Not physical, but like singing, dancing, cooking, baseball playing, collecting coins, etc. My mom,her brother,my father are musical and my father-in-law had a great singing voice. But,it skipped a generation, lol.Neither me or my sister or my husband and any of his sibbling's inherit any musical ability. However, both me and my husband's kids are musically inclined. I know this is going to sound really weird but my mom, myself and my daughter all like paper. We have lot's of stationary, notebooks, paer of various kinds.

I get my music and singing inherits from my mom she used to listen to music and sing alot. She was big into Elvis. I also inherited a big careing heart from both of my parents for they were always trying to do something nice for others I find myself being the same way.

Oh I should also mention though that I'm adopted so "inheriting" anything from either of them really wouldnt happen anyway..

My grandmother was artistic. She actually was a school art teacher. Now my mother and I can't draw a straight line. I once drew a very nice picture of a person, to date I think it is my best artwork yet. But it took so much time and patience that I could never do it again. I really had to set my mind to it, and I'm just not all that interested in art.
My children on the other hand, especially the oldest, love to draw, and for their age they are very good little artists. My grandmother's gene must have missed a couple of generations and passed on to my kids.

Interesting question!
From my mom's side of the family, I inherited my musical ability. I don't play any instruments, but can pick up a guitar and read music well enough to play along for a 4time beat. Mind you, I can't play Hendrix without a lot of practice, but I've always been able to just pick it up and play. I also got my singing voice from my mother's side. Our entire family writes and records songs that are then bought by artists that you actually have heard of.
From my dad's side of the family, I got my humor. Or at least a little bit of it. Whether we are directly laughing at them or with them, my dad's side of the family is all hysterical. I like to think I at least got a little bit of humor from them. I know I got the ability to laugh. :)

I have my mother's calmness and restraint (as in holding back things that should not be said in arguments) and I have my father's temper. They are COMPLETE opposites in this part of characteristics and I have headaches all the time b/c of this.
I get my take anything you got in the cupboard and make it a meal kind of cooking skill from my mother. I have gotten my if it is broken try to fix it from my father. I always tell the truth (got that from both of them). I make sarcastic responses with loads of logic, that's my dad there.
Over the years most people say I am more like my mom. But I think it is equal. I look more like my mom which is why I think people say that, but I think more like my dad. Which can raise some argumentative conversations btween the two of us ironically.

Like I said before I have a Cherokee temper and I get real mad if Iam pushed. But,during that time while Iam being pushing,Iam being used and taken advantage of.During this time I get a lot of stress which causes high blood pressure.

From my father I got art (drawing & painting), a love of having horses & riding, the ability to figure out how to duplicate things without instructions, and a love of music. From my mother, I found sewing, crocheting, cooking, designing patterns, writing (poems & stories) and the lost art of patience.

well, my mother is a worried and emotional person and i am... my mother is a good cook and i can say i am too to a certain extent (though i am not as good as my mum and i am still learning)... my parents are both very persistent and hardworking and i am too... there are many others that i can't remember... all i can say that i inherited most of their positive traits instead of the negative ones...

I inherted playing piano by ear from my father. I can read the notes to a sheet of music. It just seems easier to me to pick out the notes when I play a piano. My father and sister both play piano as well. My sister was very good at it but she quite. My father, sister and I can all sing pretty well also. Although I haven't sing in years and neither has my sister. We both sung at church.I belive it is something we both inherited from from our father.

hi dfollin
hmm, i like drawing and many people said that i can draw well
when i ask my parents, none of them can draw
i also like art and beautiful things,
like painting, woven cushion, etc.. and none of my parents understand arts .. (- -)
i like singing very much and i also understand tones,
but none of my parents can sing..
my mother sings very awful .. LoL
she cannot find the right tone even if we played the song at the same time.. hahahaa, sorry mom !
i believe myself has a good sense of fashion,
but my father has nothing with it.. hmm, i think my mother has the sense, but i'm not really sure with her touch.. LoL
well, i guess i might have something inherited,
but i cannot figure it out..
maybe later, hehee
thanks dfollin .. ^^

My dad always has had a wonderful singing voice, and both my sister and I inherited that from him. He is also a wonderful artist, and eventhough I can't draw or paint like he can I do have other artistic abilities, but my sister doesn't. Both of my daughters have wonderful singing voices as well. From my mom, I learned my writing abilities, she has always had a knack for writing, and I got that from her. I also inherited, from my mother, to ask questions, don't just accept everything for face value. My love for reading I got from both of my parents, and also that I could become anything I wanted too, including a wildland firefighter. I got my love for hunting and fishing from my dad.

I'm a very musical person and I have no idea where it comes from. My whole family is into the Arts in some form. But, instrument wise, only me and aunt play guitar. I remember that my grandma loved to sing and so does one of my aunts. I guess we all have talent in creating things as well.

It is possible to inhert traits from your grandparents and your parent's siblings.Matter of fact with physical features also.My uncle looks like his mother (my grandma)'s sister. When my oldest son was a toddler he looked like my sister.

My mother was a pack rat and so am I. We also both liked to have lots of paper. different sizes of notebooks, notepads, stationary, etc.
She liked to read and I do too, although most of the reading I do is on-line any more. We both like to sew. My mom could cook anything, I can also, the only thing is, she liked to cook, I don't enjoy it.

My mom and dad were both musical and all of us kids are too...however most of the grandkids can't carry a tune in a bucket. My mother loved doing all kinds of crafts...and so do I. I am the only daughter of three though that really loves doing them with the exception of scrapbooking...all three of us love to do that.

I think I inherited my musical ability from both my parents. I sing, which I got that from my mother, she sings, and my sisters sing, I have 3 sisters. I also play the guitar and bass guitar, which I got from my father, because he played the guitar, I taught myself to play, it wasn't hard at all for me. I have 4 uncles on my fathers side and they all play guitar. My brother also plays guitar and is a drummer. I have 4 nephews and they are all musically inclined, they are all interested in musical instruments. Hopefully they will learn to play something someday...

Things like this always seem to skip a generation in my family. My grandma and her siblings were very musical and while my dad didn't really inherit this, both me and my sister did, and we went on to play several instruments. Also, my dad was very sporty and this ability bypassed me and my sister, but it looks as if my daughter is going to take after him, which I think is really nice.
