Jelly omelet anyone...?

So, I was looking in my Betty Crocker cookbook and happened to see a jelly omelet recipe...you make your egg omelet like usual, but just before folding, you dot it with a jelly of your choice... Now, I mean no offense to anyone who eats this...to each their own especially when it comes to food...but there is NO WAY I am putting jelly on my eggs! I would eat it with ketchup before I would even consider jelly...! How about you? Is a jelly omelet going to grace your plate any time soon?

No, I don't believe a jelly omelet is going to grace my plate any time soon. But since you mentioned it, I am very likely to add ketchup to one of my omelets. I don't always want it on my omelets but usually always on plain scrambles eggs. Betty can keep her jelly omelets.

A jelly omelet oh my good grief charley brown, not for all the tea in china, yuck that makes my tummy hurt. thats about as bad as a guy I knew who put catsup on his lemon meringue pie.that even looked gross. On of our mylotters likes ketchup on her ice cream and that grossed me out.I respect her likes but they are not for me.now chocolate and ice cream is a good combo, and avocadoes and cheese on an omelet is delicious.

Oh goodness, no. I can't even imagine jelly with eggs. Having said that, I might eat jelly on toast with a breakfast of eggs, but that's as far as I'd go. How come you didn't share this recipe with the Pennies?

No, it's not going to be on my plate anytime soon... never, actually. I don't eat eggs, but even if I did, I would want them with something more savory than sweet. I used to have them with salsa, tabasco, red hot, onion, garlic, etc. It never even crossed my mind to try jelly. I never cared for desserts that had egg either and it would probably remind me of that type of thing.

Um, it doesn't sound very good, but I would try it. I mean I wouldn't make it specifically for myself, because if I didn't like it, it would have been a waste of money. But if someone else made it, I'd try it. I try to taste something before I write it off, but I tell you on this, it is hard to think it would taste good.

It actually does not sound that strange to me. When I eat a sausage egg mcmuffin or bacon egg and cheese biscuit from McDonald's I put jelly on it. I use strawberry for the sausage and grape for the bacon. It is actually pretty good.

That sounds like kids play. You know how when we were kids we used to come up with all sorts of wierd combinations in our bid to be creative and unique? That combination reminds me of those days. I bet it has survived some childhood experiment and remained one of the creator's favorite dishes or something like that. I definately dont see that even making its way onto my plate moreover my mouth. (lol)

Jelly on eggs just sounds nasty. But you know, some recipes/combinations just sound bad, but in reality they are delicious. My friend showed me homemade fries with nutella (sounds wierd and not so good), but in reality it is DELICIOUS. Because the fries are homemade they are nice and squishy, and you get the potato taste mixed with nutella, mmmmm.
