My Memory is very bad. I forget everything. I always say I would forget my head if it were not attatched..The older I get the worse my memory gets.It is scary at times. especially since i live by myself.i even forgot my own birthday this year.I thought it was on a Tuesday, but it was on a Monday, I got home, I had a lot of messages on my bphone My family wishing me a Happy Birthday. I will miss dr. appointments, loose my keys all the time, I am always misplacing everything.I can watch something on t.v. and forget what I saw right away. Do you forget thinggs too?

Yes, I'd have to say my memory is pretty bad. I can remember some things more than I can others. Sometimes others have to remind me about something I had forgotten about. For example, I was getting ready to go to the store. I had asked my husband where the car keys were and he said "Uh, they are in you hand." I had forgotten I had grabbed them! Talk about a blond moment! LOL

Tell me about it! If it hadn't been for him I probably would have never found them! LOL

I remember things quickly and forget them quickly, and it's scary because I'm still young. Bad short term memory, nothing I can do. So I got a noteboook to note down all the important things - people's birthday, big appointments, and all sorts of lists. Memory is a tricky thing, and a simply note could help immensely.

Try put those notes in a fixed place, use something like Post-It to paste them on the refrigerator for example. Or always carry them around unless things were done. It helps me all the time.

I sometimes think that my memory is getting bad, but I do not think it is as bad as yours!! The only thing that I really forget at the minute is items on my shopping list which is really annoying especially when they are wrote down in front of my eyes and then I get home to find that I have forgotten half the stuff!

I used to have a wonderful memory. I rarely had to "study" just reading and completing assignments was enough to make information stick. I never had to say, "Pete, remind me....". But almost 9 years ago I was in a pretty bad accident, causing some pretty bad damage. The docs warned me that my memory wouldn't ever e the same...
They were right. I still remember most of my childhood, and the "important" things from my past. However, please don't ask me what I did with my keys or what happened 20 minutes ago. SOmetimes I remember, sometimes I don't. I can't tell you the countless hours I've spent searching for something I was sure I put in a place I would remember.
I have learned some tricks to help me boost my memory, and I play games with myself to trick my brain for a bit. But I'm certain I will never be the same.

We alwayts call him Trey he is 5 years old.My daughter was bying him a cup with his name on it there was none with trey on it. I could not even remember his real name!!

I suffer from siezure's and lots through the year, I used to be so proud of my memory when I was young, I'm going to be 41 in June and the past few years have been really bad seeing people at my job customer's coming through every day, I would think where do I know them from? I would have to keep thinking about it until hours later think ' oh yeah they are regular customer's.
One time I was talking to a customer and telling them the cappuccino I drink every morning for the past 7 years and my mind went blank, I couldn't remember and the man said thats not good and I felt bad and then 1 1/2 hour later I remembered I drink English Toffee every morning. That worries me. Now I working drive thru restaurant and always have to repeat order's at first I was worried knowing my memory goes off and on. but after two month's of the repeating each order, for 8 hrs a day. I am finding my memory start to get stronger and now I am having more confidence in my memory. Sometimes I have a memory down fall but over all it is improving every day and I am so happy. I don't want to lose my memory and I forget who I am! Keep practicing every day, don't ever give up.

LOL I hear ya. I am the same way.
I was always a bit like that and I think the reason is that my thoughts are always scattered over too many things at the same time.
It's not the first time that I forget my own birthday. I usually remember all about it until the day before but on the actual day I wake up and don't have a clue LOL
The same thing with appointment, even if I write it down, how much do you want to bet that the day of the appointment is the one that I forget to check?
Keys... I"m now wearing them around my neck most of the times just in case LOL Last time I found them inside the fridge with the grapes :)
I tend to remember work stuff quite well and I don't miss due dates for work but I certainly miss them in my personal life.
I find that when I"m worried about something I tend to forget more, and lately life has been a big worrying thing LOL

I know how you feel, if you want something put up so you won't lose it, give it to me, it is safe cause once I put it up, it gone, I have no idea where I put it. People ask me about something last year heck I'm still trying to remember yesterday. I think it is the stress in our lives, we spend so much time worrying about the problems we have in life that we forget other things. I hate it when I need something I have put away and you tear the whole house up looking for it and no where to be found. Then several weeks later when you have either went out and bought a new one or found some other way to make it work, one day you open the drawer and there it is. And you know it wasn't there the other day when you looked. I play cards on Yahoo and you have another person playing across from you, they have a name, sometimes you get booted out or off line and when I go to get back in for the life of me I can't remember what the name was I was playing, just with in that couple of minutes it takes to get back in. We need to take some time for ourselves and relax, unwind.

I feel for you sunkissed as I understand exactly how you feel. I may be just 20 years old but my memory is so poor, specially if it has something to do with dates. I can forget what day it is, my family's birthday, what year it is . There are times when I have a conversation with my friends and they would say that I have already told them about it when I can't remember telling them before. Oh yea! and names too... it's so embarrassing when someone remembers your name and you can't recall theirs, usually when that happens I'll call them bro

I have a reasonable memory. I can remember what I have done and eaten and stuff like that. I can even remember what has happened when I am drunk. I have trouble remembering where I have put things though, so I always say I would forget my head if it wasn't screwed on. I tend to note down dates and stuff, because it is easy for me to get them confused.

I don't always remember things either, we all forget things at one time or other. There are times am looking all over for my glasses, the next thing I know is that am wearing them I forget many things also.
There times when I shut my door I would check it 2 or three times to make sure it is locked. I do it with the electric iron and the gas stove also. Just like to double check things to be on the safe side, I can never be too certain.
I can only imagine how scary that is for you since you live alone. Some people are worst than others.
It would be nice to have someone around you to keep your mind stimulated. There is a herbal medication for menory loss called Gingobolobo ( For short ( GINCO)

I'm one of those unfortunate people you're asking of. I do have a bad memory. Sometimes I think I have the worst memory. In split seconds, I forget things. When sometimes I'm going somewher in the house like in the kitchen and something distracts me then I would ask myself "why am I in the kitchen again?" hehehe.. I easily forget when I'm distracted. My friends knows that I am not to hold a very important document or thing because I'm an oblivious person. Super. And it's actually one of my weaknessess. Sometimes I would ask a question twice realizing I forget I already asked about it.

Me too in the morning I will tell someone this thing that happen and in the evening try to tell it to them again and there like you already told me that. My girls try to be slick sometimes and tell me I said yes to some thing they asked for like a coke or snack and later say I asked you and you said yes, Sometimes they get away with it. lol

If I don't pay attention to what I'm doing at the moment, I won't remember later on. If the phone rings and I'm using the scissors to clip coupons, for example, I'll put down the scissors without paying attention to what I've done and later wonder what I've done with them. Believe it or not, I still can't find three books I've purchased from the bookstore about four weeks ago. I know that they are around somewhere, but I didn't pay attention.
I also think that I've taken after my poor dad, who could never remember where he put things, poor soul.

Happy Birthday! I have a fairly good memory when it comes to things that interest me but if I head to the store to pick up milk and bread I come home with about $100.00 worth of junk and no milk. I don't drink it so I struggle to remember it. As the years add up I find my short term memory isn't as good as it used to be but my recall of times past is improving. I guess it would be okay if I lived in the past.
