Don't Touch...

Most ppl in today’s world are affectionate. We tend to hug, pat on the back, high-five or hold hands. Some ppl are uncomfortable showing affection but for the most part ppl do it several times a day. You might hug your mom or dad, hug your kids, hold hands with partner, play patty cake with your baby or any number of other signs of affection.
I’m not a big affection person except with my Mom, my Nephew and my Hubby. I don’t think I could not give them hugs or kisses when I want to or when they want one.
What if tomorrow all displays of affection were immediately illegal punishable by jail time? Would you go to jail? Could you live life without having any physical contact with anyone else? (Of course, we’d need a lot more jails LOL)
I’d end up in jail I’m sure.

We all need a touch from others...In my heart of hearts,i feel if we could not hug, hold hands are s how affection that we would get sick, maybe both mentally and physically...We all need a human touch...People who do not have another person in the entire world need pets to love..Love is am emotion that i feel keeps you healthy, without the human touch we would loose touch with reality..That is just my opinion....Just think about it for a moment...Not any touches,no hugs,no pats,no physical emotion,no love,no kisses,no human touch! how could a person be healthy like that?

Uh - being one of the most marvelous - eerrrr - I mean - marble-less minds on MyLot, if that law took effect, stayed in effect long enough, & was abided by, humans would go extinct because it is usually that touch of affection that leads to manufacturing babies for the next generation of humans.

I do like some affection but I am not a touchy feely type of person. I don't mind it as long as the person isn't pitching a tent up my butt and camping out, as a friend would say. Could I live without it? No, I don't think I could. I would go to jail everytime I turned around, I'm sure. As would just about everyone else.

I would end up in prison for ever I am afraid. I am a very tactile and affectionate person, it is just the way I am and I cannot see myself coping with never hugging or kissing anyone again!
This sounds like an absolute nightmare to me and I am pretty sure I would end up a
gibbering wreck! xxx

I would be in there with you.. I am not overly affectionate but I do show affection with my sone and with hubby.. He is much affectionate that I am, but he would be there also.. Growing up, my family wasn't affectionate, we never said the words, "I love you" but we always knew it.. But about six months before my mother passed away, (we knew she was dying, she was 90 ys old and getting sicker),I thought about this and decided that I was going to start saying it to her.. That was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do.. Not because I didn't love her but becuase we were never affectionate.. I took care of my mother, cooked, cleaned, and spent 24 hour periods with her, she knew that I loved her and would lay down my life for her, but I never said I love you, I showed it always but never said it.. The first time that I did, I hugged her before leaving for the day and whispered in her ear, "I love you mama".. She told me she loved me and hugged me harder than ever before.. After that day, I couldn't wait to tell her that I loved her, I told her evertime that I got a chance to and my only regrets now are that I didn't do it sooner.. She has been gone for over a year now and I do miss her so much but am so glad that I did start showing more open affection with her..
So, I guess that I would go to jail now if it were outlawed.. I am not going to miss out on that anymore.. Hubby would go to jail because he wouldn't stop having contact with my behind.. Even in public, he will pat my behind, even after 40 yrs of trying to make him stop, yep, he would be in there with us..

Looks like the culture is different depending on where we live and people are different too. I can hug some of my friends but in northern Scandinavia we are just learning to show more affection than we were used to before.
I really long for more physical contact, as I have no close relatives.
I´m trying to remember to hug those who accept and like it - it is so important for the physical and emotional health. No wonder they talk about women who live alone having a cat, as cats are very affectionate..
I guess we´ll not go to jail for hugging our friends..at least not where I live..

Me too!
I would be in jail for sure... I will lose all my money in bailing myself everyday lolz. I love hugging and giving a kiss to my boyfriend and my little sister a lot.
When I see old friends whom I know forever... I sometimes give them a hug. I can't really live without affection in this world. That is cruelty. hehehe. Thanks!

Reserve the bunk next to you because I'd be guilty of breaking that law every day. Hey, I have kids and love my partner very much, so I'd be locked up just for doing what comes naturally in our household.

Hi. twoey68. I am very affectionate when it comes to may family, friends and people that I feel very comfortable around. I don't hug and kiss people that I don't know. I may smile and shake their hand though. I would surely go to jail, because being affectionate is something that I tend to react out everyday in my life.

I probably would, I would completely forget. My boyfriend has a cold sore at the moment and I don't want to catch it, so I haven't been able to kiss him for over a week and it has been so tempting that it is now bordering on annoying. So not being able to kiss forever would be too much.

I am not a very affectionate person except with those very close to me, but I would end up in jail. I grew up in a family that did not show affection and I don't want my daughter grow up that way. I show her affection every day, whether it be a hug, a hand on her shoulder, a kiss goodnight. I don't want her to be uncomfortable around it like I was when I was younger.

I would not do to jail. I would start a revolution and put to jail (or to an asillum) all the people responsible for such a stupid law. By the way, the law could be inforced in some countries any time. Now children are taken away from their parents and taken to horrible foster homes on the grounds of abuse just because you don´t let the brats do whatever they want. I believe in hugging and I believe in a pat on the butt if needed. That is part of love and caring.

i don't think that i am really an affectionate person... i only hugs my hubby and family members... even that, i didn't do it too often... i also hug people who i see is in need such as if the person is so upset and crying... even that, i only hug female and not male... i don't know... i just don't feel too comfortable hugging someone who is not close enough with me...

I could live without hugging or kissing but wouldn't like it. If it was illegal I wouldn't assert myself to hug or kiss in public. I'd prefer to avoid jailtime as a result of showing public affection. It could wait until private time at home and I would be just fine.

That would be about as dumb as telling teachers they cant hug the little kids. I'm not that much of a hugger but I dont have a problem with it. I guess I would end up in jail.LOL!
