Do rainy days make you eat more than usual?

It has been raining since morning, and it looks dark and gloomy outside. I'm at work, and my co-worker and I have decided that we want to eat some warm pizza for lunch due to the weather.
Normally, I eat a healthier lunch than pizza but because of the atmosphere, I feel like I can indulge in some "comfort food."
Do you tend to eat a little differently when it is rainy? What kind of food do you like to eat when it's dark and gloomy?

Hi Wayz, I don't tend to eat when it rains. But I sure want to sleep. It makes me so sleepy. I feel so lazy, it makes me feel guilty that I am so sleepy I take a nap. When I know I have things to do.

Oh yes wayz, on cold days it's hard to get out of bed.
Once I get going I'm fine.

yes. Because I tend to sit around more, and its depressing. Sitting around is a big trigger for making you want to eat more, because you eat out of boredom. So I would have to say yes I do eat more on rainy days.

Hmm...yeah sure on rainy days, i have hot cocoa, and too a lot. And well pizza is my first choice, but then again, anything hot would do.

Actually the weather doesn't affect my eating that much. Maybe it's partly because we live on campus and the dining room does not offer us that many choices. I am fed up with that food already. Thus from time to time, we go out to try something different.

Ok. Here's the thing...We tend to eat more and we tend to eat fatty foods when it is rainings because our body is just telling us to do so because it is cold and our body needs heat. Food is converted to heat and when it is converted to heat it maintains the normal body temperature during rainy season. I have also asked this question to my professor in college of nursing and that's what he told me. I hope this answers your question. :0)

Yes I think we do eat more and things that are not as good for us when it rains outside. I think when it is dark and gloomy outside it affects are mood and thats makes us eat differently. I think pizza is a great rainy day food! I love casseroles on rainy days too or something like goulash.

Comfort food is the answer. I start thinking stew, home made soups, meatloaf. I just want to have my home smell welcoming to anyone who comes home in out of the rain. I think the rain makes us think Hot food.

I can't say that I eat more than usual on rainy days. I spend the day at the cofee shop where I do drink a few cups of cofee, but where I keep myself busy at my computer, so I don't get the chance to think much aout food.

I think I might eat more when it is a rainy day. I agree comfort foods appeal on dreary days. I'd probably lean towards chips and something else unhealthy. But if it was a Saturday and it was rainy I'd probably eat less. Rainy weather often makes me sleepy, so on a Saturday I'd likely spend more time asleep, thereby cutting down the time available to eat.

Yes I think we tend to eat and sleep more on rainy gloomy days. I never figured out why this is it just does happen and I find my self doing it. I tend to want more things that I know I shouldn't have on days like this and I will eat it for it makes me feel better.

Yes, I eat more than usual when it is raining and cold. Probably our body need more energy to warm up, that is why we need more foods.
