What is your favorite subject in photography?

Photography is one of the best forms of art. My favorite subject when it comes to taking pictures is the beach. There is a famous beach here in the Philippines called Boracay. It has clear blue waters and white sand. The contrast of the color of the water and the sand is a nice subject for photography. Not to mention the vast blue sky and the spectacle of the bright sun. It adds wonderful details to the picture to be taken. The lighting is also commendable. You need not edit the pictures that you will be taking on the beach. Try it for yourself.

I really enjoy taking photos of flowers. There is so many ways you can shoot a single flower... the possibilities are endless! Plus, flowers will always sit still for you to shoot, and they are always colorful and aesthetically pleasing! But probably my favorite subject to photograph are birds. Everything about them is so elegant. I enjoy photographing birds in flight, on the ground, in the water, eating, nesting, whatever. When I'm shooting birds, whether in the wild or in captivity, I just get completely lost in it. It is a wonderful feeling!

Cool! I do not know if you have noticed this but what you have just mentioned are two phallic symbols. The flower is symbolic of femininity and the bird is symbolic of masculinity. I have never tried taking pictures of both of them but I will make time to try having these two things as my subject in photography. Both are two beautiful creatures. I think it would be nice to take pictures of them. Thanks for the ideas. I was fascinated with your favorite subjects. Thanks.

Oh wow! I've never realized that, but you're right! Hmm... now I'm starting to wonder why those are my favorite subjects to photograph! But it's true... I like the softness and femininity of shooting flowers, and I also like the more rugged and wild masculinity of shooting birds. My favorite photos of birds that I've taken are of birds that have just caught fish... I'm drawn to the whole hunt and kill aspect of it. That is very interesting indeed... thanks for pointing that out!

I like contrasts too - but for me they come by the way of jutting mountain peeks and deep valleys - snow caps on stone mountains and water falls spraying fine mists and creating rainbows. Bubbling brooks gently breaking against rocks - trees in bloom lining a country road - filtering rays of golden light through their branches - creating shadows along the way - this same path as seen in the winter with the branches gently arching under the weight of glistening ice... rolling hillsides and a farmers lonely and weathered barn, the colors of autumn all about. photos can be so poetic.

That is good to hear. You gave a lot of new ideas. I will make sure to try them all out. I will be taking up FOTOCOM or photo communication in college. The course photo communication requires a lot good pictures and editing. You were right about the photos being poetic so poetic. A picture is worth a thousand words. It could mean so much and people have their own interpretations when it comes to this form of art.

i guess mine would have to be water as well, not only the beach (which i love) but a lake as a whole from different angles (ie on the hill, on the shore etc) but my most favourite type of water is waterfalls! i absolutely love them!

It would be nature photography, specifically water bodies and rivers are first and then after that flora/plantlife. Skylines and other nightscape are also favorites of mine in photography.

I'm a big fan of scenery photography. I also like settings such as beaches, but I'll go for other landscapes as well. I'm also quite enthusiastic about historic buildings or railroad tracks. It may sound strange, but I find them quite beautiful and interesting.
