Do you like people being in your bed?

I don't mean physically in your bed with you. I mean do you mind when you are out or somewhere else in the house and someone lies in your bed either to sleep or to watch TV.
It all depends who it is to me, I hate it when my Dad gets in my bed, because when I return to my bed it smells funny and I can always tell that he has been in, because one it smells funny and two he has left plates and glasses in my room, yet comes and complains later on that I don't tidy my room.
I don't mind if my Mam or Sister has been in my bed, because they don't leave unpleasant smells.

I wouldnt like any one other than family having a nap in my bed...but then again i would far rather they used the spare room...its jut the fact that my bed is my bed...the sheets are my soft sheets..lol..the pillows are moulded to me...my matress knows all of my lumps and bumps....and if someone else naps in my bed..it gets rearranged!!!
As you say..your bed has your smell...and as humans we are territorial!!
So..on thw whole ..im only willing to let someone else sleep i n my bed....unless there is no alternative!!!....isnt that selfish..

I wish that we had a spare room, we live in a three bedroom house and there are four of us, so a spare room is never going to be an option. It also means that I am not allowed people of the other gender to sleep over ... sucks!

no one sleeps in my bed. I do not like it. I feel it is an invasion on privacy. plus I do not like anybody to get in my room anytime they want. I just do not like.
maybe it is right but the person I am.

I don't like people going in my room without asking either, mainly my dad and sister, because they make a mess. I don't really have anything private on display, so on privacy issues it is only if they go raking through my stuff that it bothers me.

i have no choice though i don't like anyone else sleep in my bed , but as there is not enough rom in my house , when some guests come to visite and i am not at home , they may sleep in my bed , now the only thing i hope is that when i get married , i should buy a large house with many bedrooms , then i will have my own bed.

When I move out and live with a significant other I want a joint bed and a spare bed, because there are just days when you want your own space in bed, but others when you want a cuddle and the comfort of knowing someone else is there.

i don't like to share my personal belongings with any one. if situation such arrives i try to avoid it to my best. generally this rarely happens with me.
its not the question because he/she leaves unpleasant smell that's why i don't like it, its common courtesy to keep ourselves away from using someones bed, room, belongings.

It's not really common for people to keep themselves away from other people's rooms, the way that out family have been broke up is that the person who's room it is gets priority but other than that it is the functionality of the room.
People come in my room or my Mam's room to watch TV if the downstairs TV is in use.
My sister and her friends come in my room to play because it is the biggest room.
Everyone goes in my Mam's room if they want a shower, because that is where the shower is.
My Dad and Sister do not have specific rooms, because one of them sleeps in the other bedroom while the other sleeps in my Mam's room.
So bedrooms in our house are interchangeable and it is only me that really has my own room that only I sleep in on a night and that is why people using my bed bothers me yet people using my room does not.

I wouldn't like any of my housemates using my bed, but they're not related to me, so it'd be a bit strange if they did get in my bed. My boyfriend was under a blanket (I get REALLY cold so have a duvet and a blanket on my bed) on my bed the other day and I came back into my room and my housemate was trying to get into bed with him! ahah.
But yeah, I don't like people sleeping in my bed without asking me first. I mean, fine, if I'm not there and they have a friend staying, they can sleep on my bed in a sleeping bag, or wash the covers or something but yeah, generally it's a no no. lol.

Yeah people that are unrelated to you or not romantically attached to you, getting into your bed is a little odd lol. Maybe your boyfriend has a thing for your housemate Kat :P

Lol that's what your boyfriend says :p Either your housemate is comfortable with his sexuality or trying to get out the closet lol.

Lol, it's more like my housemate has a thing for my boyfriend! haha.
My housemate, for some reason, likes pretending he's gay. Which is strange. He's rate weird.

You are right on the smelly one. I was have a girl friend that like to visit me a lot to suck my energy .. (anyway) She left the bed messy and smelly. And she did it every night. Sometime she visit me without taken a bath! until one time i (its been to long i want to say this) i straightly said to her
"Don't come looking for me and messing my room every day, and get bath before you see me, my God you are so smelly! if you want your self to be respected, respect other people time n room, and your body that God given you for free!!" That's it. I really yell at her and i'm not sorry for that.
Anyway it's just a story of mine.
LOL. I am ok now.

Eww that is rather minging. Most people don't need to bath everyday, obviously she did which is kind of odd unless you have some form of gross job like bin man. I feel sorry for you.

I'd agree with You..Your room is your own private place-why isn't he spending his "Me" time in his own bed, watching his TV,and slobbing up his own room?

Mainly because he doesn't have a room. There are three rooms, my Mam's, Sister's and Mine, and only my Mam's and mine have a TV, so if she is watching hers, my sister is playing the Wii downstairs, the only TV to watch is mine.

Personally, that is the place where you lay your head and I have read somewhere where one woman had a inner sanctum that was so beautiful that she didn't allow the men in her life in that part of her house but she said that that place was where she went to unwind and what not and I tend to feel the same way to this very day. At present, my daughter shares my bed, but I plan to eventually buy another bed of my own and work on that private inner sanctum of mine.

Hello there sweetie. I make it a point not to stick around in other people's bed because I think that's how my mom taught me to be ever since I was a small boy. I just have this idea that it's disrespectful to be lying down or sitting even in someone else's bed because it is a form of privacy there and I wouldn't like it one bit if someone is to hang around in my bed as well.
Good discussion here.

The only person's bed I can sleep in is my boyfriend's or one of the beds in his house, because they are always washed.

They have two spare rooms, so I have the choice of either and after someone sleeps they get cleaned. Or there is his head and since he has bad skin, he needs clean sheets otherwise they aggravate him ... so that is basically why they are so clean.

Thanks for replying. Do you ever find yourself reluctantly agreeing to let people in your bed, because they have let you in there's before or something?

I couldn't have animals sleeping on my bed, all the hair and stuff seems rather disgusting to me, especially since I am allergic lol. I don't stay in people's houses if they have dogs.

Yes I mind.
No exceptions!
When I have friends over who sleep or sit on it, I will usually change the bedsheets after they left.

I had this flat mate few years ago who adored sleeing in my bed. She was one of those people who stay up until 5 or 6 in the morning and gets up at 2 or 3 in the afternoon and is sleepy all day long. We didn't share the room but she liked talking to me very much, and she would come to my room any lie in my bed. I hated that, specially because she'd usually fall a sleep and when one sleeps he heats the bed and it starts smelling differently. also, this girl liked to walk bare feet around the house and then she's lie in my bed. I hated that, I told her that several times but then she started saying: I won't fall a sleep and I won't put my feet up, but after a while she'd do it anyway. I started avoiding talking to her in my bedroom.

I would hate it if people would not sleep until 5/6 regularly, I think it would disrupt my sleeping pattern too much.

Sitting on my bed is okay. But if they start to take my pillow and squeeze it oh even lie on it, I would definitely say something. My pillow is mine it is a personal thing. Besides I don;t want my smell or vice versa to get on people.
Sit on my bed okay but ot lie and laz around - please go away!!!

No I dont lol!! I dont mind certain people sitting on it but on the whole id be pretty annoyed if I came home and found someone had been liunging on my bed or sleeping on it!!
Id find it very WEIRD if my dad just got in my bed while i was out - or my mum or sister for that matter.

It is usually on a Saturday morning, I tend to be downstairs on my laptop as the signal is better down there and therefore I take up the downstairs TV, so my Dad watches the one in my room as my Mam is still in bed until about mid-day on a weekend.
