I was very thin when I was 18. After my graduation I started my work. I am software employee who works in a mnc since may years. Since the day one of joining MNC, till last year I had put on so much of weight. This is the time my parents were looking for a boy to get me married as soon as possible. The problem starts now. The boys started commenting on my weight. This is the time I realized the severity of obesity and learned from various books and websites and institutions and medications "HOW TO REDUCE WEIGHT?" I tried being on a strict diet or extensively walking or jogging or climbing hills or using gym to the maximum time till my energy level is withstand. I tried various herbal medicines and ayurvedic tablets and treatments. Then I tried yoga and meditation from a naturopathy doctor. I will very often try to be without water and without food, it is called "oru pozhuthu" in tamil, which cleanses the body and the rest is given to our digestive system, so that our body rejuvenates with new cells and will remain very light and healthy. I tried avoiding choclates, cakes, oil fried items, ice cream, burfies, pastas, pizza, etc... Atlast, I achieved by some means and felt very happy being thin and lighter. Now i am able to run very fastly without struggling. The most precious thing is I married a doctor who is very smart and handsome, the diamond in my life. So I request everybody who is reading this discussion to respond me about my experiences and how it inspired you people to start loosing your weight. Thanks for your time to read my lengthy discussion. I hope everyone enjoyed it really and will definitely make use of it and achieve it. All the best.

The key to weight loss is not just doing exercise but also to cut down on things that you eat that are high in calories/fat. As you state your husband is doctor then he should be able to arrange a good fitness regeime for you. Finally do not feel that you have to loose weight to conform to someone's views. You should be happy with your figure and that is all that matters, not other people who are often insecure themselves

you are absolutely correct. Calories is the one which ultimately decide your body structure. Thank you for your comment.

Congrats for everything - for losing weight and also for happily getting settled in life. Your determination to follow the regimen and subsequently achieving weight-loss should inspire people to emulate you. Well, keep it up !

Yes what the above poster said is true but for me, I am an EMOTIONAL EATER and that is the core of my weight problems. I eat when I am happy, sad, depressed, anxious, bored... I have been getting a grip on it, but sometimes I lose focus. When you have been eating emotionally for years its hard to distinguish between mind hunger (emotional) and physical hunger (when you SHOULD eat)... and its even harder to eat the right portions and to stop when full. You practice that and adding exercise into your day, you will definitely lose weight.
