what is going on here in myLot?

I really don't understand what those stars are about any way. I never pay any attention to them ether. They don't have any thing to do with your earnings.

Don't get frustrated! It happens. Someone may have gotten fussy about you which, while not fair, it does happen! Just keep plugging on and with each positive response and great discussion, we'll all help you get back up there again!

Your number is going down because people are giving you “-“ ratings. This could be from just about anything. I would suggest being more active and making sure to respond to all those who respond to your posts.

I don't worry about those ratings..I spent most of my time as a 9, started one somewhat questionable topic and I got dropped to an 8, then a few months later I got a 9, then I got a 10, then a few questionable discussions and I became a 9 again. I don't let that bother me, you can't please everyone all of the time unless you refuse to take a stand on anything...and if you are scared to be controversial...well that is just not to good. Stand up..take a chance...be proud of who you are.

I could only guess that our star depends on the amount of activity we pour in our mylots. I just got 7 for my star. But this is the first time I got a star ever since I joined in five days ago. Just keep it coming. I think this is an enjoyable experience whether or not they rate us for something we have done or undone in the past days. Keep them posted.

it may be some has rated you -. it can also be they are not rating you at all. star depends on the reputation. the reputation depends how you are rated by others here.

you atleast had 10 as mylot rating but i never had that no as my rating ........My rating was once 8 now it has become 9 but dont know how log it will be.....

oh, I even have not noticed that there is a star rating thing. What is the star for?

sometimes the e-mail does not get to me for responses to a post..i don't know why this system fails but i have heard this complaint from other people..i was a nine and went to an eight..but i think sometimes people get discouraged and give you a minus even though its not your fault.. i always responded to an e-mail but if we don't get the e-mail? well that is my thougts..good luck

My star flucutates from a 9 to a 10 depending on how much I have posted the day before. If I post quite a bit my star will be a 10 if I post just a few things in a day my star will drop to a 9 I don't let my star bother me to much.

not only earnings will fluctuate every now and then but also ratings. based on my experience when i posted a total number similar to you i got numbers seven on the star but you got eight meaning your luckier than me. i am not particular with the rating, i am more conscious of the idea that i am going to share in any discussions posted. you observe here that some of the members posted almost 6000 post but still there number and star are the same with the one posting a totaL of 1000 meaning it is not the number of post is the basis. did you experience that your earnings also fluctuate? i experience sometimes but i am upset on this, the system commit also error same as human. don't lost your interest instead go on, post many comments and discussions, see the wonder of mylot if you reached your goal.

I am fairly confident (and this is just from things I have read and deduced myself...not any real knowledge I have...lol) that not being rated affects it as well so if people aren't rating at all, or if you aren't as active to even be rated, it will go down. Also- it seems that if you are at 97.6, you will round up to a blue ten...but if you drop even one little tenth of a percent you go down to a nine. Like I said, only my own idea there. At any rate- you know not to "really" worry about the star...but I understand how you feel...and the blue is such a pretty color!

Yes, it happens sometimes because people just hit the minus rating on people for no give reason. I know some people who will go down discussions marking - on every post which is not good... My only suggestion would be to continue to make good discussions, but I don't know if it will help or not ----------------------------------------------------

Never got bothered by the star rating. There's no mention that a higher star rating aka reputation will help one earn more anyway. But maybe that was the intention of mylot admins to implement this in future, who knows? In any case, I think we should not be too bothered by it until then.

I am learning quite a bit from these discussions. I had no idea what the star ratings were and the + - were for....lol.... well, now I know. I have only been a MyLot member for a few days now and just getting the hang of all this. Don't give up hope though. Good luck to everyone! :-)
