When you first wake up in the morning does it take you a long time to shake off sleep or are you ready to go in just a few minutes. If I sleep really hard sometimes it takes longer to shake off the sleep. But most of the time I can hear the alarm and be up and ready to go in just a few minutes. How about you?

To be honest, I set up the alarm daily. But the bad habit just remains unchanged. Help! LOL.
So when the alarm rings, I would always find my hands reaching out and turn it off. LOL. Then I continue in sleeping. I know I need some self discipline and I wonder if I would be able to shake off the sleep easily in the future.

LOL. I remember a certain Japanese J-Rock singer said in an interview that he placed the alarm clock (and telephone with highest ring volume) at the opposite corner of his bedroom [his bed was at another corner].
He said sometimes he could ‘cheat’ by not setting the alarm clock on, so then it would be the manager’s turn to make a morning wake up call. LOL.
Later he did wake up and went to bath, but because of being still in the middle of half awaken state, he drifted off to sleep in the bathtub and it was near ... LOL. he woke up after being drown in the bathtub. And he told the magazine journalist that he had to change the bathing way into shower and no longer using the bathtub.

It depends. I don't know on what. But sometimes it takes me about an hour to come out of a stupor, so to speak. I can't function or don't function too well. Not being able to think of things for anything. Many times I just get up and go and do many things no problem. I think these are times when before going to bed I know I have to do something the next morning. It could be other times as well, I just don't know.

It takes me at least an hour, assisted with strong coffee, to really wake up and feel normal first thing in the mornings. The deeper I've slept, the harder it is to become fully conscious. I always hear an alarm clock, but I have to set it to "snooze" and make the first alarm sound at least 45 minutes before it's time to get up, otherwise I just don't make it. I've always been the same.

Thanks for the reply. Yes life would be very boring if we were all the same. I'd love to be able to just bounce awake in the mornings, but I suppose I have to accept that it's just not for me LOL.
Have a good day!!!!

oh yes... it takes some times for me to get up from my bed every morning... i need at least another 5 minutes... especially now the weather is getting really cold here... it is harder for me to wake up in the morning as i just want to keep on snuggling inside my quilt to keep warm... take care and have a nice day...

After I am awakened by the alarm of my cellphone it usually takes me quite some time to shake off from the sleep. I would get up from the bed very fast if there are some excited affairs waiting for me to do that day like my son will back to home and I have to prepare his favorite dishes or have appointment with friend.

it depends jill. during weekdays i don't have the time to stay in bed for a few minutes after waking up. i would have to get up immediately and get ready for office. but during weekends, if i'm having a hard time waking up, then i can indulge and sleep more.

I am up and ready to begin my day most of the time. But sometimes I don't get enough sleep and I don't want to wake up when the alarm goes off.
So I guess it all depends on if I've had enough sleep the night before.

It takes me a few minute to wake up and get started in the morning. If my alarm clock goes off, I go back to sleep for another 30 minutes before I can start my day.

When I wake up in the morning, I feel like my mind is ready to go but my body isn't! My husband just jumps right up and gets moving, I'm quite a bit more sluggish when I first wake up.
I do shut the alarm off right away, although I might lay in bed a few more minutes. I guess you could say it takes me awhile to get moving, but once I do, I'm on the go.

See my icon??? That really IS me in the mornings. It takes me forever to get up. I don't want to get out of bed at all and it usually takes me at least an hour to make myself take that step -- doesn't matter if I've slept 4 hours or 14 hours. Then once I'm up, I just want to sit and stare. LOL. I need to allow myself 2 hours to get ready to leave the house and 1 hour of it is just sitting and staring and drinking caffeine.

I have absolutely no problem getting up the moment I wake up. It doesn't take me long to get up at all. This morning, for example, I was awake, out of bed, dressed, and out the door to church in abou five minute!!! I can get dressed even faster than my husband. LOL

Most of the time I can get up and go. That is one reason why I hardly ever take the sleeping pills the doctor has prescribed me. If I take one of the pills, I have a hard getting up. I might only get 2 or 3 hours of sleep without a pill, but I prefer it to something making me go to sleep. Usually though I can summon up about 4 hours of sleep a night and get up quickly and in a good mood the next morning.

Every now and then it will take me a few minutes to wake up and get going. Most of the time I am up and getting my kids ready for school in just a few minutes. It takes my husband a little longer. Our two daughters are like my husband. They have to be called several times but our son is like me and is up and going as soon as he is called.

When I wake up, I am basically a zombie for a few minutes, but once I get into the shower I am usually ready to go! If I didn't sleep well in the night, sometimes I lay down right after my shower for a few more minutes (basically because I haven't gotten out of zombie mode yet!).
