My friend Jin called me days ago,"Guess what?I aced my last job interview. It was perfect!Perfect job and perfect for me!",his voice was full of joys.I was really happy for him too.
But just now he called me,he said he was really disappointed about the new job for the wages are peanuts compared with the job he had before."Didn't you ask about the salary in the interview?"I asked."I was too excited about the job then,I really like the job,but I didn't expect that salary is so low."I really feel for him. They tricked him.I think he should give up the job. What do you think?

depends how easy it is to find other jobs, if it is hard a job with low salary is better than no salary at all, and he could take it until he finds better, but if there are lots of jobs and he knows he can get them then he doesn't have to take this one and wait for a better one.

its a major problem. i think your friend should speak about the salary during the interview. salary is the main thing for which we change the job. it is the mistake from his part i guess. he was too excited with the job. he should have thought what will come to the pocket.

He should of known the salary they were going to offer that position, I'm sure they would of mentioned it or given a range of where the job starts to where it ends.

It is necessary to ask for the salary first... even though money is not everything, but without enough money in life, there will be problems occurred.... I don't know how much salary your friend earn, but as long as he/she feel enough about the salary in terms of paying bills and so on.. it should be ok..

if no other work i will remain but if i can find another better than that so why you remain. looking a job nowadays is not easy. many difficulties you encounter that is why i am not working anymore instead i put up my own business, although at the beginning it really small but days pass by now i consider my business a good one because of the standing and the reputation we had to our customers. save money now and prepare for venturing business. don't waste your time for being employee until you get old.

It's happened to a good many people, unfortuately! I say he keeps looking and hopefully finds something that meets BOTH criteria!

If he needs more money then I think he should quit and find one that will pay the bills. However if it really is his dream job and he loves what he is doing then I think he should keep the job. I start a new job last week and I didn't know what the pay was until today. I don't really need the job but I enjoy it and it is something to do so I don't care what they pay for it.

That is a tough call. Jobs are hard to come by but good paying jobs are even harder. I always say the best time to look for a job is when you already have one. At least that way you do have money coming in. It is a hard choice to make, giving up a job you really like for a job you may not like as well or at all but pays better. Sounds to me your friend has to weigh out his options and see what is more important for him.

Nothing is perfect, especially when it comes to jobs.. It's either we have high paying jobs with tedious work load or low paying jobs with easier life.. Unless u are your own boss or director, if not u are only working in the name of the position but the work load are worse off den any other employees..
So if he like the job, than he should stay.. Because the odds of finding your dream job is low as well as high paying jobs.. If he stays, who knows after few months of probations, he might get an increment in pay?? haha

sometimes destiny is like that. when you found the job you like later then you will realize the pay is not worth. and there are jobs you hate the most but it pays good. we people are always caught in the middle of this kinds of situation. if this happens to me i will still give it a shot. it may change depends on the working performance. but if the pay is really not worth then i will find another job.

That must be so disappointing for him. If it were me, I would ask myself firstly if the job, dream job or not, payed enough for all of my bills. If not, then of course I just couldn't take it.
But, however, if it does pay the bills and I knew I would really love each and every day and look forward to going to work, then it would be worth the low pay.
The low pay would hopefully only be temporary; if he loves his duties, then I'm sure he would work hard, people would see this and he would get a promotion :)
Have a great day, and tell your friend good luck :)

I would have to say that if he really likes the job and can make it on the salary they are paying him, then I would stick with it and hope for a raise later on. It is so hard to find a job that you enjoy working at. some jobs pay alot of money but make a person miserable in the workplace.

I think he should stay around for a while. Money is not always everything. If he has enough to make his bill then he should wait and see what happens.
Some say there is no perfect so maybe salary is what is sacrificed in this perfect job.
I must say that I don't think I have ever asked about wages during an interview. In my country I am fairly lucky that there are fairly decent minimum wages, however at the same time I am sure that a good days work gets a good days pay!

What a shame, I really feel for him, but one of the things that you do in the interview is ask all those questions before you leave!! Is it too late for him to back out and maybe get his other job back? I think that is what I would be doing, I would be trying my hardest to get back to where I was before.

AS others have said, wage is important but not the only thing to consider. If your friend loves this job, he probably would love moving up in the organization. I would consider the opportunities that this job might bring in experience, potential growth and exposure to the industry.

I guess it depends on how unhappy I was in my previous job and if this job will give the opportunity to move up or get experience that is needed. If he really likes the job that is good. When you don't like your job, life is difficult at best. I would say if the salary is something he can live off and the job makes him happy, he should do it. Maybe it will lead to something better in the future within the field that makes him so happy.
