Do you ever wish...

Do you ever wish that you could block certain people on mylot? You know, just block their discussions and responses from getting in your way hehe. No, I don't wish I could. I like the other points of view, but sometimes certain people just get under my skin. They know they are doing it too, as I can see they are doing it on purpose. Funny people. Peace.

I've wished for that exact thing. On the other hand, I've wished, moments after posting a thread, that I could erase it too...

NO, I don't have problems with anyone on the site hon, but you know you can take them off your friends list, and that means they will have to go out and actively seek you to get to your discussions.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. If some members get out of hand, there are moderators to take care of them. Sometimes these posters look at things a little differently, and can broaden ones views on things.

I was just thinking about posting this as a discussion! I'm glad I read this notification first. Yes, I do wish we could block some people. Now when I say some, I am only thinking about a few types of people. The ones who always post that they don't know what you're talking about (you don't need to respond to say you don't know, just don't respond!), and the ones who like to start trouble in every single discussion. I don't mean just once in a while, but every one (not talking about just a difference in opinion). I don't know if I'd actually block someone from responding to my discussion, but it would be nice to have the option.

Not really,if they post something i cannot answer , I just pass it by..sometimes i am not aware of some things they post, like when they start talking about Tv shows that i might not watch, other than that its really not a problem....

Well, I have been known to turn notifications off on some of my friends, as not to clutter my mailbox, especially if they start bunches of discussions and hardly ever respond back and acknowledge any of their responses to the discussions they start!

hehe.. or even block them so they cant rate you... that is a lot of the problem... there are people out there going around rating people and they are not even reading the discussions... just automatically giving Negatives.... But ya... i know you feeling! LOL Have a great day!

There have been many times that I have wished I could block certain fractious individuals from some discussions, however that would be somewhat counterproductive to the idea that myLot is based on... the sharing of thoughts and ideas. If these individuals that you don't want to hear from are on your friends list, then it is very easy to at least remove them so that they don't get notifications of the things you post. Any time you make or answer a discussion you take the chance that someone will say something that you don't like... which is no different then everyday life. Not everyone is going to agree with everything you say all of the time.

It does not bother me. I can't really get upset at people I dont really know or who are living in different situations that I am.

Haha, I know what you mean. No, I wouldn't want to block them because that is not what a place like myLot is all about. But I admit that there are a few people that I get some perverse thrill out of rolling my eyes and just ignoring them every time I see one of their responses.

I don't wish I could block certain people and their discussions. I do understand what you mean about the whole certain people getting under your skin though. But then again I can get irritated kind of easily sometimes.

No, its not something i've wished so far. I have been skipping over posts of a few people that got under my skin when its a controversial discussion i'm reading. The ones that set me off i try not to read because if i do i get grumpy.

I wish we could like on other forums as I would really like to block some members who just start a lot of useless discussions. I just don't want to spend all my time going through discussions I don't want to see or read some responses I don't want to read.
