I normally have very short hair. I let it grow out just past my shoulders at my sisters request for her wedding - i was a bridesmaid. After the wedding last august i was going to cut it all off. When i said i was going to my boyfriend asked if i'd leave it long for a while cause he liked it that way. So i did. 6 months later...I'm tempted to cut it right off. I like low maintaence BUT i'm loving being able to tie it away from my face now. I said again i was going to cut it this time he didnt ask all he said was "its your hair i like it both ways but.. you never let it get very long" which pretty much says he wants me to keep it long. I've decided to leave it long for now...til he lays on it and complains cause i woke him up to make him get off my hair. Would leave your hair longer or cut it off if asked by your significant other? or would you just do as you felt happier with?

It's so funny that you should post this because I woke this morning wishing I could just cut if off but my husband loves my hair and has asked me to keep it long and so I have. So, I guess the answer to this question is, yes I would. My husband doesn't ask much of me and he is a very patient loving individual and is very giving and so, I don't mind fulfilling this request for him.

the way i look at it is it is my hair and i have to like not anyone else. also i would never ask my husband to only wear his hair a certain way just because i like it. he has to like it.

I think I would have to do what makes me happiest because I am the one that has to deal with the hair.

Lucky for me coz my fiancee likes my hair always. He doesn't have any preferences as long as , he says, I'm comfortable and happy with it. But if he's going to ask me one day to make it short or grow it longer, then I'd consider his request just as long as I don't look funny.

Thanks for responding. I like to consider requests before outright saying no. Sometimes ive even use soemthing like cosmo fashion and "tried" the style on a photo of myself.

This really don't bother me cos noone has ever asked me to leave my hair longer or shorter. I guess I would do what I think is good for myself if I'm in your position. As long as you look good in it, I think length doesn't really matter :)

I do it to make him happy. He shaves his face to make me happy (i get tired of facial hair burns after kissing and end up asking him to shave) Its a good give and take Thanks for responding

I keep my hair relatively long for my hubby. Also for myself thouhgh- I have had short hair and it just doesn't suit me. When I get the urge to change I color or straighten it. You could also try adding bangs if you don't already have them. Long hair is just so much more versatile to me.

It is.. I really like being able to style it or curl it...and tye it back. I do however miss the ease of styling/speed of short hair.

I am true to myself. Years ago my hubby wanted me to cut my hair. I didn't do it. Four years later I decided to give myself a new look and called a stylist. I went home with a different look indeed. My hair went from waist length to shoulder length. Then a few years later it went just above my chin. Didn't like that. Now I am growing it out again. It is my choice, nobody will dictate what I do with my hair.

i would leave my hair as it is and the way i want it. i will not make my partner decide on what kind of hair i will have. of course i will ask for a suggestion on what looks good on me or not and the rest is still up to me. :)

i have long hair by choice. As Ive gotten older, I have cut it a bit shorter...shoulder length just because it looks much better. I have had boyfriends that have asked me to grow it out to how it used to be. I care what they think but I also know what it looks like on my that long anymore so I don't. I think you should go with what feels right for you. It sounds as if your boyfriend loves you for who you are and that is the way it should be. If you decide to keep it long, I have found that long angled layers look great and are low maintainance.

I always had really long hair as a child, down to my knees until I was 11 or 12, because my whole family liked it, and it was my dad's dream for it to reach the ground. I got sick of it, though, and cut it to just below my shoulders, where it stayed until 3 years ago or so, when I decided I'd get a modernised bob-style, with a fringe. It was a bit of a risk, but I absolutely love it. My boyfriend loves my hair when it's at my shoulders and he always insists that I weat it out, which I have become more comfortable doing now =) At the moment it's between my chin and shoulders, with some long sections that hang past my shoulders. I have quite curly hair, and it looks pretty good =) To answer your question: If my partner wanted me to grow/keep my hair long and I didn't want to or didn't like it then I wouldn't, but we would probably come to some kind of compromise, like me wearing my hair down more often, even though it gets hot on my neck =P

I was lucky never to have any pranks pulled on me, I think I intimidated most people when I was younger, I went through puberty at 9 and was taller and more mature and could get pretty angry, so people knew better than to **** with me, so to speak =P But I did have a lot of people accidentally sit on it when I went to assemblies, and it was a pain to wash and take care of every day. I always feared that someone would stick gum in my hair, but I was lucky. Getting lice was always a major problem though with that much hair, so we always used kerosene - SO horrible =P

kerosene works for that? I knew tea tree oil did.

