I’ve noticed that a lot of ppl have been parking on the side of the streets. Even when they have a driveway, they just pull up in front of the house and park. Some of the streets here in town are really narrow so it tends to make you go really slow and pray you don’t hit anyone. I don’t know why if ppl have driveways that they have to park on the street.
My Mom has a driveway, it only holds 2 cars and is generally always full but she also has a garage. I know why she doesn’t park in the garage…it’s totally full of stuff. She couldn’t fit a bicycle in there much less a whole car. They generally have two cars in the driveway and three cars on the street. Luckily she lives on a corner lot so two can be parked in front on the wider street.
Although we don’t drive, we have a parking lot and you can get a lease violation if you park on the street in front of the complex. I see ppl doing it all the time though.
Do you park on the street, in your driveway or in the garage? Does it bother you when ppl park in the street and you have to maneuver around their cars? Do you think ppl should get ticketed for it?

No my house sits way back off the street and i have a very long drive way..I have never had to park on the street.I think parking on the street you are taking a risk for sure..People could come by at night, hit your car and take off and damage is done and you have no way of knowing you did it...I would try never to park on the street...I think thats what a drive way is for,its to park your car...

I live in the country and I have a very large driveway. When we have parties or get togethers- we park people in the side yard. No one on the street.
When I go to town to my best friends house- I park in the parking lot down the street and walk up-- it's a very short walk. I won't park in the street- I find it rude. If I'm picking up my daughter from a friends house then I will park there for a few minutes--- but not if I planned to stay. I hate- hate- hate waiting in the strre for the other traffic to pass because we can't get 2 cars down the streets due to people parking there. Yes I think they should be tickted! especially if they leave their cars there for a long period of time!

Around here the neighborhoods all have cars parked on the strets in front of the houses. It could be because there are no basements and the garages are most likely full of stuff. Even in nice neighborhoods you see a lot of cars - the only ones that don't would be the ones that have rules on parking I guess. It looks kind of messy, but you get used to it.

We have a garage but park in the driveway. We have a car and my husband has his company truck. It is ok when a neighbor is having a get together and their company parks in the street but please don't park and block our driveway. What is really irritating though are people across the street when they park in the street and make it hard to get out of our own driveway, not sure why they can't park in their own driveway, block their driveway or at least part of theirs or move it up or back some so it does not make it hard to get out of our own driveway.
If the vehicle is left there for a certain period of time then yes, I say ticket them.

When at home, we park under the house. Our house is old and built on stilts due to the fact that the town we live in floods every now and then. The car lives under the house along with our laundry and a play area for our girls.

There is no parking in my apartment building (a little old building that's been around for atleast 40 years, I think), so I don't know what residents with cars do. There's no place to park on the narrow streets out back.
This doesn't bother me though, because I don't drive. I just use the bus stops.

No people should not get ticket for something like that. I know when I go to visit my family people have to park on the streets because there is no room in their driveway. Its not like they are staying there forever. And we need somewhere to park!LOL

We park on the street but that is cos we don't have a driveway! My Gran does and I always used to use that to park in when I went there although my car is parked there constantly til I can drive again - it is better off road than parked on the roadside permanently! xxx

we always park in the driveway, but my cousin down the street
used to park both his cars in front of his house purposely,so
no one could park there.the house between us has no parking for it's tenants (which is probably illegal)so they park anywhere,
occasionally over the yellow on my driveway.
i'd only call the cops if they gave me reason to though.like blocking my driveway.

I was going to start a similar discussion! IN our old neighborhood, people moving in started parking on their front lawns! The few frogs that we had left have not been seen in ages! I saw one, tiny, light green frog in the ten years that we were living there! Other people parked on the sidewalk, with the wheels half on the sidewalk and half on the street! The biggest problem that California has with cars, is that so many households have five cars or more! Yes, it does bother me that people value their cars (some are more like boats or mini-houses) more than their neighbors!

I live in a House with a garage and driveway.
My garage is kinda messy right now full of stuff for a yard sale and baby kitties plus the Mama.
I park in the driveway and if anyone comes to visit they park behind me in the driveway.
I live on a corner lot and when we have get togethers they park on all sides of the street.

In our county technically there is no parking on any side streets. Like that actually stops them. We have a lot who park on the streets when there is no need. Now if a cop car comes down there he could give them a ticket for it but they never seem to. Our drive way is big enough to hold up to four cars if they are double spaced. If we have more then that I tell people to park on the yard. It's what we do when we go to my parents place to, there driveway can only hold two cars. We park up on their yard not on the street.
What bugs me though are people in my area will park on a curve. Hello, where is the sense in that? I keep waiting for my neighbors to get their car smashed because of this. They constantly park their car on the street and they are on a curve. You would think they would know better.

We live in a fourplex townhouse area where there are three buildings with four townhouses each in them. Our parking lots have only room enough for two cars per unit. All others have to park across the street.People around here get alittle annoyed it their parking slot is taken even for just a few minutes. But noone gets ticketed for that. I have seen when we rented a house, the cops occasionally check on a car that had been parked for a long time on the street. Then the cops, if they cant find the owner will put an abandoned vehicle sticker on it and have it towed away after a period of time.

I park in my own driveway but I only have my car so it works. Even if I had friends over, my drive is long and wide so plenty of room to park. What irks me the most is your on a one-way street with cars parked on both sides and some jerk decides to double-park with flashers on. I've had to wait for 10min. once when someone did that and it made me late for an appointment on the next block. Can't turn around so no other way around them.

Hi There,
I must say it does get a little frustrating having to wave in and out on my way home to actually get to my driveway. It seems that people will basically park anywhere with little consideration for those around them. I have even had somebody blocking my driveway a couple of times and did not show up to move their car for over an hour. I am not somebody to say ticket everyone...but there are times when it is needed.
cheers,

I do have a drive off the alley but I generally park on the street. The street is wide enough for cars to park. I like going in my front door that is why I park on the street.
I do get ticketed and have twice in the last year for forgetting not to move my car when it is street sweeping day and that really gets my goat when I forget not to move my car on Wednesday mornings!

We always park in the driveway and so does anyone visiting us.. It can be a bit dangerous parking in the street, especially when people drive like they do.. I am not sure if they should get a ticket for it but they may be taking chances doing it.. on a less busy street it might be safer to park on the road but I don't think that I would if it were a busy street.. Even with insurance covering your car, the hassles wouldn't be worth it..
