Do you like fried bologna sandwiches?

Yes! We sure do. I can get it on sale 10 packages for $10 many times at the store. I keep it in the freezer and just take it out and thaw it when I am ready to fry it. I used to fry it with spraying pam in my iron skillet. Now all I have to do is warm up the George Foreman grill and throw three pieces on at a time and fry it without all the mess.
We eat mustard on our sandwishes. What do you eat on your fried bologna sandwiches?
These are easy to fix and great for days I just don't feel up to cooking a big meal or we are in a hurry. For example, we are having them for supper tonight because it is church night and I didn't want a lot of clean up after supper.

Fried bologna sandwiches are awesome. I love ketchup on my fried bologna sandwiches. Sometimes I even put onion on them. I only use white bread for my fried bologna sandwiches. I have been eating fried bologna sanchwiches since I was a child. They make a great lunch.

I have fried quite a few pieces ahead of time and carried them in my lunch or eat them for lunch the next day. My husband has taken them in his lunch also. I have never tried an onion on them but may have to try it. Thanks for posting.

This reminds me of something I used to eat in school they where called Bologna Boats and it was fried bologna on a plate with a round ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes then on top of that I think they sprinkled seasoning salt, and it was actually really good lol. Another thing I loved was tator tot cassarole I have made the recipe you find on the internet but it just doesn't taste the same as when I was in school.

Yep!
Bologna is basically junk, much like hotdogs, but I still love it. I try not to eat it too much but my husband likes bologna and cheese sandwiches, so I eat more of it than I should.
I haven't had a fried bologna sandwich in some time, but it sure sounds good. I should have had that for lunch!

My husband loves bologna and cheese sandwiches as well as the fried sandwiches. I know they are not too good for us but we do eat them every now and then. Thanks for posting.

This is interesting. My mom always buys bologna for her grandkids. She likes it herself. I was fed bologna when I was a kid and I'll eat it, but only when I want something really quick and there's nothing else. Maybe I view bologna as a kids food, or a poor man's food. I just don't see it as a "real" food - possibly like junk food.

Yes we lived on it quite a bit when I was growing up. It was a "poor man's food", but I still like it fried. I can't eat it raw but do like it fried. Thanks for posting.

OMG I've not had "Newfie Steak" in YRS....like since I was a young teenager! Mind you I ended up with a serious distaste for it after having to live off it way back in the day...I can't stand the stuff so intensely now that even the smell of bologna makes me sick...

Well if you had to live off of it for a while, I'm sure you are "burned out" on it. Thanks for posting.

This is what i like about this web site you get to hear about different foods that you did not know existed. I love trying new foods, especially anything that is not english.

It is a lunch meat, like ham and turkey and hotdogs. It is more like hot dogs but in a slice for sandwiches. Maybe you will find some and try it. Thanks for posting.

Yep throw mine in the skillet with a bit of butter, put cheese on it, some sautéed onions, put mayo on the bun. None one thing good for you in this sandwich except the onions, but if we got to go then lets go fast. lol My cholesterol medicine seems to handle all the bad stuff thank god.

I haven't had fried bologna or bologna in a very long time. Though at the price with the price of food these days, it wouldnt hurt to get a couple of packages to put in the freezer. I would probably break down the packages in smaller packages and freeze because I would be afraid it would go bad before I ate it all.
I usually go to church on Wednesday nights as well, but I've worked a lot of hours over the last several weeks and just needed a nap to catch up on a little sleep. I hate that I missed church especially since I don't miss church too often.

Yes, we eat fried bologna sandwiches once in awhile. They aren't the healthiest sandwich to have!
I don't spray anything in the pan when I make them, bologna doesn't seem to stick.
I use mustard as well. Mustard and bread only. My husband wants mustard, mayo, cheese...he is a pain!
My mom eats her with ketchup which I think is nasty but to each their own!

Hi there!
I like those as well and only make them when I am wanting something to eat in a real hurry. Like a quick snack or dinner. I fry mine in butter (OMG so unhealthy right?) and I love to chop up raw onions and put ketchup and pepper sauce in my sandwich mmm. They are really good like that.

I have always liked fried bologna sandwiches exspecially when the edges get burnt a little and you know when you get puff in the middle and you have to take the fork and poke holes in it for it to go flat again. What about when you add the cheese. Or when you make the sandwich first and slow cook it in a skillet with butter. Now you know the Foreman grill is the way to go and i have not tried it that way and have one in the house. I have to try that.

Those are two different ways to try fried bologna. One with Miracle Whip and the other on a bun. They are both great ideas. Thanks for the post.

You are right. They are not very healthy. Anything easy to fix isn't too healthy here lately? LOL But it sure is good! I love lunch meat, ham fried also. Thanks for posting.

Yep...I sure do....unfortunately its not healthy for you tho, but it doesn't hurt to have it once in awhile. Just like frybread isn't good for you, but we still eat it. I grew up on fried bologna, when I have it, it reminds me of my younger days at home. Hmm..that sounds good, fried bologna on a piece of fry bread, sounds like home...lol.

My mom used to do this and I have too. It really is good. I personally don't like regular bologna that much, but it seems to have a different taste when it is fried.
I don't stop there though. I also fry my ham for sandwiches, and once in awile will fry turkey. Ham and bologna come out the best. I'll even throw a bit of cheese on long enough to start melting it before I toss it on bread.

Yes fried ham is great also. I have not ever fried my turkey though. I'll have to try that. My hubby likes the cheese, especially when it is starting to melt. Thanks for the post.
