it depends on what ur usage is like? if its only word processing and browsing, and you tend to move around a lot, go in for a laptop. if u plan to do serious gaming, photo/video editing, go for a desktop, whr u can customise the graphics card and the rest at a later stage when the need arises. The problem with a laptop is that because of its small size, it is not expandable/upgradeable.

Well personally, I'm holding off on getting Vista, because there are a lot of people that are having trouble with that system yet! XP is doing for me, everything I need done, anyway! Maybe in the future! As far as a laptop or desktop, I myself need to change to a laptop, because I travel around a lot, and I have to wait 'till I get home to do anything on the comuter, that's why I need a laptop!

Well, if that's the only usage that your going for, any computer would do as long as it has a very spacious hard drive. Would 320 Gb be enough for those images, video, game play? Net surfing is something that all computers are well equiped now-a-days. It really depends on your preference. Are you into gaming? You should have good video cards that can handle some of the requirements that certain games need. Are you for entertainment? The sound card should also be a consideration. Technically used computers tend to be more demanding when it comes to specs. Higher RAM, spacious hard disk, though who wouldn't like to have such things for their computers? Also, if your going to spend, why not go for the best thing that is offered? Might as well get your money's worth

Depends on what you want. In your case, a desktop maybe better since they can be upgraded much easier than a laptop. Laptops however are portable and you can take them around the house or with you on the go. That's a pretty sweet deal, though many laptops have unremarkable battery life. Look to newegg.com or tigerdirect.com for starters. They have wide selections for customers to choose from. There are also buying guides in case you need something like that.

computer - desktop computer
you can do all that both on desktop computer or on a laptop computer...if your a very mobile person who is always on the go i recommend buying a laptop so you can bring it and use it anywhere you want...but if you are kind of a couch potato guy then i recommend buying a desktop computer where you can use always at home or the office...

laptop - the best computer would be laptop
i have my own desktop now and i am planning also to buy laptop because it would be the best. you can carry anywhere you go. many ways to acquire a new laptop dude if you think that it is convenient for you to acquire it by credit, why not? evaluate the advantage and the dis advatage.

well both are good really but I'm sure you can get more from a desktop as you can upgrade it and everything. I say no vista but sadly it's put into any new computer these days. but for a gaming pc it would definately be a desktop. Laptops are just easier to bring around the house. lol

I think notebook would be fine for you and all. In today's world nothing like laptops. The ideal configuration for personal use would be: Hard disk drive: 160 GB RAM: 1 GB OS: Vista Screen: 15.4inch with WI FI and blue tooth, USB 2 port. Thanks.