Wow thats really long hair you had. Just thinking of it that long made me remember a girl in high school had it that long and one day the boys tied her hair to the desk legs as a prank. She was furious with them..and she cut her hair pretty soon after that to about waist length.

I have long hair. thats what I had when my husband and I met. A few years ago I went to get a trim, he said get it cut short. I said okay i'll try it. He absolutely loved it. I on the other hand hated it. I kept it short for about a year and half for him. but I couldn't take it any longer. I let it grow back. I finally got it long again. He still says he likes it short, but I have to go with what I feel comfortable with and that is long hair. He still loves me lol.

I am not too picky about the lenght of my hair. I let it grow long and then I get sick of it and chop it. This last time, I chopped off 11 inches and donated it to Locks of Love. If you are thinking about chopping it and it is long, you should donate it. Alot of salons will even cut it for free. The Greats Clips by me did mine for free. http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html

Thats an awesome thing to do. If it gets long enough that they will take it then thats whay I'll do. Honestly though I'm tempted to let it grow out until we find out if my sister needs chemo and if she does..THEN have it cut for her.

Were actually on the same boat. Earlier this morning on my way to work, I noticed that my hair is almost at my waist. I told my hubby that my hair is way too long and he said that it compliments me. I gave him a weird look and made a mental note that I need to cut my hair but it will be a shoulder length so it's not that short at all. My point is to meet half-way with your husband. I for one, it's difficult for me to maintain a long hair. The ends are somehow dry now so I want it shortened a little bit or trimmed.

I prefer having a short hair but my husband loves it long. So i see to that i dont cut it too short, its a very small adjustment you do to keep your better half happy.

Would leave your hair longer or cut it off if asked by your significant other? or would you just do as you felt happier with? HELL NO!! I've been growing my hair for a very long time now and there is no freakin way I'd cut it off, change the style or colour or how I wear it to please some guy regardless of whether or not I'm married to him...LOL..

After you have grown your hair to a length that you like, then why not have a picture of yourself taken ,then put that picture into a frame, then hang the picture on the wall so that your friend can see you with your hair long or short. Have a great day from Deeeky.

My husband always said to me, he likes my hair longer. And it wasn't just him who said that to me. Other people would say that to me. I do go through this phase like very few years, when I want a change. My mom would never want me to cut my hair. I had to have it long. Only few times I was allowed to have a haircut. So I feel sometimes like I want a big change and have this great haircut. Unfortunatelly my hair is very wavy and I cannot have "fancy" haircuts. But when I do have a haircut, I feel great. But few days after I regret it, because it took me long time to grow my hair. I guess we do tell our partners, we prefer them with our without facial hair and they may want to make us happy. So really whatever makes you happy, you should do ;-)

I respect other people opinions about what my hair looks like better..but I still like to style it as i want to. Sometimes Its fun to do as my partner asks...and others i just want to cut it off and be low maintenance! Thanks for responding
28 Apr 08
My partner wouldn't dream of asking me to cut my hair and I certainly wouldn't change my hair style or length for anyone. It is my choice and I feel that if people don't like it, well that's their problem.

I have always did whatever I wanted with my hair. I know that my partner likes it long and light but I don't always do that. I have grown my hair really long and then cut it into a boy cut donating the long locks. But since I color my hair now and cut it myself I usually just do whatever and hope it turns out okay. LOL

Even if it doesnt turn out ok...its just hair it grows back. I ususally never have the patience to let my hair get really long.

I personally couldnt shave my head. I just love my hair and at the moment its longer than its ever been, but I do admire a lady who would cut off her crowning glory. I cant imagine being without it... i suppose thats because its so versatile and its almost as if it adds to making me feel sexy, womanly, girly, bedraggled ectr. What i wouldnt do, is change it for anyone. I am what i am and i gotta face that mirror you know.

That makes alot of sense. I've never been able to bring myself to shave my head but its always fun to tease about it. I think I'd be able to do it if i was asked for something like cancer. It grows back.
