Stimulas Payment: For real or a government scam

im not quit sure my dear, but i hope that it will not be goverment scam, be patient for how many days then start again to thier site or visit them by your self, to know what is the real problem on it.

It is for real, my daughter received their's, and well Uncle Sam kept mine and put it toward the taxes I owe, not a major amount of taxes, but I'm sure that helped the economy somehow? Also the amount you get depends on several factors, it is not the 'set' amount that everyone heard about. I do know that it goes by the last digits of your social as to when you will receive it.

We got ours on Friday. It said on the IRS website it would be deposited on May 9 according to my husband's SS number since his was listed first on our return and by golly it was there. and, now it's gone... We didn't stimulate the economy, I'm afraid, we had bills that were due and overdue so now at least we're semi-caught-up. Annie

It's real- I recieved mine this past Friday, May 9th. Although it would have been nice to spend, spend, spend like the government wants us to do- but it only caught my up half way on bills I am behind on ;(

I understand that the IRS is backed up on this one! It may take a while longer than you thought, but you will get it! I have not even applied yet, but I will! There is even a stimulus house buyer program in this area!

im not sure but i dont know anyone that has gotten their money yet but by the last of my ss# i should get mine by the 12th i am not counting on getting it but it would be nice

We were suppose to get ours on the 8th as well but we haven't gotten it yet and it is direct deposit but this also depends on how it was all filed as well.. I was on the IRS site and read threw a bunch of stuff which all makes pretty sense if you haven't you might want to go and look threw parts that you may have missed... But anyway it's on it's way I am sure, sometimes things are just slow!

I did hear they ran into trouble. Anyone that did their taxes by a third party and received their refund early, the checks went to the third party place instead. Hopefully you will receive yours soon. I did get mine Friday.

I think I heard on the news that there was some delay in sending them out. I don't think its a scam though. If it is there will be alot of irate people.

Don't freak out just yet. Like I told my dad last night, think of every single American that filed taxes this year. Then think of all of them that their last 2 of their last 4, is in that pay out date. So it might take awhile for them to be direct deposited into your bank. Now that's if you had your tax return direct deposited. We already got our's, and it came a couple of days after it was due, my dad is in the pay out date as us, but his last 2 is further down the line. It's taking them 7 days to go through the 00-20, so it's going to take some time, also before they send anyone money, they have to check to see if they owe taxes, child support, etc. After May 16th for direct deposit, and you haven't received anything, then call the IRS and ask where's my check.

My parents got theirs but they didn't get what they were supposed to. I'm thinking even though married couples file jointly that they might be sending payments out for them individually. I hope that's the case anyway. :)

I heard that they are real and are made to stimulate the economy and you can use it to pay off your bills in which you will not be paying all that interest and will be careful the next time or you could use it to buy that large screen tv you wanted. You should find out from the IRS when it is coming in and if it said May the nineth, since the 10th is a Saturday and 11th is Sunday, it might be there today. It might depend on what time of day it came in. Also if you moved and did not get them the new address, it might be direct deposited to your old bank. So what you have to do is to call your old bank find out if it was there, or if you gave another bank account, find if it is there instead and whether someone else took it instead. Also if the money came in on Friday, it depends on how far down the line you are or whether they got to you before the other ones. They might have it ready to go at one second before midnight /

Well, I did get mine deposited into my checking account the first Friday in May and my daughters went into the checking account this past week. So it is for real. I'm not sure that they have them all out yet, but it's not a scam!

No its not a scam, I am not sure it will be an economic stimulus, but it is real. I know several people who have gotten theirs already. If you did not get a refund last year or if you got a paper check for your refund, you will be mailed a check. If you received a refund that was directly deposited into your account, you will get your stimulus check by direct deposit as well.

From what I know, nobody will receive paper checks until late this month. The schedule is posted on the IRS website so you can check when yours should be delivered. Also keep in mind it says your taxes should have been "processed by April 15", so I'm wondering if those that mailed theirs in on the 15th will receive checks later than the schedule indicates.

It really exists, but unfortunately only for people with American social security numbers who are NOT married to people without them. I am anadian, and since my husband is married to me, and I don't have a social ecurity number, he's not eligable either!!! That really pi$$ed us off.

I am sorry you are having problems. I did get mine on the day they said it would be direct deposited. Sadly, most of it has gone to bills, although I did buy my daughter a $15 snowcone maker.

Someone here on mylot said she found out the checks are being sent two weeks late. She said she got the news from the IRS website or something. My parents got their check, so did my sister.

Just so you know, the check is real and I went to www.irs.gov and check yours from now. If you got it direct deposit, then you should be able to get it by now. I am supposed to be getting mine any day now. I supposed to be getting a paper check myself soon. I hope you get yours soon. but just to let you know it is no scam. This was a bill passed by President Bush and is considered law to stimulate the economy which is real sluggish because of rising gas and food prices.

We got ours on the 9th - direct deposited into our account. There was a piece on our local television news that people who had lower income or didn't pay in taxes would get less or wouldn't get payments, so some people who expected them might not get them. Also you won't get a payment unles syou filed taxes. You can go online at: http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/ to calculate what you will receive.
