Did you / do you enjoy being pregnant?

March 25, 2008 2:27pm CST
I personally did not enjoy either of my pregnancies, I never 'bloomed' as some women do and i felt terrible most of the time. I have heard so many positive pregnancy stories, unfortunatly i didnt enjoy mine, i didnt hate it either tho, What was your experience of pregnancy, did you enjoy it, did you 'bloom' look forward to seeing your responces. I enjoyed being pregnant. I didn't have to worry about looking fat. I loved the feeling of the baby moving inside of me.

i think how a womans frame of mind is while theyre pregnant greatly is affected by whether or not she was actually trying to become pregnant. after two years of trying to conceive my first, i was literally thrilled when i first had morning sickness LOL and puked with a smile on my face. with my second, she was over a month overdue, and i could give you scads of reasons why i couldve justifiably been miserable.. and i wasnt. even when my husband had to actually put his hands under my belly and lift the baby so i could turn over without my skin tearing from the weight of her. i loved every second of it, and it passes much too quickly. it is the ONLY time in your childs life, where you know exactly where they are at all times, and you can keep them safe. maybe im just a freak.. but i cherished every moment of my pregnancies. they dont last forever, then theyre gone.

I enjoyed being pregnant but that was mainly because i had no problems. I kept active throughout the entire pregnancy, had no morning sickness, my hair and nails were strong and shiny and my skin was clear and i only put on about 21 Ibs in weight. I didn't really get the 'nesting' that other pregnant women are meant to have had and I was waiting for that one to kick in.

I enjoyed being pregnant, but I never had any morning sickness or other problems with my pregnancies. Near the end of my pregnancy with my younger son, however, I got a horrible bladder infection. It hurt really bad and I thought I was in labor for about a week when it was the bladder infection that was causing my pain. I didn't sleep at all for those days and when I finally did go into labor I was really tired. That part of the pregnancy was no fun.

I was pregnant 4 times in 5 years and loved it. I had no morning sickness and for the most part felt great the entire time that I was pregnant with each. I only had cravings the first pregnancy and that was for chip dip and in the middle of the night! For the second I didn't like the smell or taste of kielbasa and sourkraut......which I normally ate. I don't know how many babies I might have had if I hadn't had a tubal 2 days after I had my 4th baby since it didn't seem that I was very responsible with birth control methods!

3 of my pregnancys were wonderful and so yes I did enjoy being pregnant very much. I did have one tho that was just horrible...I was sick the entire time. It was just a miserable experience. On the positive side...I had a beautiful and healthy girl who is now all grown.

I did! My first pregnancy was OK generally but with my second, I experienced a lot of frightening situations because I had rubella when I was only 8 weeks pregnant and I was so scared that my baby would have complications. When I was giving birth, I have severe eclampsia and my baby had fetal distress so I have to be operated on to save me and the baby. I have both girls and I bloomed, they said but I find myself stressed out with my second pregnancy but nevertheless, the joy of having them will never be taken away with any pain, stress, anxiety or trauma.

My first pregnancy i enjoyed as it was all new and a very exciting time and was lucky to have no morning sickness and had a easy time. My 2nd and 3rd went smoothly but didnt enjoy them as much. With my fourth i had a terrible time was very big and near the end i could not walk anywhere as i got worn out very quickly. Also as soon as i sat down i would be asleep within 5 minuets. My fifth wasn't bad but also had the stress of moving and had a minor car crash which ended up with me being in hospital overnight. By the end of it i was totally fed up as my baby was a week late when the others had always been on time.

I don't know if I 'bloomed' or not, but I did enjoy being pregnant, although I did get as big as a house! My sons were born 23 and 26 years ago, and I loved every minute of carrying them. I was blessed with uneventful pregnancies - I was never sick at all.

I am not suppose to answer this because i am a guy so its just means that i am the person to answer this question but what i can see with people who are pregnant, i think they are quiet bored for a while and the happiness will only unveil after the child is born. Just an idea..:)

by about 38 weeks of both pregnancies, i was really starting to become overwhelmed and just wanted it all over and done with. To be honest, I was really happy once i had given birth to my bubs as they use to push on nerves and really hurt me. Also, with the most recent baby....i had very bad acne and i have never really had pimples before and i really despised the way i looked!

With my daughter it was enjoyable! I had some nausea and big time fatigue, bad on some days but once that part was over, I had that glow! But had post partum depression after she was born. With my son, it wasn't enjoyable. I had no sickness at all, in fact... to make a long story short I didn't find out I was pregnant with him until I was 3 months along! Why? Well... I have been known to have irregular cycles AND I have been known to skip months if really stressed and at that time my brother was marrying my sister in law who I absolutely couldn't stand at the time... and over reacted to it all, the over reaction would explain me being pregnant, hormones were out of control. And just during that pregnancy, I was not in a good state of mind and was extremely uncomfortable and had no energy.

Luckily, I was one of those who "bloomed" during pregnancy. It was such a breeze, that even when I was already going through labor, I did not feel pain at all. The pain just came after my bag of water broke. With a push or two, the baby came out in a flash. They say carrying a boy almost assures the mother of an uncomfortable pregnancy. I saw my sister go through with her pregnancy which is very opposite to mine. I had a baby girl and her first born was a baby boy. True enough, all throughout the 9 months, she's throwing up, always in a bad mood and always feeling lethargic. When she got pregnant the second time around, she had a girl and she didn't have a hard time at all.

I LOVED being pregnant with my first two...!! I thought I could do it over and over again no problem. My husband is my second husband and was not with me for the first two...I would tell him not to worry about the "horror" stories he'd heard about pg wives because I loved being pregnant. Then I got pregnant with twins. I WAS MISERABLE...for the entire 8 months I WAS MISERABLE. My husband finally looked at me one day after about 4-5 months and said "I thought you said you liked being pregnant?!?" lol- I snapped back "I DID!!" That pregnancy, though, I was quite a bit older and carrying multiples...who knew?!? By the end of it I couldn't care less if I EVER went through it again! lol.
