In the Bath Room, have you...

Hello to everyone
I was wondering so I figured I'd ask this here in the questions & answers section of the discussion interests.
We have a bath room at home that doesn't have a bath tub, should it still be called a bath room if I can't bathe myself in it?
Just kidding, that's just one of the things that I was wondering about but, not the one that made me decide to post it here.
Regularly taking a bath, which we all should always do in maintaining hygiene, I once tried to take one without the lights on. Not turning the lights on or lighting a candle as we often do at home when there's a black out, perhaps the whole area has no electricity or its just our place since we haven't payed the bills yet.
It was quite different from the usual, especially when I took my bath around noon time since it was so hot at our place. The always lit bath room felt different without the lights. I felt that it wasn't our bath room at all. Weird..
Have you tried taking a bath in your bath room without the lights on? How did it seem to you?
I know this inquiry isn't that mind boggling but, it just got me wondering.
If you have reached down to this point of this post of mine, I thank you for sparing some of your time in reading it. ^_^

Hmm...no lights at all, can't remember whether I've tried that. Anyway, we live in an apartment. The unit above us had a leakage problem so our main bathroom light was short circuited. Well, thank God there's the lights at the aisle & corridor from outside - just enough light so that we can see in our main bathroom at night. If not, I'll just on the light in the hall so the light would shine in. Oh yeah, I just remembered - we went for a mission trip in the interior of the jungle ( aborigines ) & there was no electricity. In the bathroom there was only one candle & it went out. This was night time & it was pitch dark. Well, it didn't bother me at all though I remembered one of the girls screamed when the candle went out, hahaha

Hmmm, you would still prefer taking a bath with light provided. That's what I comprehended when you gave alternate light sources when the bathroom light got short circuited..
taking a bath in the jungle, that's cool. What was the reason you guys were there?
Screaming girls in pitch black darkness (while taking a bath?) why am I amused?

Well, it was a church mission trip where we brought our youths there. Oh, the place was a shop lot just at the exterior of the jungle - I forgot about that one. The bathroom thingy was not in the middle of the jungle, hahaGot mixed up a little. We went into the jungle early next morning actually.

Our bathroom doesn't have a bath tub only a shower. it doesn't have a light too. We only utilize the light from the fluorescent light outside of the bathroom. We're used to it.

Can I call it a shower room then?
Hmmm, it doesn't have a light but uses the one outside that room.. would that mean that the bath or shower room isn't enclosed?
Sorry if I can't quite understand since all I could imagine is the bath or shower room door open so that the light outside can be used..

I've only showered in the dark when the power cuts out and im in the middle of a shower. It's different but I wouldnt say id never do it on purpose or complaina bout not being able to see the soap as with my glasses off i cant anyways.
Showering "blind" is tough as u sometimes goof and use conditioner first or shampoo as body was cause someone moved the bottles from their assigned spots. I'd hate to be completely blind

I often experience that too, the light turning off and shouting if someon switched it off since the light switch for our bath room is oddly placed just out side the bath room door.
I guess if it was too dark, I'd try to smell the bottle first if I picked out shampoo or the conditioner..

Wow I am actually leaving a comment on this haha. Well I went without a light in my bathroom for about 3 months before finally it was fixed. I live in a dormitory on an air force base so, I couldn't fix it myself. During the 3 months it was a bit strange but, at the same time romantic when I lit a couple candles and myself and my fiancee got in.

Well, you actually had something to share so you did left a reply
I see, for three months, you had that strange and then romantic experience when your fiancee joined in.
Hmmm, I always thought that bases only had shower rooms and no bath tubs... too much movies I guess made me think like that when it comes to bath or shower rooms at bases..

The mere mentioning of not asking where you found the soap might automatically lead anyone to think that you found it at item which is well known when you mention bath rooms...
It was scary? Was it during noon time or during an early evening?
I certainly haven't tried taking a bath with no lights on at night. The moon shine doesn't peek in from out bathroom window to provide an alternate light source..

hey ratyz. since we are living in the same country, yes, i have experienced taking a bath without the lights on. i remember after this huge storm, we had a blackout ran for over a week and we used to take candles inside the bathroom to have some light. but only during at night or very early in the dawn because at daytime, our bathroom is lit enough by the rays of sun going through the windows.
when i was working away from home though, i experienced taking a bath in the morning without the lights on and it was a little dark and i couldn't do everything properly and i had to hurry. ^__^;;

Candles during a blackouts in the bathroom while taking a bath.. sure does remind me scary situations wherein the light of the candle might get extinguished due to splashes of water.
Really scary but, I just thought of trying to take a bath with no lights during the afternoon. Little light can still be tolerable but, the bathroom seems like a different realm that I haven't been yet has been part of our house for a long time.

So its scary and invconvenient.
Hmm, of all the times I go and take a bath, my only intention is to clean myself.. I seem to have another context for the term relax since, I haven't used the reason to relax, whenever I take a bath
There has already been a number of good thriller films wherein scenes at the bath room are fully utilized, count to think of it. Feeling an extra hand while scrubbing yourself is quite scary.
Thank you for sharing!

I don't think I have tried bathing with no light at all. I have taken a bath with candles instead of turning the lights on but not without any light. At least I can't think of a time that I would have done it.

Have been taking a bath without lights for nearly a year now since the light in our bathroom got short ciruited because of leaking problem cuased by the upstairs unit. It's done now but we still haven't fix the light. Bathing in the dark is okay for me - Sometimes too much light make the bathroom hot (especially those that have a single yellow light bulb) and it becomes like a steam room. The only thing for me is the scrubbing and washing part I can't do it at night. Gotta get the cleaning done in during the day.

Honestly I have once. When the power had went out , It was either take no bath and stink, Or Take a bath in the dark. I tell you it was weird though, being in water with no lights. Washing yourself with no lights, I have done it a few times when I was younger. Haven't for awhile though.

Taking a bath in the dark seems to make the water colder than when lights are available. I don't but, that's what it seems to me.
Can you recall how it felt when you were still young and taking a bath with no lights on? I recall that the water too got dark and it seemed to deeper too really weird..

Hmm, I think it also happened to me, I bathed without the lights on. If I remembered it correctly, there was also blackout/brownout - I wonder why it is called that - in our town,it is slightly dark in our house and in the bathroom and there was light coming from the windows. I know it seem silly, but I really don't want dark room. Anyhow, even if it has a little light in the bathroom, it is really weird and scary, so I quickly finished my bathing and exited the room.XD

Maybe, just maybe, when electricity is out during at noon, things that are usually lighted seems to be brown while when power supply isn't present during at night, everything is black
Yeah, a dark environment seems to be closed in space and bath rooms, as they are already small in space, seems smaller when their is no lights, it seems really scary indeed.

Well I take a bath without the lights on during the middle of the day. But I actually tried not using the lights while bathing at night when my family and I stayed at a hotel out of town and there were only candles. So we used the candles and they were really fragrant. I loved the aroma therapy smell.

It seems that the bath room at that hotel you stayed in was really designed to have that pleasing atmosphere along with only being lit by candles. The aroma therapy also added to that mind pleasing and relaxing effect.
Thank you for sharing that account of yours

I also experienced taking a bath with no lights at all. I didn't know that experience will be something that I can share.
That experience is not usual but pretty exciting. You can see nothing but dark. The shampoo, soap, conditioner are no where to be found. You dont even see your body. Having this experience is crazy.
