Do you worry about your "scores"/ratings on MyLot?

I just recently got to "10" on my main rating and I feel honored. I do have a couple questions now because of it. Is it wrong to be a little afraid of posting now, because my rating can only go down? Does anybody feel that way? I have seen some pretty heated discussions on here about people believing they have been intentionally attacked to get their rating down. I know we all value how we are perceived and don't like our integrity challenged, but is it really a big deal to stay highly ranked? I'm a little torn now that I have a "10", but I would not have thought it was a big deal. How do you all feel?

as is obvious by my teeny tiny little 6.. i really dont give a rats a55. i had a 9 nearly a 10.. i dont anymore. and its been lower than this. i really dont care how im perceived, as those that matter already know the kind of person i am, and a bunch of strangers on a message boards really doesnt affect me. i post when ive got something to say, share, assist, etc, and i make a few pennies for my efforts and meet a few decent people in the process. thats all im here for.

Hey, just like that, I'm back down to "9"! I'd say this stuff doesn't make any sense, but I would even drop me a notch for saying I had a "10"! It really shouldn't make any difference what we are rated as long as we are having "decent" conversations, though. I got momentarily caught up in thaty nasty PRIDE thing for a second, but I'm better now. Thanks!

My advice is forget about your star rating. It makes no difference to your earnings so it really doesn't matter. Don't be nervous about posting what you want to post, I've been a blue star more or less all the time apart from briefly being a 9 a while back. I don't avoid controversial discussions, I'm never worried about expressing my opinion. Sometimes I drop a few points but I don't care. Once you have a blue star the only way to go is down anyway so why worry about it? If it happens, it happens.

I feel sometimes that there needs to be more to this site than rating, and what color your star is. I know I am not one who really likes to debate to where I upset someone here, but I have a time or two I am sure. And then I have seen a lot of people on here go too far as well. All I can tell you, is just continue to post things of interest for others, and offer the help and suggestions you know could benefit someone. If someone decides to rate you different, it is up to them. Unfortunately most of these people will do so never thinking any repercussion could come back to them as well.

Hello there. I started out in mylot with a 7, and I was wondering why I've gotten a 7 because I've been posting sincerely. But after a week or so, my ratings suddenly went up to a 10. And I was very happy because it was the first kind of experience to be getting a 10 and the feeling was wow. Then, I got involved in a discussion supporting friends on the star dropped ratings and then, I got a 9 just like that. So, if you ask me, the star rating is just like the down and up of nothingness. It is something as fickle minded as ever and will keep changing no matter if you post good or not. If it reaches a 10, then it's good for anyone at all and if it drops, it doesn't mean that one's discussion is not good. I suppose it just depends on the situation at hand.

You must not be afraid of posting now. Your posts must have been well rated for you to achieve a 10. I don't really know why some people have dropped in the ratings. If you stay out of the heated discussions I don't think you have anything to worry about and if you number drops it can also rise again. If my number goes down I will just carry on as before. I hope you won't be put off posting. You have achieved top rank and that should give you confidence that you are doing a good job at myLot.

I had a 10 yesterday, now it's a 9. But it doesn't bother me at all. As long as I can still participate in Mylot as usual and get earnings, everything is fine with me.

I used to worry about my star rating previously and also my earnings here. This is really not a good feeling at all and it really tense me up. I started up at MyLot with intention to earn some extra pocket money and when I post a lot but when it does not reflect in my earnings, I felt down and upset. This really bother me and it then came to a situation where my mind stucked and blanked until I cant think of words to respond to discussion. Then, I realized that why must my life be affected by something so trivial? There’s lots of other more important thing in life one can do. I then stop participating in responding to discussion but just browse and read topics posted by other members and this continue for few months. And my star rating does not fluctuate much. I only resume participation by replying to discussion less than a month ago and the feeling is really great, like starting something new . So, just don’t bother about the rating , relax and enjoy yourself here at MyLot . Read, post and respond to discussion within your ability, you’ll find that you’ve so many ideas in mind to put in words here and that your earning also inevitably adds up.

Trolls. I knew it.

The way the star colours have changed on here lately it doesn't seem worth worrying about it anymore. Ratings go up and down like a yoyo, so there is no point in getting upset over it anymore.

You are indeed Unfortunate! Your rating has only one way to go! Now you must be very careful! Do Not respond to any Posting that may be controversial. Never express you inner feelings if they may be controversial! There are very few 10 ratings compared with thousands of 6 to 9's. I feel so sorry for those who are stuck with a 10. They are unable to relax when they write on myLot. They must be continually worrying about the state of their 10 rating! Thank God for my Low rating! About your question- The best myLotters are the low-rated ones, because without controversy myLot would die! (sad isn't it?)

not really... i had been having a 10 for quite sometimes now and i don't really paying much attention to it... if somebody wants to attack me and take away my ratings, then they are more than welcome to do it... it doesn't have anything to do with my earnings anyway... so i just cool...

nah,im one of the few people around here who doesnt care if my star rating goes down, i started from a 9, slid to as low as 7, then im back again at 8. the mylot reputation is really no big deal for me. i dunno why people get so upset if they lose a point or slid down a level, its not like the end of the world or something.

It really doesn't matter to me about the rating. I just enjoy posting and responding to discussions.

The thing that gets me about the star rating is that its completely inaccurate. Compare various 9 and 10 star people to MY efforts (best responses, discussions, responses). http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1482617.aspx?p=2 15th response. And that's just one example out of many responses and urges to this star situation.

don't be afraid if your star rating goes down because it doesn't have any effect on our posts and earnings at all

Don't worry much about your rating.Ask yourself first whether you join here for pleasure or money or both? As for me I don't mind about money though it's really very nice.Sometimes you don't have much time to discuss or rate others. I don't think I have good rate but I enjoy here though I don't spend much time posting or sharing but I feel happy when I have time reading their discussion. Is this the answer ? I hope you will have a great deal soon.
