who can handle families and Mylot at the same time.
I have seen several members here who are able to start dozens of discussions every day and I an in awe of your multi-tasking skills.
My husband was home for several days to do some things around the yard and so I was not able to spend much time on Mylot at all. It was like having toddlers under foot constantly. Where is this or that or help me with this fence project or just wanting someone there to hear him talk every minute.
How do you do it???
Do you have a Do Not Disturb rule for certain hours? Or a schedule for quiet time to focus on Mylot?
There must be some kind of master plan that works for you.
Please share.

I know what you mean. When I'm looking through for discussions to responds to I see so many of the same people with so many discussions. I am also amazed at this. I normally get up around the time my husband wakes up to go to PT (physical training- he's in the military) and I'll get online and start doing a little Mylotting and then he comes home about 2 hours later. I make breakfast for him and myself and I spend some time with him and our puppy until he leaves for work again. I then go back on to MyLot and continue until he comes home for lunch and then back again once he leaves. And when he comes home for good I just get off because we don't really get to spend enough time together so I spend the time I can. Even through out the day when he's gone I get off of MyLot because there's no new discussion I would want to reply to. And come back in a few hours hoping for something good.

It will be a bad idea to neglect the family for the sake of 'mylotting'.... You will have to manage your expensive time properly, for instance, I dedicate only and only 4 hours in mylot everyday...like that, that doesn't mean I neglect my work or academics. So, this is how I manage, and you can also try this rule out.

Well, I am Married, and maybe one of the Lucky ones as my husband allows me to be online, and a lot of time posting here in myLot even if he is home. For him it is a natural thing to see me online, and unless I am not feeling well when we are at home, if I am not online a lot of the time, he will joking ask if something is wrong with my Computer, or is my Internet down. For him, he enjoys the idea of me being able to be online and make some Extra $$ each month. Yea, it might not be that much, but it is something.
All I can tell you, is sometimes it takes Balance. I do take time to also spend with my husband when needed, but at the same time I have my time to be on here as well. You might want to show him this is a site you can make a little extra from, and see if he will allow you to be on here a little more, and then go from there. But some of the people who are on here a lot more often than I am, are usually Single with no job, etc.

The single ones I can understand, but some are home with children, husbands, etc. At least two that I know have special needs children as well. They must have a super system.
Once my husband starts watching his mindless action movies or boxing on TV I can safely leave the room because he is occupied and he knows I don't watch that stuff. lol.

No, my family comes first- unless I am in the middle of a profound thought- that doesn't happen too often...haha. But, sometimes, if I am interrupted I will forget what I was going to say...that happens alot...haha.
But, aside from the occasional "just wait a minute, let me finish what I am writing' they come first and I do myLot and my other computer activities on and off throughout the day. I also tend to stay up very late- long after everyone else is snoring away- and I get my time in then, too.
My post counts have ranged anywhere from 50 a day down to about 10 or so. I average about 20, though.

Hi there Nova. I'm lucky (I suppose you could call it that!) I don't have any kids but have a very possessive BF that usually wants my attention 24/7. But I have finally got him to listen to me. The mornings when I get up is MY time and I am allowed to do what I want to do especially if it means that I am MAKING MONEY!! LOL, it's not dollars a minute but it is something coming in!
Then if he is sitting reading a book at home then I will say that I will spend 'x' amount of time on the computer looking things up (preferably for him) and in the meantime I have another window open to mylot (tee hee!).
That's how I do it. I don't know how you people with young children do it, because I know that when you turn your back on them there is often silence which generally means that they are up to no good!
My hat is off to ALL of you who have hubbys (or not) and kids. Women are just fantastic at multi-tasking!
Thanks for sharing that with us!

Yep, they seem very similar the men in our lives. Oh well, get a routine set out and the main thing is to stick with it. They are like kids or dogs if you give them a routine and they know you are going to do something at the same time each day then they don't get upset with you for doing something that you enjoy but doesn't involve them! Tee hee.
Keep posting Nova!

Well, I don't have to multi-task too much. It's only Hubby, myself and Morgi so I just do some MyLot then go do a couple chores...do a little MyLot then go do some chores. That way everything gets done.

Same thing here, just the two of us and our 2 cats and 1 dog. Hubby is more distracting than the pets. lol
I just do a little MyLot and then, before I can walk away, there are more discussions of interest. I think I need to be more structured and self disciplined so I really can set a time frame and walk away to get things done.
Thanks, I was hoping for some magic formula I guess.

I'm not working at the moment so I can use the computer all day but I tend to let my boyfriend use it, when he comes in from work as he can't check his e-mails at work.
When he is off work it is another matter and we just kick each other of the computer from time to time, when we want to use it. Luckily we've just got a PS3 so there aren't any arguments.
