ALRIGHT!!! i just received an e-mail telling me i won 2 million dollars in the Nigerian lottery! so let's see....this week....there's the old lady who found out she has cancer who's sending me $300,000....then there's the guy who needs me to help pay his U.S. clients...that's like $50,000...and we can't forget the fellow who's family died in a plane crash...i don't know why, but he's sending me $125,000...then there's probably another 3 or 4 lotteries i've won...so let's see...that's...ummm...A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY!!! don't worry my fellow Mylotians, i'm going to share my new found wealth with all of you!!! .....but seriously...how do you deal with these SCAMMERS? do you just delete the message? or click "spam"? or do you do like i do and send them some smart aleck reply?

Yes isn't it strange how many people have millions in the bank and then go and die tragically, so their son/wife/cousin/nephew has to ask for your bank details!
Seriously you should not send even a smart reply to these emails as this shows that yours is an active email account and your email address can then be passed on to more scammers. If you don't reply they never know if that email has been seen or if it is an unused email account.

I prefer to put most of these on ignore and then delete them, as I know I have seen many different ideas on these Scams all of the time. I still cannot believe there are a lot of people who fall for these all of the time. I know someone personally who gave most of his information to someone via Yahoo like Home Address, Phone number, real name, etc... and then when he got a check that was a SCAM he wonders how it happened.
But overall, I am sure that most of us could make thick books if we printed all of these out we get. Believe it or not, I have gotten one before in my myLot message folder, and wish there would have been a way to REPORT it before you delete it.

i usually delete these messages. i get around 5-10 of these emails in my hotmail. but there was one reply i sent out i said - i recently claimed 10million pounds from a UK lottery i won, i haven't figured out what to do with the money yet, and that i will email them once i have spent all my 10million pounds.

i reply just cuz i figure it gets their hopes up that they snagged another sucker...then they read my reply which usually contains words i can't print here. sometimes i just spam them but i end up getting more of the same the next day. so i figure i might as well have some fun with them.

thanks for all the responses, it pretty much looks like my fellow mylotians can spot a scam when they see one. i'm so happy nobody said "I really did win the lottery...I just sent them my bank account info so they can deposit my WINNINGS!" keep up the good work everyone and don't forget....SPAM THE SCAM!!!

I delete them. I did ask oneone time to send it to my address. They emailed me back saying no we need your bank account. I wrote them back and said yeah right so you can take all of my money. They didn't email me back. So I knew what they were up to.

Haha I'll bet the way to receive all that money is first you need to deposit several thousand dollars into their bank account! I hope these scammers burn in hell.

Ha ha I was just thinking that I could do with a new top to go out in this Friday so if you are going to be sharing ALL your lovely money that these very kind strangers are going to send you, then cheers When we get these emails, we usually just delete them, I have never tried to send a reply back, I am always scared too because you never know what could happen. I just always wonder if anyone has actually fell for them.

First of all, there's no way you could have won the Nigerian lottery - cause I did - LOL!!! My personal favorite has to be the company that sends me info on how to make my female parts grow 1 to 2 cup sizes without surgery, then turns around in 5 min later sends me an e-mail on how to make my male parts grow 1 to 2 inches.
Alrighty then - guess they have quite a few hermaphrodites on their mailing lists?????

One time I would apply to these scammers. But when I found out from my husband that they are lying I just delete them. I got a message similar to yours today. I reported it as scam. How can someone send you money if they don't know your name. If you ask me I think these are hackers trying to plant viruses into your computer. I get so many things in my email account about me winning money. I tell you sometimes I am tempted because that money does look pretty nice! But when I think about it, they always want you to pay a courier fee of some sort. The way that I see it, if I REALLY and TRULY won something they should pay all shipping costs. They are just going to take your money and run with it. Don't do it. They are fake!!
