the best thing we can do is to report this kinda email to our email provider and let them take care of it. it is a non-sense to transfer any million dollars to a completely stranger like we are, logically think.
you haven't got any email claimed from Arafat's wife, have you? :P
my friend in a yahoogroups got it, and the whole group just LOL about it. she sent a reply telling the sender (who claimed as Arafat's wife) that she worked for FBI. and later, she never got any kinda this email anymore.

It is definetly spam and I receive at least one of these types of emails every week. Most of them are from some where in Africa, just like the one you received. It seems that Africa has a lot of this thing going on and I have heard about some of them getting caught and being prosecuted. There was a show about it on W5 which is a Canadian news show. They showed someone scamming people out of their money and they taped it secretly and the people got busted and went to jail. I have notified the police when I first got one of these, and followed up on it till they asked for money from me, but there was nothing the police could do about it and they didn't even pursue it. I don't even bother reading them anymore when I get them, I just automatically delete them now.

This, of course, is spam. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD OR BANK INFORMATION!! Think about it, why in the whole world, would they choose you? Do you even own a bank account with them? Why don't they give one of their bank members? If they really did background checks, etc, why didn't they contact you via phone? Why does she want to give it away? Wouldn't they rather keep it in the bank? If they don't want it, why not use it for charity... Africa can use it, there are many destitute people there...
The bottom line, don't give yyour credit card information... You will regret it...

I get a couple of these a day.
You can report them. The FBI has a department that deals with mail fraud as does the RCMP. Pass the info along for investigation.

spam.
when recieving offers, try using these rules:
1. if you dont know the person, be cautious
2. if money is needed in advance, even more so
3. if it seems to good to be true, it probualy is.
4. try thinking about whether you would do such a thing, if not, its probualy fake.
if you use these, and common sense, you should be allright. (most of these mails are fake, only a very small amount are real, none that i know of)

well, its really hard to tell... :P
it might not be a spam or you might get rich as fast as a snap of my fingers, which you won't hear or see btw.. ^_^
well, it's up to you to decide whether it's a scam or not cause there might be 99% of those kinds of things are spams but there's also a 1% chance that it isn't a spam.. ^_^
